    Sussex 284 & 256 v Worcs 180 & 274-6 (target 361)

Ollie Robinson has done Jake Libby all ends up there but again there is no edge.

The Worcs batsman then swivels and pulls a short one for four. And another for a single.

Is Robinson more likely to get a wicket with short stuff or pitching it up? Perhaps the answer is in those three deliveries.

  2. Postpublished at 14:55 British Summer Time

    Sussex 284 & 256 v Worcs 180 & 265-6 (target 361)

Matthew Waite takes a single from the last ball of that Ari Karvelas over and Sussex were happy to concede it.

It gives Ollie Robinson a shot at Waite.

  3. 'No real clear cut opportunities'published at 14:54 British Summer Time

    Essex 123 & 185-4 v Yorks 216 & 426-6 dec

    Jonathan Doidge
    BBC Radio Leeds cricket commentator

Essex may have to face more balls than they would like if they are going to hold out.

You would expect Yorkshire to take this one as deep as they can, because even with 10 overs to go if you manage to bag a couple of quick wickets, you could be back in and give the opposition a scare.

It has been placid, quiet and no real clear cut opportunities.

  4. Close!published at 14:53 British Summer Time

    Sussex 284 & 256 v Worcs 180 & 264-6 (target 361)

Short ball from Ari Karvelas is jammed down by Matthew Waite and an inside edge trickles back towards his stumps.

That could have gone anywhere but it has fallen safe.

  5. new ball

New ballpublished at 14:52 British Summer Time

    Essex 184-4 (target 520) v Yorks

Here we go, then - not Yorkshire's final throw of the dice by any means, but arguably their best chance of finding a way to pierce this Essex armour.

The new ball is taken and duly handed to Ben Coad, who pitches one short and is pulled to the fence by Matt Critchley.

Otherwise, it's five dot balls for the Yorkshire seamer- and one draws a leading edge as Critchley misjudges a leg-side flick, but the ball drops into space.

It goes without saying that the visitors could have done with it flying into a fielder's hands instead.

  6. Postpublished at 14:51 British Summer Time

    Sussex 284 & 256 v Worcs 180 & 262-6 (target 361)

    Close!

Jake Libby attempts to hook a short ball from Ollie Robinson and catches a top edge but it flies over the glove of John Simpson for four.

The new ball has brought no wickets but has delivered 25 in five overs.

Ari Karvelas is given the opportunity to make another breakthrough.

    99 needed.

An opening bat couldn't have played that any better.

OHD is fractionally short and Matthew Fisher - Surrey's number 11 - stands tall and thumps it past cover for four.

He is 39 not out and Ben Foakes has 174. Still we await our first wicket of day four.

  8. 150 runs

150 for Libbypublished at 14:48 British Summer Time

    Sussex 284 & 256 v Worcs 180 & 256-6 (target 361)

A firm push into the off side from Jake Libby brings up two runs and his 150.

This is looking an increasingly confident and potentially match winning knock with 103 needed.

  9. Postpublished at 14:46 British Summer Time

    Sussex 284 & 256 v Worcs 180 & 256-6 (target 361)

Four from Jake Libby slapped back through long on from the opening delivery of Tom Clark's over as the bowler bangs it in too short.

A hand is held up by the bowler as if to apologise to his teammates. Libby has moved to 146 and the runs needed to 108.

Another five are run from the remaining five balls and Clark could be pulled by captain John Simpson with the runs starting to flow.

    Nine from that over.

  10. Postpublished at 14:44 British Summer Time

    Essex 179-4 (target 520) v Yorks

Essex's batters are getting plenty of opportunity to practise their limbo dancing skills as Matthew Revis maintains his policy of short-pitched bowling from around the wicket.

It's a policy that has yet to bear any fruit so far for Yorkshire and you'd assume they'll have some different tactics in mind when they take the new ball very shortly.

  11. 50 runs

50 for Matt Critchleypublished at 14:38 British Summer Time

A sudden flurry of runs for Matt Critchley lifts him to his 50, cutting Matthew Revis for four and then steering him to the third man boundary alter in the over.

The all-rounder has used up 190 deliveries and spent almost four hours in the middle to get there.

It's the third time he's passed 50 this season and this partnership with Michael Pepper remains unbroken at 131.

  12. 'There are a lot of runs in this game'published at 14:37 British Summer Time

    Warks 665-5 dec v Surrey 496-9

    Phil Britt
    BBC Coventry & Warwickshire

There are a lot of runs in this game, 665 at the moment are playing 496 and we haven't even got into the second innings yet.

That is a grand total of 1,161 runs so far over the four days for the loss of 14 wickets.

  13. 150 partnership for Surreypublished at 14:35 British Summer Time

    Warks 665-5 dec v Surrey 496-9

Leg stump half-volley from Ethan Bamber, Ben Foakes clips it to mid-wicket for four.

It brings up a 150 stand with Matthew Fisher - the highest ever for the 10th wicket against Warwickshire.

The previous holders of that particular record were Geoffrey Boycott and Graeme Stevenson who put on 149 against the Bears for Yorkshire in 1982.

  14. Postpublished at 14:35 British Summer Time

    Sussex 284 & 256 v Worcs 180 & 241-5 (target 361)

Ollie Robinson's opening delivery with the new ball is not quite on the mark with a full toss despatched by Matthew Waite for four.

But he comes back well with five dots including a fifth delivery which so nearly takes the edge.

Bright sunshine now and Worcs need 120.

  15. Postpublished at 14:33 British Summer Time

    Essex 167-4 (target 520) v Yorks

Seam finally makes an appearance for the first time this afternoon, with Matthew Revis tearing in around the wicket and dropping one short of a length that Matt Critchley gratefully paddles away to the square leg boundary.

Critchley has moved on to 45, which is only 32 runs scored in almost a session and a half today. But from the home side's perspective, the words 'not out' against his name are all that matter.

  16. new ball

New ballpublished at 14:31 British Summer Time

    Sussex 284 & 256 v Worcs 180 & 241-5 (target 361)

Tight over from Tom Clark sees off the old ball for a final single.

Ollie Robinson has the new one in hand as the game enters its key phase.

And the first delivery with it is a full toss which is bullied through extra cover for four.

  17. 'That is a vital wicket'published at 14:24 British Summer Time

    Sussex 284 & 256 v Worcs 180 & 234-6

    Dave Bradley
    Cricket commentator

That vital partnership for Worcestershire has been broken, also that wicket goes down before the new ball was taken.

That is a vital wicket in this match.

  18. Postpublished at 14:24 British Summer Time

    Essex 160-4 (target 520) v Yorks

Dom Bess opts for a change of angle, bowling around the wicket and packing in a trio of close catchers on the leg side - but without any initial success.

So the off-spinner switches back to over the wicket for the last two deliveries of his over. All about trying to keep the batters guessing.

  19. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:20 British Summer Time

    D'Oliveira b Clark 29 (Worcs 234-6, target 361)

    Big, big moment.

If the match was a 50-50 job before, that beauty has tipped it Sussex's way.

Tom Clark pitches it to draw a forward defensive and Brett D'Oliveira gets in line to play it outside off stump only for it to shape in and scuttle through the gate to knock out his off stump.

That could be a pivotal incident with 127 still needed and the new ball due in just over two overs.

  20. Postpublished at 14:19 British Summer Time

    Sussex 284 & 256 v Worcs 180 & 234-5 (target 361)

This has a feel of a one day game about it now.

Glorious sunshine, 50-50 outcome. What more could you want?

James Hayes fires down the 77th over at a cost of four runs and Worcs need a further 127.

    Where is your money?
