"The tallest tower on the Manhattan graph after that over!" bellows the American announcer on the public address system.

I see what he's done there. The ground in Eisenhower Park is quite some distance from downtown New York, but if you climb up to the top of one of the stands and look the other way you can just about see the famous skyline right on the horizon.

Hardik Pandya is such a valuable player for India. He is a match-winner with the bat but when he adds his bowling to the equation, when he's fit and in form, he makes India such a complete team.

  3. Postpublished at 16:17 British Summer Time 12 June

This was the key wicket of Aaron Jones, who has been so impressive this World Cup but departed for just 11.

    That's a rare thing, a well-timed pull shot!

  5. 6 runs

    USA 37-3published at 8.5 overs

    That's more like it.

New bowler Shivam Dube is too short and Steven Taylor finally nails a pull shot off the middle of the bat that flies over mid-wicket for six.

The ball actually smacked into the chest of a security guard who was not looking.

That will sting - but he looks to be okay.

Up in the stands USA fans Jason Jackson and his son Wesley have made the trip over from Washington DC for this match. They are attending their first game of the World Cup.

They both became hooked on cricket a few years back and Wesley, 17, now plays club and age group cricket in the nation's capital.

"The US beating Pakistan was such an incredible moment for cricket," Wesley says.

"We knew India would be a really tough game, though."

Nitish Kumar is a very technical player, probably more of a one-day style player so maybe not the most powerful but he'll run very well between the wickets.

But, on this pitch, it might be the best style of play because a score of 30 or 40 is probably worth double.

  8. USA 26-3published at 8 overs

Nitish Kumar is the new batter and gets off the mark with a push into the covers.

    USA need something special here.

A good, well-directed bouncer. It's very tricky to time the ball on this pitch, to really put your hands through it.

    Daniel Norcross

How many times have we seen batters get out to the short ball on this pitch? It is so two-paced, so unpredictable.

    Timothy Abraham
BBC Sport at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York

Aaron Jones was clubbing the ball out of the ground in Texas in the USA's first two games. However, the slightly slower pitch and bigger boundaries in New York always made this outcome likely.

A huge blow to the co-hosts.

  12. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 7.2 overs

    Jones c Siraj b Hardik 11 (USA 25-3)

And that platform has just collapsed.

Aaron Jones goes for the pull shot off a short Hardik Pandya delivery but the timing is not there and the ball fizzes off the top edge straight to Mohammed Siraj at fine leg.

    USA's dangerman has to go.

These two are a huge part of the USA side, two of the best batters. They're just setting the platform here.

We've seen Corey Anderson batting quite low so far, which has surprised me. But he can be destructive.

    Alex Hartley
Former England bowler on BBC Sounds

There's no let-off in this India attack. Usually as a batting team you can pick a bowler to target but not here.

USA have got to try something different.

  15. USA 25-2published at 7 overs

Woah there. Jasprit Bumrah bangs one in short to try and lure Steven Taylor into an attacking stroke, but the ball leaps up off the surface and away for five wides. That really took off.

Bumrah changes angle and goes around the wicket to Taylor, who plays and misses to a brilliant ball outside off stump.

Can you believe they're taking this stadium down tomorrow? I think I'll miss it.

Shreyas is here at the ground in Eisenhower Park to see one player. His hero, Virat Kohli.

"I moved from India to the US in 2009 so have obviously watched most of Virat's career on television," he says.

"The chance to see him bat here in New York was one I simply could not miss."

    The USA are going nowhere.

  20. USA 18-2published at 6 overs

Hardik Pandya bowls the final over of the powerplay at the cost of just one run.

India well and truly on top. Those two quickfire wickets really stunted USA's attacking intent.
