    Worcs 30-1 v Surrey 490

    Sam Dalling
    BBC Radio London

Gareth Roderick just nibbled at that one and the change of bowling has worked for Surrey.

  2. 50 runs

50 for Wiaan Mulderpublished at 15:06 British Summer Time 24 June

    Sussex 442 v Leics 156-4

First Championship match of the season, first 50 for Wiaan Mulder.

The South African is squared up by Sean Hunt but the ball flies down to third man for four as he reaches his half-century from 78 balls.

  3. Lancashire surge aheadpublished at 15:06 British Summer Time 24 June

    Kent 244 v Lancs 253-1

An expensive over from Matt Parkinson, who is slog swept over long on by Josh Bohannon for four and the leg spinner concedes four more two balls later, courtesy of a carve through point from the crease by Luke Wells.

Josh Bohannon gets Lancashire in front of the Kent first innings score with a pull to square leg off Jas Singh.

Four more runs punched through cover and another four carved through point to take the Red Rose to 250 in the 65th over.

  4. 'Patient knocks from Wells and Bohannon'published at 15:04 British Summer Time 24 June

    Kent 244 v Lancs 245-1

    Kevin Howells
BBC Test Match Special commentator on BBC Sounds

In both cases, Luke Wells and Josh Bohannon have had to be patient at times and this is what stands out for me. They've played some glorious shots.

Great adaptation and application. Great work.

  5. wicket

WICKET Elgar c Borthwick b Siddle 40published at 15:02 British Summer Time 24 June

    Essex 78-2 v Durham 587

Dean Elgar breaks the string of maidens from Peter Siddle at the Graham Gooch End with a slightly fortunate four to fine leg.

Three balls later the Australian has his man!

Siddle forces Elgar to play at a ball which held its line and catches an outside edge and goes at a comfortable catching height to skipper Scott Borthwick at first slip.

  6. wicket

WICKET Roderick c Foakes b Abbott 16published at 15:02 British Summer Time 24 June

    Worcs 30-1 v Surrey 490

After 10 relatively uneventful overs, Surrey call up Sean Abbott.

He only needs one ball to make the breakthrough as Gareth Roderick edges and Ben Foakes moves across in front of first slip to take the catch.

Kashif Ali comes out to bat at three.

  7. Bears reach 200 six down at Edgbastonpublished at 15:00 British Summer Time 24 June

    Warwks 200-6 v Hants 298

Michael Burgess brings up the Warwickshire 200 with a glance in front of square leg off the bowling of James Fuller.

This has been a good rear-guard from the Warwickshire lower middle order and an innings lead isn't out of the question.

  8. Great few days for Bethellpublished at 14:58 British Summer Time 24 June

    Warwicks 199-6 v Hampshire 298

    Ged Scott
    BBC Sport at Edgbaston

That is Jacob Bethell’s third fifty for the Bears in successive innings - and each one markedly different to match the circumstances. And progressively slower too.

From Thursday’s astonishing 15-ball fifty here to beat Northants - the second fastest in the 22 years of English T20 domestic cricket, to his match salvaging 56 not out at New Road to beat Worcestershire the following night.

And now this responsible effort from the Barbados-born man to nudge his side nearer to parity.

He really does have the makings of a very good all-round cricketer.

  9. Postpublished at 14:58 British Summer Time 24 June

    Kent 244 v Lancs 232-1

Width from Jas Singh and Luke Wells drives through wide mid off for four runs.

A leg side fifth ball is glanced away for an easy single.

This game has been drifting away from Kent for most of the day and a huge sea change is needed to prevent a big first innings deficit for the hosts.

  10. 100 up for Somersetpublished at 14:56 British Summer Time 24 June

    Notts 360 v Somerset 106-2

Calvin Harrison was seen doing a few press-ups in the outfield and is chucked the ball for his first over of the match.

He did well with the bat, hitting 35 in a 112-run stand with Olly Stone, but opens up with a couple of full tosses which cost him three runs.

The fourth goes legside and Tom Lammonby helps it on its way to the third man boundary despite an athletic effort from sub fielder Sammy King.

It brings up three figures for Somerset in the 32nd over.

Harrison's next also goes astray and Lammonby helps himself to back-to-back boundaries to go to 43.

  11. Postpublished at 14:56 British Summer Time 24 June

    Warwks 199-6 v Hants 298

Liam Dawson is into the attack with his left arm spin and his first ball is a bit of a loose one, knocked away to backward square leg for one.

Jacob Bethell punches a short one through extra cover for four.

The fourth ball is cut to cover for one and Michael Burgess gets one more, worked square on the on side.

Profitable over for the Bears, worth seven runs.

  12. Postpublished at 14:55 British Summer Time 24 June

We mentioned earlier that Worcestershire's Shoaib Bashir conceded 38 from a single over, including five successive sixes by Dan Lawrence for Surrey.

That equals the most expensive over in County Championship history when Surrey's Alex Tudor bowled to Andrew Flintoff of Lancashire in 1998.

  13. 100 runs

100 for Luke Wellspublished at 14:52 British Summer Time 24 June

    Kent 244 v Lancs 225-1

    Luke WellsImage source, Rex Features

Luke Wells takes guard to Matt Parkinson on 99.

Wide of off, driven and guided to third man off a thick edge for two.

That's his first century of the season and the 25th of his career.

170 balls, 12 fours and one six.

  14. wicket

WICKET Northeast c McManus b Weatherall 4published at 14:51 British Summer Time 24 June

    Glamorgan 230-4 v Northants 279

Two big wickets in successive overs for Northants.

Raphy Weatherall accounts for Sam Northeast with a perfect leg-cutter which he cannot resist playing and he is caught behind.

Chris Cooke comes out to join Kiran Carlson.

  15. Close!published at 14:49 British Summer Time 24 June

    Notts 360 v Somerset 95-2

Lyndon James is causing problems here and goes close to removing Tom Lammonby.

He goes round the wicket to the left-hander and sends down another which keeps a touch low.

Lammonby gets a bottom edge which thuds hard into the ground and somehow hops over his stumps.

    Single from the over.

  16. Division Two updatepublished at 14:48 British Summer Time 24 June

Peter Handscomb square cuts Danny Lamb for four and Leicestershire are 131-4 after bowling out Sussex for 442.

An Ethan Bamber no-ball enables Luis Reece and Wayne Madsen to post a 50 partnership for Derbyshire at Lord's - they are 108-2, but a distant 327 behind Middlesex.

Yorkshire are still striving for their first wicket at Scarborough, where Gloucestershire are 38-0 after 18 overs. Conor McKerr has bowled seven so far for tidy figures of 0-12.

  17. 50 runs

50 for Jacob Bethellpublished at 14:46 British Summer Time 24 June

    Warwks 191-6 v Hants 298

That's the third of his career and all three of them have come this summer.

Kyle Abbott drops short and Jacob Bethell fetches the ball from outside off, pulling in front of square for his sixth four.

105 balls in the innings to date.

He's a good player. One to watch for sure.

  18. Postpublished at 14:45 British Summer Time 24 June

    Essex 65-1 v Durham 587

A curious moment from Dean Elgar as the usually unflappable South African gets in a tangle.

He looks to leave the opening ball of Peter Siddle's third over which cuts back in off the pitch, prompting Elgar to stick a leg out and nudge the ball away from his off stump with his thigh.

Siddle's keen appeal is turned down. A touch high and wide.

Three singles from the over, two of them to Elgar who moves to 34. Tom Westley has 11.

  19. Postpublished at 14:44 British Summer Time 24 June

    Warwks 187-6 v Hants 298

Successive boundaries for Jacob Bethell off the bowling of James Fuller.

He pulls a short ball square and follows that up with a rather ungainly top-edged hook from the crease which scythes the ball over the keeper's head and runs away behind him to the rope.

I guess it's not how but how many.

  20. 'Bohannon is a big player for Lancashire'published at 14:44 British Summer Time 24 June

    Kent 244 v Lancs 221-1

    Scott Read
    BBC Radio Lancashire

    Josh BohannonImage source, Rex Features

    Well batted, Josh Bohannon.

His best score of the season and the first time to three figures this year.

He had a slow start in April but that can happen.

He's had a fine start to his career and is a big player for Lancashire at number three. It's a great knock.
