I'm kind of baffled by how India are playing this powerplay.

They haven't tried to make anything from it, but Pakistan have bowled really well and really tight to the stumps. These two are just taking the runs that are on offer, but they haven't tried to go over the top of that off side or deep square leg.

It is interesting how they are going about it...

  2. Ind 22-1published at 5 overs

Jemimah Rodrigues arrives at first drop, having seen off her first ball she hits Iqbal for consecutive twos with leg-side paddles.

One over to go in the powerplay, not the most explosive start from India.

Well bowled by Sadia Iqbal! That was a really strange innings from Smriti Mandhana.

That ball was in the slot in her arch and she is usually so good through that off side and through the covers, but instead of getting her hands all the way through it she just tried to place the ball.

A strange innings - she just wasn't able to get going.

    Easy catch!

Mandhana splices Iqbal to point for an easy grab for Tuba Hassan.

She'd failed to score from nine of her last 10 balls, perhaps the pressure was getting to her.

You can never give Shafali Verma too much width. She kind of slices the ball but with so much power. So having that long on and mid-wicket out is just free runs for the Indian batters at the moment.

Pakistan need to get wickets to be able to get anywhere close to winning this game.

  6. Ind 18-0published at 4 overs

Nida Dar into the attack, Shafali Verma pushes her opening delivery through the covers ring - might have gone for four on another ground.

Fatima Sana gave that one the big appeal, but I think she probably knew straight away that was going down the leg side.

She is bowling really well here - she is getting a beautiful tail but late back into the right hand of Shafali Verma. Pakistan have started really well here.

  8. Ind 14-0published at 3 overs

    Whoops.

Fatima sends down a big off-side wide that Muneeba fails to block, the ball runs away for five wides.

The rest of the over is better, just a further single from it and another pummelling of Shafali Verma's pads - going down leg again, gets no response from the umpire.

  9. Ind 8-0published at 2 overs

Sadia Iqbal's left-arm spin at the other end for Pakistan.

Smriti Mandhana works her for a couple of twos, through third and the covers.

  10. Ind 4-0published at 1 over

That is an inside edge to end the over, into Verma's pads, no appeal.

The over started with four singles, prompting wicketkeeper Muneeba Ali to swap her cap for a helmet and stand-up to Fatima's seam - an attempt to stop the India batters walking down the pitch to nudge runs.

Meanwhile Winviz can only see one winner here...

She looked very nervous waiting for that ball tracker, but fair enough to Shafali Verma!

She knew what she was doing. She is best placed to know whether she felt that was going to go down leg, which it was. A very good review from Verma in the end.

Indeed, there's no bat, Tash... but it's sliding down leg.

Still surprising that Shafali Verma went so confidently for the review if she was questioning the ball trajectory - she didn't bother to check with Smriti Mandhana at the other end.

    Still, good call, decision over-turned.

I wonder why she was so quick to go for that review - she's not edged it!

The fact she went up so quickly suggests there might be inside edge.

  16. Umpire reviewpublished at 0.5 overs

Fatima Sana crashes her fifth delivery into the pads of Shafali Verma, spins and gives the umpire the big appeal.

Up goes the umpire's finger, Shafali Verma signals for a review immediately.

    Thanks Tim.

A significantly lower total to chase than the 161 India needed in their first match against New Zealand.

But they were bowled out for 102 that day, so this isn't in the bag.

I'd say India are hot favourites at the moment, but is that how it's going to pan out? Mike Peter will take you through their reply.

  19. Pak 105-8published at 20 overs

Pakistan do post a total over 100 - just.

Nashra Sandhu runs two then slams the final ball of the innings back over the bowler to the boundary.

I didn't think they would get there a while ago, but that still feels like way, way under par.

It felt like that was coming - Nida Dar was trying her best but she was just so exhausted from the heat.

It was really nicely bowled from Arundhati Reddy, just keeping it simple and as straight as she could. There was probably a little bit of frustration there as well, after missing out on that lbw shout.

Either way, she has now removed Nida Dar.
