    Thanks Sam.

I'm inclined to agree with Ebony - looks like Danni Wyatt and Nat Sciver-Brunt have got the feel of this pitch and are starting to enjoy themselves. Pakistan will be very keen to break this partnership (yes, yes, I know, the award for stating the obvious goes to...!).

Feels like a good time to be batting, the suns out, they've settled in just finding the gaps.

  3. 100 runs

    Eng 104-3published at 20 overs

The 100 comes up for England in the 20th over.

The over ends with Danni Wyatt opening the face and guiding the ball down to the vacant deep third area. Good running sees them get back for three.

Time for our first change of the day. It's one Sam in for another with Sam Dalling in to take you through the next phase of this England innings.

I was having this exact debate over the weekend. I play on a cricket team with my wife's personal trainer and some of her gym mates, he was bowling in a cap and I said that was a disgrace, everyone else told me I needed to lighten up a bit! I'm with you Alex!

  5. Eng 99-3published at 19 overs

Good over form Nashra Sandhu and twice she hits the advancing Nat Sciver-Brunt on the pads.

Appeals follow both times but the left-arm spinner is getting plenty of drift and the ball looked to be going well down leg each time.

It's good to see these two being positive out there, Sciver-Brunt staying in her crease looking to punch to ball, Wyatt more aggressive taking more risky shots

Nat Sciver-Brunt is always a key wicket for England's opponents.

The all-rounder is going well so far today...

  8. Eng 97-3published at 18 overs

Chance - or at least it should have been!

Danni Wyatt top-edges a sweep off Umm-e-Hani and it appears to be looping towards short fine leg.

Nashra Sandhu is there but the ball goes over her head and bounces safely. Not the most enthusiastic effort from the fielder.

The bowler will rightly feel that she could have done more to try to take the catch.

  9. Eng 92-3published at 17 overs

Nine from the over, a good one for England.

The home side are going along steadily enough but, with three wickets down already, need to be a little careful through these middle overs.

They'll want wickets in hand to give them the freedom to go hard late in the innings.

  10. 6 runs

    Eng 92-3published at 16.3 overs

    Six!

Danni Wyatt skips down the track and launches Nashra Sandhu over long-off for the first maximum of the day!

I think it looks cool to bowl in a cap but bowling in a floppy hat looks silly.

  12. Eng 83-3published at 16 overs

After that quick stumping review, England take a couple of singles from the Umm-e-Hani over.

Nat Sciver-Brunt had played a lovely, very delicate reverse sweep down to fine leg for three just before the review, too.

England are in a solid position, we're expecting dominance but we're seeing conservative play.

Nothing doing. Danni Wyatt's back foot was just behind the line and it was unmoved. On we go.

  15. Umpire reviewpublished at 15.2 overs

    Eng 81-3

Pakistan appeal for a stumping after Danni Wyatt misses with a sweep off Umm-e-Hani.

Najiha Alvi takes the bails. Did Wyatt's back foot lift? It didn't look like it but we'll see.

It should be illegal to bowl in a cap.

  17. Eng 78-3published at 15 overs

Nashra Sandhu gets through her second over and Alex Hartley still isn't happy with the cap situation...

Is bowling in a cap acceptable? Thumbs up for yes, thumbs down for no.

  19. Eng 75-3published at 14 overs

The players took drinks after that wicket but we're back under way now.

Danni Wyatt is the new batter and plays a delicate paddle sweep first ball to get off the mark with two.
