WICKET: Clark c Hameed b James 7published at 18:08 British Summer Time 22 August

    Durham 388-5 v Nottinghamshire

Late breakthrough for the visitors and it is another for Lyndon James who now has three from a day of hard graft for the Nottinghamshire bowlers.

  4. wicket

WICKET Unadkat c Tattersall b Revis 0published at 18:02 British Summer Time 22 August

    Yorks v Sussex 172-9

Matt Revis has a third as Jaydev Unadkat can't stop himself from driving at it.

Since Finley Bean dropped Tom Alsop when he was on nine, Yorkshire have been impeccable in the field.

This time it is captain Jonny Tattersall holding on at fifth slip.

Still 16 overs left tonight, if light allows.

  5. 50 runs

for Harry Camepublished at 18:02 British Summer Time 22 August

    Derbys 84-2 v Glamorgan 168

Given what has happened today at Derby, a half-century is no mean feat.

Harry Came drives straight for four and then adds two more to third man from Timm van der Gugten's next delivery to reach 50 off 84 balls.

Fraser Sheat will bowl the next one.

  6. Postpublished at 18:02 British Summer Time 22 August

    Warwickshire 227-6 v Somerset

Jacob Bethell and Michael Burgess are producing a strong rearguard action here pulling Warwickshire from the embers at 165-6 and past the 200 mark now.

The partnership is up to 62 and a total of 300 from here looks reachable.

Given the way Bethell is tucking into Kasey Aldridge and Jack Leach it could come sooner rather than later.

  7. Close of play at The Ovalpublished at 17:59 British Summer Time 22 August

    Surrey 83-0 v Lancs 204

End of a day that will could well go down as the start of a fruitful career.

16-year-old Rocky Flintoff made his debut and looked quite assured against an excellent attack in making 32.

But it was a difficult day for a young Lancashire side as they were bowled out cheaply having lost the toss.

Rory Burns, on 44, and Dom Sibley, 37, have then backed up their bowlers perfectly with an unbroken opening stand.

An almost perfect day for the Brown Caps.

  8. wicket

WICKET Robinson c Hill b Moriarty 2published at 17:58 British Summer Time 22 August

    Yorks v Sussex 171-8

    Tumbling now!

Dan Moriarty gets in on the act with a fine delivery which tickles the edge of Ollie Robinson's bat and lands in George Hill's hands at first slip.

Tom Alsop is running out of partners.

  9. Postpublished at 17:50 British Summer Time 22 August

    Worcs 102-1 v Kent 171

Contrasting boundaries for Kashif Ali as Worcestershire's total reaches three figures.

The first is edged just wide of second slip and the next driven stylishly though the covers.

Alfie Ogborne is the bowler on the receiving end and he has 1-37 from seven overs so far.

  10. wicket

WICKET Carson c Bean b Revis 12published at 17:49 British Summer Time 22 August

    Yorks v Sussex 168-7

Matt Revis celebrates taking a wicketImage source, Rex Features

Matt Revis tempts Jack Carson with a wide one and snares him.

Carson goes fishing and it is another head-height catch for Finley Bean at third slip.

Yorkshire have worked hard all day and are now getting their rewards more regularly.

  11. Lees innnings comes to an endpublished at 17:43 British Summer Time 22 August

    Durham 371-4 v Notts

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Alex Lees' innings has come to an end after 275 balls. He was bowled by Brett Hutton in the 88th over for 145, playing around a ball which hit middle and off.

Lees put on 122 for the fourth wicket with Ashton Turner, who is playing in his first County Championship match and has 53.

I don't think he was expected to play in this one originally but David Bedingham only got back from international duty with South Africa yesterday.

  12. Bad light stops playpublished at 17:42 British Summer Time 22 August

    Surrey 83-0 v Lancs 204

It has felt a little dingy for a while and the umpires have decided now is the time to take the players off at The Oval.

Messers Millns and White have hung around in the middle so there is hope for more action this evening.

Rory Burns (44) and Dom Sibley (37) were supreme in that mini-session.

  13. wicket

WICKET Holland c Charlesworth b Dale 104published at 17:40 British Summer Time 22 August

    Glos v Leics 250-5

Ian Holland swishes the air in frustration after uppercutting a short one from Ajeet Singh dale, bowled from round the wicket, to backward point.

He batted for 238 minutes, faced 173 balls and a six - but Leicestershire claim their first batting point three balls later as Rehan Ahmed pulls Dale for four.

They are now off for bad light, though.

  14. Postpublished at 17:40 British Summer Time 22 August

    Yorks v Sussex 162-6

    SPIN!

Jonny Tattersall has remembered Dan Moriarty is in his XI so after 63 overs, throws the ball to his left-arm spinner.

A solid start, just a single off Mariarty's first six.

  15. wicket

WICKET Libby c Finch b Ogborne 30published at 17:38 British Summer Time 22 August

    Worcs 89-1 v Kent 171

Alfie Ogborne isn't quick enough to bowl that short to Jake Libby, who pivots and pulls it away for four.

But a much better delivery to end the over finally produces a breakthrough for Kent as Libby edges through to keeper Harry Finch.

Kasif Ali, Worcestershire's leading Championship run-scorer this season, comes out to bat at three.

  16. Postpublished at 17:36 British Summer Time 22 August

    Surrey 81-0 v Lancs 204

Dom Sibley's eye has been causing him a little trouble. I'm not sure if something has got in it or if a contact lens has been dislodged.

Whatever it is, it is causing him some discomfort.

Lancashire to a man think he's nicked one behind but umpire David Millns isn't moving. The ball definitely moved after the bat but replays are inconclusive if there was any contact.

  17. wicket

WICKET: Lees b Hutton 145published at 17:35 British Summer Time 22 August

    Durham 369-4 v Nottinghamshire

Lees's long innings is over. And it is Brett Hutton who gets him in his second over back in the mix.

The Durham opener has been out there five and a half hours and with Hutton shaping one back into him Lees looked a little tired rather falling over on it as it hustled through his defences.

Big innings though – 145 in 275 deliveries and one which gathered a little momentum after he reached 100 steering Durham past their third batting point.

  18. 50 runs

for Rehan Ahmedpublished at 17:30 British Summer Time 22 August

    Glos v Leics 238-4

If you're going to do it, do it in style.

Rehan Ahmed dances down the track and lofts Ollie Price for a superb straight six to reach a run-a-ball 50, his third of the season.

In theory, there are 22 overs left today and plenty of time for Leicestershire to push their total out beyond 300, if they can.

  19. 150 runs

for Sussexpublished at 17:30 British Summer Time 22 August

    Yorks v Sussex 151-6

Tom Alsop continues his vigil. Of the 163 balls he's faced today, 105 of them have been either defended or left!

But he pulls out one of his attacking shots to square drive his side to 150.

  20. 100 runs

for Ian Hollandpublished at 17:28 British Summer Time 22 August

    Glos v Leics 231-4

    Ian HollandImage source, Rex Features

Ian Holland square cuts Ajeet Singh Dale and reaches an excellent century - the fifth of his first-class career - off 167 balls.

It's the 14th boundary of his innings, which has also included a six, and he has so far added 84 with Rehan Ahmed.
