Right, we've finally picked a new ball and Shardul Thakur is going to take it, replacing Krishna for just his fourth over of the innings.

A couple of runs come off the first six balls of his spell.

Ben Duckett's 137 is the second highest score by an England opener in the fourth innings of a test. He is second to Mike Atherton's 185 not out in 1995.

A reverse sweep for six? That takes some doing. Rishabh Pant gives Duckett a little touch on the arm to say well done.

    That's quite a shot.

Ben Duckett leaps into position and reverse sweeps Jadeja's final delivery for a flat six.

The ball appears to have been scuffed heavily beyond the boundary and the ball briefcase is out - that'll be the third this innings.

Can someone tell Duckett and Root to slow down please? I'm looking forward to listening to the conclusion on TMS on my commute home, so if they could aim to knock the last runs off sometime between 5.30 and 6 that would be ideal. Cheers!

Ben Duckett scores his 19th and 20th fours of the innings, firing Krishna through the covers and then hooking a short ball behind the keeper.

He retains the strike with a final-ball single, moving to 136 from 153 deliveries.

On the first day, so many contributions were from people saying England were rubbish and not competing at the highest level. Where are those armchair experts today? This is a cracking Test match with all results still on the table.

Remember this is the first time Jasprit Bumrah has bowled in a second innings since his back injury in January and the subsequent extended break.

His only matches since the first week of the year have been T20s.

I wouldn't have Bumrah coming back in from this end. He is not looking as effective as he has done and India are struggling to contain this England batting side.

  10. Eng 229-2published at 50 overs

Ben Duckett inside edges Bumrah into the leg side for a single before Joe Root faces five balls without scoring.

A reminder that tea has been pushed back until 16:30 BST, so we'll be carrying on for a while yet.

Joe Root has such an ability to keep the scoreboard ticking over, without looking as though he is in any sort of rush. It's all on his terms.

It now favours England by a reasonable margin.

Rain in the air. Trumpeter plays Bring Me Sunshine. Cheers from the crowd.

  15. Eng 224-2published at 48 overs

Root and Duckett both take fours off Bumrah, respectively working the ball through backward point and pulling through backward square.

There seems to be both sunshine and some umbrellas up in the crowd at Headingley - a real mixed-bag weather-wise.

Seriously. Come on, nobody really thought England would do this without drama. England will be 368-9 with an over to go and rain clouds over head.

Prasidh Krishna has got the ball moving in this spell averaging 1.44° of swing movement, the highest for any of his spells in this Test match.

Where was this Prasidh Krishna a few days ago? That was 88 mph. A terrific delivery.

  19. Eng 215-2published at 47 overs

    All going on.

Joe Root runs a leg bye and Ben Duckett tries to come back for a second after a fumble from mid-on backing up, but he's sent back by Root and has to dive for his crease.

Krishna then beats the bat with a superb rising delivery at pace, which initially has Ben Duckett open-mouthed until he replaces that with a wry grin.

Duckett is in the zone. Everything he does is like a Swiss watch at the moment, it's all moving together.
