I haven't actually had an ice cream all summer yet.

  2. Eng 158-4published at 28 overs

Steady all round. England need to re-build. Pakistan would love to add another 'bang' to their...well...'bang'.

Another sumptuous shot, a beautiful cover drive. That's one of the best shots of the day.

  4. Eng 157-4published at 27.4 overs

Glorious stroke from Nat Sciver-Brunt. All in the timing. The cover boundary is breached.

  5. Eng 152-4published at 27 overs

That fourth-wicket partnership was worth 79 from 80 balls for England. Just what they needed.

However, you can see how frustrated Danni Wyatt is with her dismissal. She will take a pew in the England dressing room and re-imagine that shot a thousand times over. The ball will, in her mind's eye, clear the rope comfortably every time.

You can see Danni Wyatt isn't in a great position, she's reaching for the ball quite far away from her body so the timing just wasn't there.

    Ahhhhh Catie, you cursed it!

Danni Wyatt didn't quite get hold of that one. Caught at deep mid-wicket. Pakistan needed that.

Bouchier falls to the England batters can’t score more than 40 in an innings curse. Let’s hope Sciver-Brunt and Wyatt can break it! Wyatt is currently in dangerous territory. She’s got the skills though…

    Catie

  9. Eng 147-3published at 26 overs

Sciver-Brunt helped herself to a boundary off the first, but it's a decent comeback from Aliya Riaz. Only a single from the next five balls.

A super shot from Nat Sciver-Brunt. Up and over the top, but it was right in her hitting zone.

  11. Eng 141-3published at 25 overs

Nida Dar brings herself back into the attack. She was a tad expensive early doors, conceding 20 from her two overs. A little better this time around...eight from it.

Nat Sciver-Brunt is starting to get going, though. A lovely dance down the wicket brings her a one-bounce boundary.

Half way through the England innings. Decent platform, this.

That's a beauty from Fatima Sana. Not sure if Danni Wyatt got a little tickle or if it beat the outside edge. Najiha Alvi wasn't able to take it cleanly in any case. Signs of life in the pitch, though.

For context, Aatif had mentioned nimbus cloud formations during the mini-break. Alex Hartley thought he was referencing Harry Potter, and Aatif then confessed to never having read any of the books. Where has he been hiding for the last two decades?!

Meanwhile, Danni Wyatt finds the boundary. She moves into the 40s.

I have never seen a Harry Potter film or read any of the books.

  15. Eng 129-3published at 23 overs

Excellent over from an England perspective that one. Nine off it.

A quick change of gloves for Nat Sciver-Brunt gives us all a chance to gaze at the cloud formations. Lovely (and no sign of rain in any of them!).

I'd like to see England get 300 plus. That might put a smile on my face today.

Aliya Riaz is into the action. How did her first ball go? Danni Wyatt smokes her to the boundary. Welcome. To. The. Game.

  18. Eng 120-3published at 22 overs

An eventful over that one, wasn't it?!

The 50 partnership is up between Wyatt and Sciver-Brunt. England were wobbling at 70 - 3 but this duo have provided two steadying pairs of hands.

Sciver-Brunt, by the way, has just passed 3,000 ODI runs. Tidy.

  19. Umpire reviewpublished at 21.2 overs

    Chance of a run out...

Nat Sciver-Brunt probably ought to have got the dive out. But the stumps were broken by the gloves. Not out is the (very correct) call!

  20. Eng 115-3published at 21.1 overs

See my previous post - that is a glorious stroke from Danni Wyatt. Who doesn't love a cover drive?!
