    Surrey 109 ao

Dan Worrall walks about as slowly as he possibly can to the crease to use up as much time as poss.

The Somerset fans roar their displeasure.

He survives the first but then a big appeal. He's gone!

Absolutely unbelievable scenes as Jack Leach beats Worrall's defensive push and strikes the pad. He's given and Somerset take a win with just a few minutes to spare.

    What a game of cricket!

The title race is wide open!

    Kent 207 & 338 v Hampshire 403 - target 143

Hampshire are a regular sight at T20 Blast Finals Day. They aren't there this year, but they want one last taste of that kind of fun.

Nine overs or 18:02 BST - that is how long they'll have to get 143 runs...although there are currently covers on the wicket and on one half of the square.

Let's be honest, if they attempt this they are mad. If they get it, they are madder!

In the 2021 Blast, they chased 184 in 13 overs...

    Surrey 109-9 - target 221

Surrey try to bring drinks on - naughty - but are refused.

Jack Leach in to Jordan Clark who is almost persuaded to play a turning ball but plays the line well.

    But he's gone! Pandemonium!

Clark has played a super knock, but Leach finally takes the edge and James Rew takes the catch.

Five minutes to go. One wicket to take. Unbelievable.

Archie Vaughan returns after the Lewis Goldsworthy experiment.

Kemar Roach is back on his stumps to defend the first ball, then forward to snuff out the turn.

Vaughan tosses the fourth ball up and it's through James Rew for four byes.

Roach again solidly forward with a model forward defensive to keep put the danger.

Nine minutes to go. Have Surrey done enough?

Jack Leach with the last scheduled over of the day.

For the umpteenth time, Leach goes past the outside edge of Jordan Clark.

The Surrey batter jabs the next two balls down into the ground.

Leach has hands on knees, slumped in frustration, as he turns another past Clark's defensive push.

Then punches the last ball off the back foot. Maiden.

Eleven minutes of extra overs to survive for Surrey.

  7. wicket

WICKET Finch c Vince b Fuller 79published at 17:19 British Summer Time 12 September

    Kent 207 & 338 v Hampshire 403

Hampshire need 143 in nine overs.

Harry Finch is bounced by James Fuller and it has ballooned to first slip.

Hampshire look keen on taking this chase on...

To add to the drama it is starting to rain at Canterbury.

The Somerset fielders dash between overs as if their lives depended upon it.

The fresh fingers of Lewis Goldsworthy replace Archie Vaughan.

He races through the over but Kemar Roach's defensive technique is up to the job.

Jordan Clark again defends stoutly as Jack Leach strives for the breakthrough.

Craig Overton swaps the bails around again.

The fourth ball gets real turn and again beats the outside edge.

Two overs scheduled, but they will get more. Somerset have 5.30 as a target.

Archie Vaughan in with six around the bat.

Kemar Roach edges but into the ground.

The fifth ball turns a tad and so nearly takes the outside edge. Agonies for Somerset.

Neither batter has a run, but they've survived seven overs.

Jas Singh has defended another ball and it ends up in short mid-off's hands.

Between the ball hitting the bat and reaching the hands is in dispute.

Accoring to the umpire it hit the ground, according to Hampshire it bounced off Singh's boot. Only one opinion matters though.

(It isn't mine, but for what it's worth, the replay shows it hit boot then ground)

Lead is still 140, overs remaining is 14.

Jack Leach slides one past Jordan Clark's outside edge.

Not a million miles away, but perhaps not worth the volume of the appeal.

Another peach beats Clark's outside edge, but without reward.

Leach could easily have had a five-wicket haul of his own today.

    Dot-dot-dot-dot-dot-dot.

    Four overs to go.

    Kent 207 & 336-9 v Hampshire 403

Since the ninth wicket fell, Kent have seen off 44 balls.

Only 10 runs have come in that time, but that doesn't matter now.

If Hampshire are to chase anything, the rate would be over 11 runs an over now.

Kent's lead is 140 with 15 overs left (which would become 12 with a wicket),

Archie Vaughan into Kemar Roach as the floodlights come on at a suddenly gloomy Taunton.

Roach has to play at every ball from the 18-year-old as a second slip joins the fray, but he keeps them all out safely.

Jack Leach, what have you got?

The Statman Cometh: Keeping eye on Archie Vaughan. 10-140 is third best match return for a Somerset bowler vs Surrey. Only bettered by Ted Tyler with 11-97 in 1893 and Ellis Robinson with 11-119 in 1951. For any bowler in this fixture the best is Ian Salisbury with 12-91 in 2000.

Jack Leach turns one into the pads of Jordan Clark but umpire David Millns says no. Just outside leg stump.

    Guess what? Maiden.

Come on Somerset! Unbelievable end in sight…but they need to get on with it - I live two miles west of the ground on top of a hill and there are ominous clouds overhead.

Man of the moment Archie Vaughan is in for his 29th over of the innings - and 66th of the match.

Kemar Roach looks solid enough and plays out five dots before sharp turn beats the West Indies bowler and runs away for four leg byes.

Seven scheduled overs to go, but we may get more.

Anyone else struggling to catch their breath?

It's not so long ago that Ben Foakes and Dom Sibley were killing this game off.

But in the space of seven overs Surrey have slumped from 95-3 to hanging on at 101-8.

Jack Leach gets through his 32nd over and his 19th maiden. Eight to go.

James Fuller and Kyle Abbott can't get this last Kent wicket, so Liam Dawson is going to have a go.

Jas Singh has blocked out 15 balls, Harry Finch has been assured for hours now for 76.

Lead is 139 and overs are down to 17. Time is running out.
