I think it's a good call from Sri Lanka to bat first. They're going to try and make the most of this wicket. They'll be wanting to score a high amount of runs and put their team in a good position from the off.

I can't believe Australia haven't picked Alana King; she is probably their spinner who can turn it the most. They've gone for one extra seamer instead. Australia have so many options though so they'll choose the team who is best for the day I suppose.

Alyssa Healy reflects on taking the field first, saying, "I’m not too unhappy to get out there as a group for our first game, so its not such a bad thing.

"We are well prepared and there is a real calmness around the group. We’ll have to adapt pretty quickly today, the girls are in real good nick, the breeze is nice and I think we’ll manage it well."

Sri Lanka skipper Chamari Athapaththu called 'heads' and that's how the coin came down - they will bat first.

"I’m pretty confident about my batting unit," says Athapaththu. "I know the heat will be important so I hope we can execute today. We have to execute plans at the right time, but we want to play positively. I’ve told them to play fearless cricket."
