  1. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 4.5 overs

    Sidra b Deepti 8 (Pak 25-2)

    That's the perfect response!

Deepti slows her next delivery down a touch, it deceives Sidra's slog and she's bowled, the ball deflecting off her body.

The batter has a face like thunder as she trudges off the outfield.

  2. Pak 25-1published at 4.4 overs

Sidra Amin is back in the zone, dropping to her knee to lift the spin of Deepti Sharma to the long leg boundary.

  3. Umpire reviewpublished at 4.2 overs

    Pak 21-1

Sidra Amin wanders down the pitch, and with a throw clattering into the stumps she has to be quick to get her bat back down just in time.

These shots from Muneeba Ali should give a lot of confidence to the other Pakistan batters coming in. I think anything slightly fuller today, you can trust your hands with.

  5. Pak 18-1published at 4 overs

The medium pace of Arundhati Reddy tempts Sidra Ali, she lifts a drive from her first delivery just short of mid off.

That prompts keeper Richa Ghosh into standing up to the stumps, from where she appeals when Muneeba is struck on the front pad. No-one else joins in, but there's just one from that over.

That is a lovely looking shot! The only thing there that wasn't quite right for Renuka was the length. This one was very much in the half of Muneeba Ali.

It was a natural swing. She didn't try to over-hit it, nice base, full follow through.

  7. Pak 17-1published at 3 overs

Renuka Singh Thakur's second over seems to take an age, there's a wide in the middle but there is a lot of fiddling with the field after each delivery.

Muneeba is unfazed, and she bashes another four from the last ball, almost straight back over the umpire. That's 11 off the over as well.

  8. Pak 10-1published at 2.3 overs

Muneeba Ali smacks the first boundary of the match, plonking one foot down the pitch and lifting Renuka Singh Thakur high over mid off.

  9. Pak 6-1published at 2,1 overs

There's a smattering of fans in the stands in the stadium that is hosting its 100th T20 international. Most of them are sheltering in the shade, and in 36 degrees of heat who can blame them?

Initially it looked as if Gull Feroza had just played down the wrong line, but I do wonder if that was because there was a little bit of movement. I say a little bit - there was a lot of movement off the seam.

That was an absolute cracker - there was so much deviation on that ball - what a start!

  11. Pak 3-1published at 1.2 overs

Deepti Sharma's off spin is in action from the other end, and Muneeba gets off strike quickly with an airy sweep.

She's been joined by Sidra Amin, who gets going off her first delivery with a pull through mid-wicket.

  12. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 1 over

    Feroza b Renuka 0 (Pak 1-1)

Renuka Singh Thakur gets Gull Feroza with an absolute peach of a delivery, nipping it back from outside off stump to clip the bails.

    Great start for India!

  13. Pak 1-0published at 0.3 overs

Muneeba nudges the second ball down to fine leg to get off the mark, but Gull Feroza looks very uncertain from the off.

She swipes across her first delivery, it hits her on the pad but there's no real appeal on the pitch - plenty from the stands, though.

India didn't look very good at all against New Zealand. There were obviously a few moments of controversy in that game, but it was their body language.

They got behind in the game and no-one scored above 15 runs, so they struggled with the ball and they didn't field particularly well. The body language in the field wasn't great.

India are the favourites here, but you would say that Pakistan have the momentum after their win over Sri Lanka.

  15. Pak 0-0published at 0.1 overs

Renuka Singh Thakur takes the new ball, and the left-handed Muneeba Ali gets a solid forward defensive in to prod the ball back to the bowler.

    India v Pakistan (11:00 BST)

Saturday's games were a bit of a spinfest on a low, slow deck in Sharjah. The highest total was just 118 from England while Friday's games here in Dubai saw New Zealand post 160, which was too much for India while South Africa waltzed home, chasing 119 without losing a wicket.

So, runs galore or low-scoring thriller? We'll soon find out - the anthems have been sung, and we are just a couple of minutes away from the start.

It's fair to say that India's 58-run defeat to New Zealand on Friday was a bit of a shock, with India's batting crumbling to just 102 all out.

"We were also looking to bat first but we have a good opportunity here," says Harmanpreet Kaur. "We have to look forward with a positive approach, it is always about how you bounce back so all eyes in this game."

Fatima Sana called heads, that's how it fell and the Pakistan skipper elected to bat.

"We will try to put a maximum total as it looks like a good pitch. I am really excited," she tells Nasser Hussain.

    Good morning!

India v Pakistan is always a seismic encounter in any form of the game, and with these two sides having contrasting fortunes in their opening fixtures there is a lot riding on this.

But first of all, let's go straight to news of the toss.
