Haseeb Hameed opens the face and guides Ben Raine down to the third man boundary to move into double figures.

The seamer clearly does not appreciate that and twice beats the outside edge with a nagging line outside off stump.

Ben Slater then picks up his first four as he edges one along the floor through the slip cordon off Daniel Hogg.

Hogg goes back over the wicket to the right-handed Hameed who plays and misses at a ball which whistles through to Ollie Robinson.

  2. Inspection scheduled at Derbypublished at 12:16 British Summer Time 24 August

    Derbys 429 v Glamorgan 168 & 39-0

Derby fans, time for your good news!

Lunch will be moved forward to 12:30 BST, with an inspection planned for 13:00 BST.

  3. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 12:16 British Summer Time 24 August

    Durham 531-7 dec v Notts 229 & 14-0

Another chance goes down for Durham.

Daniel Hogg spears a full ball towards the off stump of Ben Slater who edges low to Scott Borthwick at first slip.

The Durham skip gets his hands to it but can't hold on.

Hogg then induces another edge from Slater - on five - but it drops just short of third slip. Just two from the over.

    Nervy times.

  4. Postpublished at 12:14 British Summer Time 24 August

    Yorkshire 326 v Sussex 189 & 38-1

Tom Haines is walking on thin ice here. Another false shot. Another edge. Another boundary.

He has 23 runs but has flashed another ball in the are past Finley Bean diving to his left at third slip.

Bean has already shown his prowess with the flying catch to oust Daniel Hughes earlier.

That wan sun is trying to peep through at Scarbados once again.

  5. Milestone for Ben Slaterpublished at 12:12 British Summer Time 24 August

    Durham 531-7 dec v Notts 229 & 12-0

Ben Slater takes a couple off the first ball of Ben Raine's third over to move past 8,000 first-class runs.

I'm sure his mind will be on Notts precarious position rather than his personal milestone. But worth marking nonetheless!

Raine then goes a little too straight again and the Notts opener picks up a leg bye off his pad.

  6. Postpublished at 12:08 British Summer Time 24 August

    Durham 531-7 dec v Notts 229 & 9-0

Haseeb Hameed plays out a maiden to Ben Raine who almost finds an outside edge and the breakthrough.

At the other end, Daniel Hogg keeps it tidy as Ben Slater struggles to get off the mark.

A no-ball and then Slater finally picks up his first run to his 13th ball with a push into the covers.

Dramatic update from Northwood - the lunch interval, scheduled for 13:10 BST, will now begin 10 minutes earlier at 13:00 BST.

  8. Play due to start after lunch at Edgbastonpublished at 12:03 British Summer Time 24 August

    Warwicks 337 & 27-1 v Somerset 239

Excellent news for cricket lovers in Birmingham.

The rain has cleared and the covers are being removed at Edgbaston.

There will be no play before lunch, but if the rain holds off, they hope to resume at 1:50 BST with 34 overs lost as it stands.

  9. Postpublished at 12:03 British Summer Time 24 August

    Yorkshire 326 v Sussex 189 & 31-1

Jordan Thompson has been absolutely on the money in this stop-start first hour.

He ends his second over of the morning by drawing Tom Haines forward in defence and beating the edge once again.

Tom Clark gets off the mark at the seventh time of asking with a couple off Ben Coad in the next over.

  10. Postpublished at 12:00 British Summer Time 24 August

    Durham 531-7 dec v Notts 229 & 6-0

After getting his maiden first-class wicket, Daniel Hogg is rewarded by being handed the new ball for Durham.

And the 19-year-old makes a very good fist of it, causing Ben Slater more than a few problems.

He sends one narrowly over Slater's off-stump and then squares up the Notts opener with another which skoots through to the slips.

Umpire Paul Baldwin warns the teenager about running down the wicket in his follow through. Careful, young man.

  11. Postpublished at 11:59 British Summer Time 24 August

    Yorkshire 326 v Sussex 189 & 31-1

Ben Coad completes his aborted over by finding the outside edge of Tom Clark's bat, though the ball drops well short of danger.

Jordan Thompson finds the edge with the first ball of the next over, but Tom Haines picks up four runs to move to 19* as the ball flashes to the fence past the vacant fourth slip area.

    Sussex still 106 behind...

  12. Pitch inspection at New Roadpublished at 11:56 British Summer Time 24 August

    Worcestershire 447 v Kent 171 & 104-2

An early lunch will be taken at New Road at 12:20, with a further pitch inspection scheduled at 12:30, so long as no further rain falls.

Keep those fingers crossed Pears fans. Keep rain-dancing Kent fans.

  13. Notts begin their second inningspublished at 11:53 British Summer Time 24 August

    Durham 531-7 dec v Notts 229 & 6-0

If Notts needed a captain's innings it's now.

The visitors badly need to get through to lunch unscathed, but have a big job on their hands.

But if there's any consolation for Notts it is that they will 'only' have to face three Durham seamers after Neil Wagner's shoulder injury on day two.

Haseeb Hameed faces the first ball of the second knock, with Ben Raine handed the new ball after his 2-34 first time around.

Hameed takes a couple off the first ball and when Raine goes too straight, he then tucks a shot off his hips down to the fine leg boundary.

But the Notts skip plays at the next and is lucky not to get an edge.

  14. Play set to resume at Scarboroughpublished at 11:53 British Summer Time 24 August

    Yorkshire 326 v Sussex 189 & 27-1

Just the 10 overs lost due to that downpour at North Marine Road.. Sussex pair Tom Haines and Tom Clark head back out to try and haul their side back into this potentially crucial Division Two encounter.

  16. Durham enforce the follow-onpublished at 11:46 British Summer Time 24 August

    Durham 531-7 dec v Notts 229 - Durham lead by 302

It would have been a huge surprise if they hadn't but Durham ask the visitors to have another bat.

The Durham bowlers needed just six-and-a-half overs to remove the final two wickets and will feel fresh to get stuck in once again.

Notts have a huge task on their hands to avoid a third defeat of the season.

  17. Gloomy prospects at Northwoodpublished at 11:44 British Summer Time 24 August

    Middlesex 250-7 v Northants 207 - start delayed

    Andrew Radd
    BBC Radio Northampton

Precious little chance of cricket any time soon at Merchant Taylors' School, where it's already been raining for several hours.

Second-placed Middlesex will be keen to get some play today if at all possible - they lead Northamptonshire by 43 with three first-innings wickets in hand.

In the meantime, players, officials and reporters are being treated to an eclectic playlist by the resident DJ - tracks from ABBA, Michael Jackson and Ed Sheeran to name but a few.

  18. Notts have to go better second time aroundpublished at 11:42 British Summer Time 24 August

    Durham 531-7 dec v Notts 229

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

Luke Fletcher didn't get off the mark. Ollie Robinson took four catches in the innings. That's a pretty good effort by Durham this morning. The follow-on has been enforced.

Notts have got to go better second time around, they trail by 302.

  19. NOTTINGHAMSHIRE ALL OUT FOR 229published at 11:40 British Summer Time 24 August
    Breaking

    Hutton c Robinson b Hogg 11

That puts the tin lid on a super start for Durham as Daniel Hogg collects a wicket on his first-class debut.

He sends down a beauty to Brett Hutton who doesn't know whether to withdraw his bat or have a dab.

Hutton has a dab and gets an edge through to wicketkeeper Ollie Robinson.

Hogg will remember that for a long time and Durham take a first innings lead of 302.

  20. Postpublished at 11:37 British Summer Time 24 August

    Durham 531-7 dec v Notts 228-9

Brett Hutton pulls Daniel Hogg down to fine leg for a single to give Luke Fletcher five balls to survive.

The Bulwell Bomber hangs out a bat and then chastises himself as he almost takes the edge.

Fletcher then does get an outside edge, but it falls just short of the slips.

He has a first-class best innings of 92. Looks unlikely today, mind you.
