Pakistan are outperforming their ranking. If they want to develop they need to be playing more cricket all year round.

  2. Eng 207-4published at 36 overs

Pakistan really need to get one of these two, and sharpish. Otherwise they could be faced with a huge, perhaps almost impossible, chase.

Beautiful handy work from Amy Jones. And no, she isn't keeping. Instead, a lovely reverse sweep moves her into the 20s.

  4. Eng 201-4published at 35 overs

England double century is up, and the innings still has 90 balls left to run.

Heather Knight will be disappointed if her side doesn't get at least another 100 from here.

Amy Jones's turn to hit Diana Baig to the boundary. Baig, also a Pakistan football international, sticks her right boot out. I'm quite glad she didn't get anything on that...it would have been painful.

50 partnership up for the fifth wicket already.

Diana Baig - who was named after the late Princess of Wales - is back into the attack.

And Diana Baig - who is still named after the late Princess of Wales - is hit to the boundary by Nat Sciver-Brunt. A short ball, and the batter swivels before helping the white leather over the rope.

300 is very much ON here.

As is a Nat Sciver-Brunt century - she now has 70 from 73 balls.

Her average against Pakistan in ODIs? 83.33. Room for improvement!

Here is a look at the boundary that took Nat Sciver-Brunt to 50 a few overs back. Her timing was impeccable.

  9. Eng 187-4published at 33 overs

Lovely from England that. Or, I should say, lovely from Nat Sciver-Brunt. Starting to look ominous for Pakistan.

  10. Eng 186-4published at 32.5 overs

This time Sciver-Brunt hangs back. Sandhu drops her delivery a tad short. Sciver-Brunt cuts it to the boundary. She makes it look soooooo simple when she is batting like this.

  11. Eng 182-4published at 32.3 overs

Nat Sciver-Brunt dances at Nashra Sandhu and hits her from inside to out. Four more.

  12. Eng 177-4published at 32 overs

I wish I was that good at my third favourite sport...

A deft touch from Sciver-Brunt brings her a couple of runs to end over 32.

Nat Sciver-Brunt grew up in the Netherlands and cricket was only her third favourite sport behind football and tennis.

How lucky are we that cricket managed to hang on to her?!

Here's that Danni Wyatt dismissal from a short while ago. She won't want to see this again. That said, she won't need to: the shot will be etched into Wyatt's grey matter.

  15. Eng 172-4published at 31 overs

Can Amy Jones take advantage of that lifeline? She had just half-a-dozen to her name. Will keep an eye on how costly that proves.

Nat Sciver-Brunt is batting beautifully here. Not that anyone will be surprised by that. She has, after all, been the standout batter in women's ODI cricket for what, the last two years?

A lifeline for Amy Jones. She has belted that straight at Aliya Riaz. The midwicket fielder really ought to have taken it.

  17. Eng 167-4published at 30 overs

England going along nicely at 5.57 runs per over. Projected score is 278. I think they'd be happy enough with that.

And now we have a military flyover. A lovely way to mark Nat Sciver-Brunt's half-century. I assume that is why they are airborne...

So many impressive things about this innings from Sciver-Brunt. She came in after a couple of wickets but just so easily keeps things steady.

Some of the shots have been spectacular but she's also shown her fitness, with very good running between the wickets. It's not her fastest in terms of balls faced but she's got so much time left.

  19. 50 runs

    Eng 163-4

Nat Sciver-Brunt takes the applause of the Chelmsford crowd.

It is her 21st in ODI cricket, and came in 58 balls. England were in a touch of trouble when she arrived at the crease. Well batted.

  20. Eng 159-4published at 29 overs

Another good 'un from the Pakistan skipper Nida Dar.

By the way, Alex - I haven't had an ice cream either. Has summer even started, really?!
