    Surrey 64-0 v Warwickshire - target 89

Tick, tick, tick. Not long now.

You wonder if the Surrey players have made lunch plans, or maybe even brunch at this rate.

Early afternoon tee times are a near certainty.

Dom Sibley punches the ball back past Jacob Bethell to move to 34, four ahead of his skipper Rory Burns.

  2. Postpublished at 11:15 British Summer Time 13 May

    Northants 150-2 - target 558

A single to mid-wicket for George Scrimshaw takes the Northants second-innings total to 150.

Can Luke Procter - on 48 not out - complete his fifth half-century in six Championship innings? Not yet. He can only block the final ball of Josh Shaw's latest over.

Right, it's Monday morning and we know cricket followers are a bit nerdish. It's time to put that to the test!

We know that Jimmy Anderson will play his final Test against the West Indies at Lord's in July, the same ground where he made his debut in 2003.

But which other player made his England debut against Zimbabwe in that match?

Send us your answers on X (formerly Twitter) using the #bbccricket hashtag. We will reveal the answer at 12:00BST.

    Hampshire 503 v Durham 412-8

Ben Raine nudges one into the offside and that single brings up the 50 stand for him and Callum Parkinson.

It is the ninth stand of 50-plus in the match. A sure sign of how difficult it has been to take wickets.

  5. 50 runs

50 up for Surreypublished at 11:12 British Summer Time 13 May

    Surrey 51-0 v Warwickshire - target 89

... with a reverse sweep for four from Dom Sibley off the occasional spin of Rob Yates.

It's that kind of morning at The Oval.

38 more required. Sweepstake on what time they reach their target?

Five overs in 12 minutes this morning have assuaged any over-rate nerves from the visitors.

  6. 'It's not been the easiest wicket for the bowlers'published at 11:11 British Summer Time 13 May

    Hampshire 503 v Durham 411-8

    Kevan James
    BBC Radio Solent commentator

It's not been the easiest of wickets for the bowlers hence why we've only had 18 wickets over three days.

Will we get a result today? Probably not, I don't think that this wicket is going to get any worse, it's going to deteriorate. We all thought it might turn a little bit more than it has, it hasn't really done that.

So we come into the last day fully expecting a draw and I think there is some rain coming around tea time which may come at quite a good time for everyone.

  7. Dawson's recordpublished at 11:11 British Summer Time 13 May

    Hampshire 503 v Durham 411-8

After a maiden from Kyle Abbott, Liam Dawson begins bowling at the other end.

This will be the 63rd over Dawson has bowled in this innings - a personal record.

This is the left-arm spinner's third mammoth spell of the season so far:

    v Lancashire - 49-3-156-4

    v Warwickshire - 40.1-2-146-5

He gives up just one from his first over today. His figures now read 63-10-172-5.

  8. Postpublished at 11:07 British Summer Time 13 May

    Northants 145-2 - target 558

We await signs of the 'creativity' from Gloucestershire that Cameron Bancroft spoke about at the end of yesterday's play.

The second over is a pretty standard maiden from paceman Josh Shaw to nightwatchman George Scrimshaw, who has a highest first-class core of 19 not out.

Northants would like him to significantly improve on that today.

  9. Postpublished at 11:05 British Summer Time 13 May

    Surrey 41-0 v Warwickshire - target 89

Rory Burns moves to 26 with a six off spinner Jacob Bethell with Dom Sibley on 15 at the other end as Surrey tick inexorably towards their modest target.

Warwickshire have four points but have been flirting with danger in the over rate so expect to see plenty of spin, while it lasts, in order to prevent them ending up with even fewer than four for their efforts here this week.

  10. Postpublished at 11:04 British Summer Time 13 May

    Notts 503 v Lancashire 331 & 106-6

A no-ball from Dillon Pennington and a nice on-drive to the boundary from Tom Hartley adds six runs to the Lancashire total.

They trail by 66 runs now.

It's a little bit overcast here, the skies are a battleship grey as Surrey close in on victory.

The just need 58 runs but cricket is a funny game, you never know what is going to happen.

  12. Postpublished at 11:03 British Summer Time 13 May

    Northants 145-2 - target 558

Spin to start at Wantage Road as Ollie Price comes in from round the wicket.

A thick edge by nightwatchman George Scrimshaw brings him the day's opening run.

Nothing doing for Luke Procter for the rest over the over, he remains 45 not out.

Incidentally, his lowest score this season is 41 and the best is 92 - will this be the day when the left-hander posts a three-figure score?

  13. Postpublished at 11:02 British Summer Time 13 May

Jack Leaning is indeed ok to continue his vigil, despite that rap on the left hand late last night.

He strides out to take strike with Nathan Gilchrist at the other end to continue the rear-guard effort, with Brett D'Oliveira's leg-spin taking the opening over.

  14. Postpublished at 11:00 British Summer Time 13 May

  16. An hour or so of light work for leaderspublished at 10:54 British Summer Time 13 May

    Surrey 31-0 v Warwickshire - target 89 (play starts 11:00)

Surrey had already picked up a maximum eight bonus points from this game to ensure they would return to the top of Division One no matter what the result at The Oval.

The outcome remained somewhat in the balance early on day three when the hosts were 349-8 and just six ahead.

However Jamie Smith (155) and Sean Abbott (50*) took the game away from Warwickshire with a ninth-wicket stand of 115 and then Kemar Roach's magnificent 6-46 blew the visitors' hopes away on Sunday afternoon.

Rory Burns and Dom Sibley return to the middle this morning looking to tick off the 58 runs they require for another big win.

    Notts 503 v Lancashire 331 & 100-6 (play starts 11:00)

Lancashire need to reassess their approach to four-day cricket after another tough day against Nottinghamshire, according to head coach Dale Benkenstein.

The Red Rose county have yet to win a game this season and need their lower order to score another 72 runs at Trent Bridge, if they are to avoid an innings defeat.

"We've got to stay strong, stay together. We feel if two guys do get in and we can get the ball a bit soft and get them a bit tired, then we've got a chance, but obviously we've got our backs against the wall," Benkenstein told BBC Radio Lancashire., external

"It's been a combination of quite a few things that are frustrating, but that is where we are. It's about fighting as hard as we can in this game and probably reassessing as a club where we are with our four-day cricket."

  19. Kent lean on Leaning in effort to save gamepublished at 10:43 British Summer Time 13 May

    Kent 362-8 v Worcestershire 618-7 dec

    Jack LeaningImage source, Rex Features

How on earth must Jack Leaning be feeling this morning?

The Kent vice-captain has taken the levels of attrition in this three-day run-riot to new levels in an incredible effort to save the game for his side.

The 30-year-old has been at the crease for 125 overs since Saturday evening and was unbeaten on 152 at stumps after more than eight-and-a-half hours of concerted effort in the energy sapping sunshine of the Garden of England.

For context he had scored just 108 runs across his first eight innings of the season.

Leaning was also struck on the left arm in the lengthening shadows late on Sunday and finished the session practically one-handed.

Kent still trail by 256 runs and the problem for weary Worcestershire is that even if they finish the hosts off quickly and enforce the follow-on, they will still need to take another 10 in fewer than 96 overs, having already spent 129 overs in the dirt across the past two days.

  20. Glos look to push for Wantage Road winpublished at 10:38 British Summer Time 13 May

    Northants 171 & 144-2 v Glos 409 & 319-5 dec (play starts 11:00)

    Cameron BancroftImage source, Getty Images

Gloucestershire batter Cameron Bancroft believes they may need to be creative in the field to take the eight wickets they require to register their first Championship win of the season.

Having set Northants a distant target of 558 to win, the wicket of Emilio Gay for 74 just a few overs before the end of day three has made the visitors firm favourites.

Bancroft - who hit an unbeaten century in their second innings - told BBC Radio Gloucestershire: "We might not take wickets in sexy-looking ways, caught in the slips, things like that, we might have to think a bit more creatively.

"But that's all part of the fun of playing to win in conditions like this and it's a really great opportunity for us."
