Summary

  1. USA 100-7published at 18 overs

No five-fer for Arshdeep Singh. But I'm sure he will settle for figures of 4-9.

Arshdeep Singh has bowled beautifully. He got the ball moving earlier on, and is now executing his short stuff really well.

Nobody has taken a five-wicket haul at this ground. Three balls for Arshdeep Singh to make a bit of history here.

Their hopes of getting to 120 are receding.

  5. wicket

    Harmeet c Pant b Arshdeep 10 (USA 98-7)

    That drop didn't prove costly.

Harmeet Singh goes for a wild swing and can only feather through to Rishabh Pant who takes a routine catch.

Well, Siraj pulled off a blinder earlier!

That one hung in the air for a long time and he misjudged it. He ended up having to dive forward which made it trickier.

  7. dropped catch

Harmeet Singh dropped on ninepublished at 17.1 overs

Mohammed Siraj took a beauty of a catch earlier but he drops a clanger here.

Harmeet Singh pulls towards deep square-leg and Siraj gets his position wrong. By the time he realises it is too late.

Anderson was trying to whack it down the ground but it's gone very far up, but with very little distance.

Rishabh Pant did well there, he had to cover a lot of ground. He nearly took out the square leg umpire!

  10. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 16.5 overs

    Anderson c Pant b Hardik 15 (USA 96-6)

    In the air and out.

Corey Anderson looks to heave it over mid-wicket but the ball just flies straight up into the air.

Rishabh Pant immediately screams for the catch as he sprints towards square leg and pouches it.

The players from Phoenix XI - here supporting the USA - are among those in New York who hope to keep cricket going on this site after the T20 World Cup finishes.

When the temporary stands are taken down the ground itself will be turned over to Nassau County who have promised to keep it for local cricketers.

"It will be amazing to play on a pitch one used by some stars of world cricket," they tell me.

  12. Not outpublished at 16.2 overs

It did come off the shoulder. Harmeet Singh survives.

That's got to be out, hasn't it? Rishabh Pant has barely appealed.

Maybe it's come off his shoulder.

  14. Inda reviewpublished at 16.2 overs

Harmeet Singh goes for a pull off a short delivery from Hardik Pandya and the ball brushes off something before looping through to Rishabh Pant.

Was there bat on it? India ask for another look.

I didn't expect that shot from that ball to end up there but Harmeet Singh will take it!

95-5 doesn't sound like a lot but we've watched a lot of cricket on this ground and I think, especially considering they lost two wickets in the first over, that the USA have batted very admirably.

  17. 6 runs

    USA 95-5published at 16 overs

    It's unconventional, but it works.

Harmeet Singh goes for a pull that flies off the top-edge and has enough power to go over fine leg.

Harmeet follows that up with a much more orthodox drive that brings three.

Jasprit Bumrah is getting a bit of tap.

Let's call that a guided edge, shall we? An extraordinary shot but it's gone flying off the bat.

  19. USA 85-5published at 15.1 overs

Jasprit Bumrah returns and Corey Anderson helps himself to a four by opening the face and guiding the ball very, very fine to the rope.

If he meant it that was a remarkable shot.

We saw some brilliant shots from Nitish Kumar - this was probably the best of the lot.
