A huge appeal from Matt Critchley!

Nick Gubbins had attempted to paddle sweep him, and was struck on the pads. Not out says umpire Ian Blackwell.

Wicketkeeper Michael Pepper has his hands on his head but the ball was heading rather leg sidey.

A little bit of pressure on Yorkshire?

Adam Lyth tries to flick Jack Carson away but an under-edge onto his pad sees John Simpson trot round from behind the stumps to take the catch.

Lyth takes an age to look up at the umpire before learning his fate.

    Worcs need 101 to win

Joe Leach finally gets his wicket, taking the edge of George Garrett's bat and Gareth Roderick takes his third catch of the innings.

Garrett goes for six, leaving Alfie Ogborne unbeaten on eight, and the hosts need 101 to claim just their second win of the season.

    Hants 70-1 v Essex 438-8d

Toby Albert and Nick Gubbins are slowly getting out of survival mode and starting to consider the bonus point situation.

The pair have added 50 without giving anything away, as things go flat for the bowlers.

Albert has taken a liking to Matt Critchley's leg spin - he opens his shoulders and dispatches for six over long-on.

    Durham 531-7 dec v Notts 229 & 245-8 (f-o)

Bas de Leede into the attack for Ben Raine and finds the boot of Lyndon James with a full ball.

There's no big appeal, though, James runs a leg bye.

Olly Stone then collects his first boundary off Daniel Hogg to move to 10 and cut the deficit to 57.

  7. Postpublished at 11:42 British Summer Time 25 August 2024

    Surrey 444-9 dec v Surrey 204 & 47-3

Double change by Surrey as Jordan Clark and Tom Lawes come into the attack.

Lawes' first ball is a wide half-volley and Josh Bohannon drives it square for four.

Two balls later, Bohannon has another go outside off stump and is fortunate that a thick edge flies between second slip and gully and runs away to the third man boundary.

WICKET: Davies b Leach 131published at 11:42 British Summer Time 25 August 2024

    Warwickshire 337 & 218-6 v Somerset 238

    First wicket of the morning.

Alex Davies goes, misjudging a straight one from Jack Leach, which scuttles through his defences.

The lead is now up to 316 and Warwickshire must surely be having the discussion about setting a target.

With results going their way elsewhere the draw could give them breathing room with the outlook for Lancashire and Nottinghamshire looking bleak in their matches.

But a win, a first of their campaign, could very nearly guarantee first division cricket next year.

    Glos 544-4 dec v Leics 402 & 75-0

Gloucestershire still await their first breakthrough of the morning.

Very much a batter's pitch this one and Ian Holland and Rishi Patel have added 34 to Leicestershire's overnight score in 10 overs so far.

  10. Hogg impresses at the Riversidepublished at 11:36 British Summer Time 25 August 2024

Notts 233-8, trail Durham by 69 runs following on

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Teenage debutant Daniel Hogg has picked up a five-for on the final morning here in CLS.

Both catches have come in the slips. Scott Borthwick took the first one, at first slip, low to his right. That saw off Jack Haynes, who'd faced 172 balls for a very determined 69.

Calvin Harrison then edged to Ashton Turner at second slip on one.

Hogg, who is 19 and came through the academy, has bowled really well in the absence of the injured Neil Wagner. His figures are 5-60 in 22 overs with six maidens.

It's a grey day in the North East and there's a threat of rain in the not too distant future, so Durham need to wrap this up quickly. Two more wickets needed for an innings victory.

    Worcs 447 v Kent 171 & 372-9 lead by 96

George Garrett gets off the mark in fine style with a first-ball four off Tom Taylor who is sniffing a five-for at Worcester.

An Alfie Ogborne single off Joe Leach - the 100th over of the Kent second innings - takes the lead to 96

  12. Glamorgan leadpublished at 11:35 British Summer Time 25 August 2024

    Derbys 429 v Glamorgan 168 & 264-7

It won't be an innings defeat for Glamorgan - although any hopes of avoiding a heavy defeat are still a pipe dream.

Mason Crane has been very assured thus far in his 24. Indeed he's the man to take his side into the lead with a smashing cover drive for four.

  13. Postpublished at 11:34 British Summer Time 25 August 2024

    Surrey 444-9 dec v Lancs 204 & 36-3

There was no hat-trick for Dan Worrall following the wickets of Keaton Jennings and Rocky Flintoff, but he won't be bothered by that.

Another fine over by the Australian sees just two added to the Lancashire total. Matty Hurst is now out there with Josh Bohannon.

WICKET Moriarty lbw Carson 17published at 11:31 British Summer Time 25 August 2024

    Yorks 69-3 - target 103

Dan Moriarty square cuts Jack Carson for four but next ball the Sussex spinner has his man.

Moriarty plays fractionally down the wrong line and the lbw decision is a formality.

James Wharton is the new Yorkshire batter, with 34 runs needed for victory.

  15. Five-wicket haul for Daniel Hoggpublished at 11:30 British Summer Time 25 August 2024

    Harrison c Turner b Hogg 1 - Durham 531-7 dec v Notts 229 & 233-8 (f-o)

    What a debut!

Daniel Hogg is bowling Durham to victory here.

He once again takes an outside edge, this time from the bat of Calvin Harrison, and Ashton Turner pouches the chance at second slip.

That's six wickets in the match for the 19-year-old.

Olly Stone joins Lyndon James. Notts still 65 short of making the hosts bat again.

WICKET Jordan b Taylor 7published at 11:29 British Summer Time 25 August 2024

    Worcs 447 v Kent 171 & 367-9 lead by 91

Joe Leach twice wraps Alfie Ogborne on the pads, the second looks a really good shout, hitting the batter's back pad.

He liked the look of that one and runs down the pitch in celebration before turning to look at the umpires reaction.

There is none. Maybe a touch outside the line?

    But that is OUT!

Tom Taylor finally gets his rewards as he uproots Akeem Jordan's off stump to claim his fourth wicket.

    Just one more...

  17. Postpublished at 11:27 British Summer Time 25 August 2024

Yorkshire are certainly not hanging about.

Dan Moriarty pulls another short ball from Jack Carson for four.

It's time for Ollie Robinson, but his third delivery is smashed over point by Adam Lyth for his second six of the morning.

Just 43 more needed by the White Rose.

Just 23 minutes needed to wrap up the Middlesex innings.

The lead is 57 and judging by how a couple of flew off the pitch this morning it could be a lively for the Northants openers when they resume in a few minutes.

  19. Postpublished at 11:24 British Summer Time 25 August 2024

    Durham 531-7 dec v Notts 229 & 232-7 (f-o)

Lyndon James picks up his first four of the morning as he guides Daniel Hogg down to the third man boundary.

Back-to-back boundaries as James turns the next ball through midwicket and moves to 17.

    Notts trail by 70.

Andrew Flintoff was out for nought in the first innings of his Championship debut.

Son Rocky follows suit - first ball- as Dan Worrall finds the edge with a superb delivery and Ben Foakes moves to his right to take the catch.

    Worrall is on a hat-trick.
