Stokes hits Krishna for back-to-back fours

    Shot!

Ben Stokes on the charge and he smokes the ball through the covers for four.

Four more! A little fiddle outside off, an edge and the ball bounces short of first slip and gets through to the fence.

Prasidh Krishna bowled a good spell earlier, removing Zak Crawley and Ollie Pope, and the tall fast bowler is back now to replace Jasprit Bumrah.

The swirling rain is back. It looks clear behind. They may hold this one out.

That was sloppy from India. An open face shot, it wasn't hit hard. Jadeja looked livid.

Ben Stokes, you are a lucky boy!

HIs latest attempt at a reverse sweep loops up off the glove but nobody behind the stumps - wicketkeeper, slip or leg gully - makes a move to try and catch.

It lands safely as Stokes shakes his glove and Ravindra Jadeja fumes.

More frustration for Jadeja as Joe Root guides the ball behind square on the off side. It should be a dot ball but it bobbles past Karun Nair and away for four.

    Exactly 80 required for England.

Sat following the Test match from the edge of our seats in a guesthouse in the provinces of Kyrgyzstan. Hoping to get some locals interested enough to start a game once Stokes has hit the winning runs.

    Matt and Richard

Intermittently checking the score sat on a fort drinking wine at Lake Skadar in Montenegro. Lots of talk of “this is do or die for Bazball” but like it or not, this is fantastic watching.

Listening to TMS whilst on holiday in Mauritius. The kids are finally in bed, and I’m slowly converting my wife to Test cricket. It may be the rum speaking, but I think England will cruise to victory.

These two are just starting to establish a partnership. This has been such a fascinating Test match, you still cannot call it and that's what we love.

  8. Eng 286-4published at 65 overs

    Root 22, Stokes 22

After five dot balls, Bumrah strays onto the pads and Stokes whips it down to long leg for a single.

With the new ball just 15 overs away, I wonder how much longer Shubman Gill will keep his premier bowler going in this spell?

It's not often you see Bumrah bowl so many overs with no wickets in the column.

  10. Eng 285-4published at 64.2 overs

    Target 371

Swing and a miss from Ben Stokes.

It was the tempter from Jasprit Bumrah, full and wide of off - and Stokes didn't need a second invitation.

Close to the edge but the England skipper might think it should have been four.

  11. Eng 285-4published at 64 overs

Ben Stokes has clearly decided on his plan against Ravindra Jadeja and it consists of reverse sweeping, reverse sweeping and more reverse sweeping.

After three of them get him nowhere, he gets the fourth through the infield and out to deep point for one.

We've got 32 overs left in the day and England need 86 more to win.

Glued to this Test in sunny Tenerife, probably the only Scotsman wearing a England cricket Test shirt cheering every run and hoping their battery lasts on the phone.

    Graham H

Really don’t care if England win or lose this - both teams have given it a right good go and the beauty of Test cricket is that it’s not always the win that matters. More please.

    Good running.

Ben Stokes pushes the ball to mid-on and calls Joe Root through for a quick single.

That's the only run from another Jasprit Bumrah over.

  14. Eng 283-4published at 62 overs

33 overs left in the day

Wow. What a delivery that is from Ravindra Jadeja!

He switched to round the wicket and is instantly making things happen. The ball after the review pitches on middle and off and turns just enough to beat Joe Root's bat - and narrowly miss off stump.

Root had reverse-swept the first ball of the over for four and then somehow turns a clip to mid-on for a quick single into a three.

Karun Nair slipped to let the ball through and the England batters really hustled.

After a very eventful over, England need another 88 runs to win.

India have no reviews left. This is a familiar territory we are in.

    And breathe!

That looked very close as Joe Root planted his front foot. Jadeja was utterly convinced...

But ball-tracking shows it was sliding just down leg.

    Ravindra Jadeja is extremely confident.

Stokes is not looking at his most fluent. He is looking a bit static at the crease and he is a bit stabby on the front-foot.

Jasprit Bumrah takes a tumble after delivering a full ball to Ben Stokes from round the wicket.

Maiden over but those traffic cones mentioned by Stephan yesterday and again earlier today, are up and singing with England 96 runs from victory.

Meanwhile, Bumrah heads off the field at the end of the over - perhaps he grazed his knee?
