for Hampshirepublished at 11:21 British Summer Time 25 August 2024

    Hants 55-1 v Essex 438-8d

We're sorry to share that this doesn't have the feeling like a 19-wicket day.

Jamie Porter and Sam Cook aren't getting anywhere near the help they need from the pitch or ball to find a way of seeing off Toby Albert and Nick Gubbins.

Albert clips the ball through midwicket for three to bring up the 50 for Hampshire, and Gubbins celebrates it with a a boundary through square leg.

    Surrey 444-9 dec v Lancs 204 & 33-1

Keaton Jennings is well and truly outfoxed by Dan Worrall.

He offers no shot to a delivery bowled from round the wicket but it swings back in and cleans him up.

Huge blow for Lancashire - 16-year-old Rocky Flintoff is next.

  4. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 11:17 British Summer Time 25 August 2024

    Derbys 429 v Glamorgan 168 & 250-7

Mason Crane has fallen for Zak Chappell's short ball, with Nick Potts positioned at deep midwicket for the pull shot.

Potts makes good ground to get around but despite his team-mates' celebrations, the ball is grounded as he dives and slides.

A life for Crane on 12. Glamorgan are still 11 runs away from avoiding an innings defeat.

Spinner Jack Carson was the main man with the ball for Sussex in Yorkshire's first innings.

What can he do in this situation?

His fourth delivery is short and Adam Lyth pulls it over mid-wicket for a maximum.

  6. wicket

    WICKET: Roland-Jones lbw b Sanderson 17published at 11:15 British Summer Time 25 August 2024

    Middlesex 257-9 v Northamptonshire 207

And another. That is both the overnight batsman back in the shed.

Leus du Plooy may well be grumbling about his dimissal as the ball clearly flicked his back pad on the way through to Lewis McManus's gloves.

Toby Roland-Jones looked well and truly nailed by Ben Sanderson's arrow straight delivery, taking his haul to 6-62.

This is moving quickly this morning.

    Surrey 444-9 dec v Lancs 205 & 28-1

Josh Bohannon spoils what would have been a maiden over from Dan Worrall by flicking his final delivery away for a single.

As you might expect, Surrey are offering up very little that is loose, and Lancashire are trying hard to avoid any kinds of rash shot.

  8. wicket

WICKET Haynes c Borthwick b Hogg 69published at 11:14 British Summer Time 25 August 2024

    Durham 531-7 dec v Notts 229 & 223-7 (f-o)

    Breakthrough!

Daniel Hogg has a fourth wicket as he takes the edge of Jack Haynes' bat and Scott Borthwick takes a super low catch at first slip.

That's the one Durham really wanted and Haynes' obdurate 172-ball innings comes to and end.

    Could the 19-year-old complete a debut five-for?

    Calvin Harrison joins Lyndon James.

    Worcs 447 v Kent 171 & 362-8 lead by 86

Alfie Ogborne avoids a pair with a boundary off James Hartshorn and then picks up a single to keep the strike.

Tom Taylor lets loose a huge appeal as a probing ball clips Ogborne through to the keeper.

The batter looks as if hes walkign off, but the umpire remains unmoved and Ogborne returns to take guard. Replays suggest it brushed his leg and not the outside edge.

    Lovely delivery, though. Maiden.
