Joe Clarke and Freddie McCann are having to work hard out here as the Bears bowlers have hit their straps straightaway.

McCann plays out six dots to Oliver Hannon-Dalby - who is one away from a 50th championship wicket of the campaign - before an acrobatic stop in the legside keeps Clarke down to a single.

Ed Barnard is then worked past cover for a pressure-relieving boundary from McCann to bring up the Notts fifty in the 24th over.

If Joe Clarke needed any motivation in the final match of the season, there is a tempting target.

He started the match needing 95 more Championship runs to reach the magical 1,000 mark for the season.

The 28-year-old has struggled for runs of late - his last six innings have brought him just 110 and 67 of those came in one knock against Essex.
