Tom Alsop and John Simpson continue to negotiate some tricky bowling.

But the Scarborough Festival is more than just the cricket on the pitch.

Spectators mobbed the outfield during tea and the many children in the crowd get to meet their heroes - like this lucky little guy above!

  2. 50 runs

50 up for Worcestershirepublished at 16:30 British Summer Time 22 August

    Worcs 50-0 v Kent 171

Akeem Jordan has a slight hesitation about two steps into his run-up which looks a bit unusual.

Gareth Roderick pushes him to mid-wicket as he and Jake Libby post a 50 partnership for Worcestershire's first wicket.

It's a tidy enough over, costing Kent only thee runs, but they need some wickets. Bowling change now with George Garrett coming into the attack.

  3. wicket

WICKET Handscomb lbw Charlesworth 5published at 16:26 British Summer Time 22 August

    Glos v Leics 147-4

    An important wicket for Gloucestershire.

Australian Peter Handscomb's forward defensive bat comes down a fraction too late and that does look plumb.

Ian Holland has 64 and has been joined by Rehan Ahmed.

  4. Postpublished at 16:22 British Summer Time 22 August

    Worcs 39-0 v Kent 171

So certain is Grant Stewart that Gareth Roderick got an inside edge that his appeal celebration carries him to the batter's end of the wicket.

The ball is safely taken by Harry Finch but the umpire is unmoved and Roderick is not out.

A single for Roderick ends the over - he is 18 not out, with Jake Libby on 12.

  5. Back underway at the Riversidepublished at 16:19 British Summer Time 22 August

    Durham 267-3 v Nottinghamshire

Two singles from the first over after tea and Alex Lees has nudged a leaden footed anchor innings to 86.

The opener looks to hold the key to Durham's effort.

If the others are able to bat around the former England man the hosts could still post a formidable score.

  6. Tea at Edgbastonpublished at 16:16 British Summer Time 22 August

    Warwickshire 144-5 v Somerset

Just 42 overs on the board but they are going off for tea and it is Warwickshire's players who will need the extra sugars.

Somerset were looking decidedly grumpy and frustrated until they managed to get the ball changed not once but twice.

Since then they have carved a bit of an arc though the Warwickshire middle order to reduce them from 86-1 to five down, just one away from a second bowling point.

  7. wicket

WICKET: Broad lbw b Roland-Jones 0published at 16:16 British Summer Time 22 August

    Middx v Northants 113-7

Two overs after tea and Middlesex have another.

A full one from Toby Roland-Jones nips back a fraction, beats the inside edge of Justin Broad, and pins him lbw.

  8. Surrey reply underwaypublished at 16:14 British Summer Time 22 August

    Surrey 0-0 v Lancs 204

Rory Burns and Dom Sibley are out after tea for the start of the Surrey reply.

37 overs scheduled in the session if the light holds.

  9. Division Two updatepublished at 16:10 British Summer Time 22 August

Tom Alsop cover drives George Hill for four and leaders Sussex are 104-4 after 42 overs against Yorkshire at Scarborough.

Derbyshire have begun their reply to Glamorgan's 168 all out and Timm van der Gugten's opening over is a maiden to Harry Came.

  10. Postpublished at 16:07 British Summer Time 22 August

    Worcs 22-0 v Kent 171

Kent have entrusted the new ball to Alfie Ogborne, signed on loan from Somerset at New Road.

The left-armer is into his third over now but Kent are still awaiting a first breakthrough with a bit of sun overhead.

Ogborne bangs in a bouncer but Gareth Roderick allows it to fly through to the keeper and remains 14 not out.

  11. wicket

WICKET: Barnard c Rew b Davey 0published at 16:06 British Summer Time 22 August

    Warwickshire 144-5 v Somerset

    Another big wicket for Somerset.

Josh Davey hangs a full delivery outside off and Ed Barnard takes the bait, missing his cover drive and edging to James Rew who takes a good low catch.

That was probably a little too ambitious so early in his innings and Warwickshire are rapidly turning a position of strength – they were 86-1 – into one of some concern.

The hosts have now lost their last four for 58 runs and it is turning from frustration to elation for Somerset.

  12. A day of contrasts in CLSpublished at 16:04 British Summer Time 22 August

    Durham 265-3 v Notts - tea

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

After the heroics of Ben McKinney's debut century earlier in the day, things have slowed to a pedestrian pace in Chester-le-Street this afternoon

McKinney faced 129 balls, crashing 17 fours and a six on his way to 121. He was eventually caught at mid-wicket by Haseeb Hameed, following a top edge off Notts' debutant spinner Freddie McCann.

It ended an opening stand of 189 with Alex Lees, who in contrast has been extremely measured in his innings. At tea he has 86 from 191 balls - his last boundary was about 24 overs ago, but he is doing an important job for Durham.

Since McKinney's wicket, Scott Borthwick has departed for 26 and Ollie Robinson for 13.

  13. Tea at the Riversidepublished at 16:03 British Summer Time 22 August

    Durham 265-3 v Nottinghamshire

That is one each probably with Nottinghamshire just shading the second session, Durham posting 144-3 to climb to a first batting bonus point at 265-3.

Lyndon James has been the pick of the afternoon bowlers with 2-47 even if his wickets were gifted rather than chiselled from rock.

And going into the break this is still a commanding position for the hosts after being put in. And Alex Lees is still there with 86 from 191 balls.

  14. wicket

WICKET: Yates b Davey 69published at 15:58 British Summer Time 22 August

    Warwickshire 140-4 v Somerset

Another one for Somerset and it is the sixth time Josh Davey has removed Rob Yates.

  15. Tea at Bristolpublished at 15:58 British Summer Time 22 August

    Glos v Leics 139-3

Three runs from the final over of the afternoon session, bowled by Zaman Akhter, as Leicestershire avoid further damage.

After rain held up play for most of the morning, Rishi Patel and Ian Holland shared a 66-run opening stand before Patel was caught behind for 47.

Gloucestershire also removed Lewis Hill and Ajinkya Rahane but Holland is still there on 57 not out, having faced 111 balls and hit eight fours so far.

  16. Postpublished at 15:57 British Summer Time 22 August

    Surrey v Lancs 204

It's been an excellent second hour of the session for Surrey.

They removed Rocky Flintoff first ball after lunch before Matt Hurst, who top-scored with 46, and George Balderson, 33, settled into a steady hour of batting.

But when the breakthrough was made Surrey have then ran through the lower order and taken 6-49.

Jordan Clark, despite his waywardness, ends up with 4-57 and Dan Worrall 3-31 but it was another excellent all-round display from the Surrey attack.

  17. wicket

LANCASHIRE ALL OUTpublished at 15:51 British Summer Time 22 August

    Surrey v Lancs 204 (Williams c Foakes b Clark 0)

And then very next ball Jordan Clark has Will Williams caught behind driving outside off.

They'll take tea at The Oval.

  18. Postpublished at 15:51 British Summer Time 22 August

    Warwickshire 132-3 v Somerset

A couple haven't quite made it to the slip cordon and there is another, Jacob Bethell surviving on 1 after nicking Jake Ball, the ball going to ground just short of Craig Overton at third slip.

  19. Tea at Scarboroughpublished at 15:51 British Summer Time 22 August

    Yorks v Sussex 99-4

Sussex have spent most the afternoon teetering on the edge of a collapse, but Daniel Hughes and Tom Alsop have kept Yorkshire at bay.

Hughes took the more aggressive path to reach 53 but got himself out two balls later with a loose drive.

Alsop bedded in, and other than a drop when on nine, has been incredibly assured in his 98-ball 28.

Ben Coad and Jordan Thompson have found plenty of movement to test the batters - they share the four wickets to fall equally - with George Hill and Matt Revis uber-accurate.

  20. wicket

WICKET: Boyden c Lawes b Clark 5published at 15:51 British Summer Time 22 August

    Surrey v Lancs 204-9

Josh Boydon's debut lasts 17 balls before he drives way too early at Jordan Clark and lobs up a catch to mid-off.
