  1. 'Not the approach Durham needed'published at 17:51 British Summer Time 19 May

    Lancashire v Durham 97-3 (target 475)

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

This is not the approach Durham needed, with about 45 minutes of play left they could be five or six down at this rate.

  2. 200 up for Essexpublished at 17:49 British Summer Time 19 May

    Essex 203-4 (target 330) v Warwicks

Suddenly, the cheers among the home crowd are gaining in volume as Jordan Cox and Matt Critchley propel their side above the 200 mark - and they need just another 127 for victory.

Cox has just taken advantage of successive stray leg-side deliveries from Michael Rae, glancing both to the rope to advance to 73 not out, while Critchley has 36.

    Warwickshire badly need a wicket.

  3. wicket

WICKET Borthwick b Lyon 39published at 17:47 British Summer Time 19 May

    Lancashire v Durham 97-3 (target 475)

Nathan Lyon strikes for the first time in this innings.

Scott Borthwick leaves the ball initially, then goes after the fourth ball with a miscued sweep.

The ball thuds into middle and leg and Borthwick raps his hand on the bat in frustration.

Keeper-batter Ollie Robinson is in next.

  4. 100 for Labuschagnepublished at 17:47 British Summer Time 19 May

    Division Two latest

Glamorgan opener Marnus Labuschagne has just gone to his 31st first-class century.

In his first appearance of the season for the county, the 28-year-old got there off 176 balls with a 17th boundary.

The Australia batter has guided the hosts to 219-3 and they now lead Middlesex by 59 runs.

Gloucestershire have bowled out Leicestershire for 371 and enforced the follow-on. They begin their second innings still trailing by 335.

Northants are going along well in their second innings against Derbyshire. Opener Emilio Gay has gone past fifty and they're 119-2, leading by 179.

  5. Postpublished at 17:46 British Summer Time 19 May

    Lancashire v Durham 97-2 (target 475)

This is a daunting target for any side to chase but the Blackpool pitch is playing well and so is Durham skipper Scott Borthwick.

He's on 39 and gets away with a leg bye off Tom Aspinwall.

David Bedingham defends initially, then sees out the over with a back-footed punch down the ground for four.

  6. wicket

WICKET: Brown b Paterson 2published at 17:44 British Summer Time 19 May

    Notts v Hants 44-5 (target 169)

Dane Paterson (Notts)Image source, Rex Features

Dane Paterson races away in one direction while Ben Brown's off stump flies away in the other!

That's an absolute ripper of a ball from the Nottinghamshire seamer - and the home side are firm favourites now.

Hampshire need another 125 and, in effect, they have only four wickets standing.

Or is there yet another twist here?

  7. Postpublished at 17:39 British Summer Time 19 May

    Somerset 554 v Kent 178 & 285-1 f/o

Zak Crawley is batting serenely and takes four more runs off Lewis Gregory with a front footed drive through cover.

The Somerset skipper drops short and Crawley pulls square for four more.

A pause in play as the umpires are invited to inspect the ball... and it's going to be changed for the fourth time in this innings.

  8. 'Surrey face Hampshire next'published at 17:35 British Summer Time 19 May

Result: Surrey beat Worcs by 281 runs

    Dan Whiting
    BBC Radio London

Surrey win this encounter by 281 runs and now they go and face Hampshire at the Utilita Bowl on Friday before the County Championship takes a little break for a month.

We'll see if Rory Burns and his side can continue their march towards a three-peat.

  9. Aspinwall strikes againpublished at 17:35 British Summer Time 19 May

Durham 85-2 need another 390 to beat Lancs

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Durham have been set an improbable 475 to beat Lancashire. If they are to pull if off it would be their greatest run chase, beating their 453-9 at Taunton in 2004.

They got off to a good start with the bat, playing some positive shots, but really needed to get through the session without loss. That hasn't happened though.

Following his five-for in the first innnings, 20-year-old seamer Tom Aspinwall was brought into the attack in the 17th over and got Alex Lees with his second delivery.

The batter chased one wide of off stump and clipped it to the keeper when he was on 40. It ended an opening stand of 83 with Scott Borthwick.

The Durham skipper is lucky to still be out there though, having been dropped by Luke Wells at first slip, off the bowling of spinner Nathan Lyon, when on 21. He now has 37.

And now Aspinwall gets Colin Ackermann without scoring for his seventh wicket in the match.

  10. wicket

WICKET: Ackermann b Aspinwall 0published at 17:33 British Summer Time 19 May

    Lancashire v Durham 85-2 (target 475)

It just gets better and better for Tom Aspinwall...

The 20-year-old, making only his second first-class appearance, now has seven wickets in the match - and figures of 2-4 in this innings.

Colin Ackermann is castled without scoring by a ball that comes in and then straightens to hit the stumps.

Plenty resting on the shoulders of first-innings centurion David Bedingham as he comes out to the middle.

  11. wicket

WICKET: Dawson c Young b James 6published at 17:30 British Summer Time 19 May

    Notts v Hants 41-4 (target 169)

Liam Dawson played a massive role in rescuing Hampshire's first innings - but he can do no more as the visitors sink deeper into trouble second time around.

Dawson drives Lyndon James straight into the hands of short cover - and in effect, with Tom Prest out of the game due to a shoulder injury, Hampshire have lost half of their wickets.

They still need 128 as Ben Brown comes to the crease.

  12. SURREY BEAT WORCESTERSHIRE BY 281 RUNSpublished at 17:27 British Summer Time 19 May

    Surrey v Worcs 231 (target 513)

This is either madness or genius. Dan Lawrence went for just shy of 50 runs in three overs but he's been brought back to bowl another spell.

Ben Gibbon is immediately down the track to the off spinner, scooping the ball through mid wicket for four.

But he's out two balls later.

He tries a reverse sweep and the ball is high in the air...

Dan Worrall runs in from what is now a leg side boundary and takes the catch a couple of yards or so in front of the rope.

A defiant Worcestershire stand worth 71 in 10 overs is broken by batting hero Dan Lawrence, who hit 50s in each innings and that catch by Dan Worrall, who took 10 wickets in the match.

Worcestershire were riding high when they cut Surrey down to 15-4 on Friday morning but this is a resilient team, laced with talent and ever further away from their nearest rivals at the top of the table.

  13. wicket

WICKET: Lees c Hurst b Aspinwall 40published at 17:27 British Summer Time 19 May

    Lancashire v Durham 83-1 (target 475)

It's been quite a game already for Tom Aspinwall, with five wickets in Durham's first innings, and now the medium-pacer makes the breakthrough with his second ball.

Aspinwall moves the ball away from Alex Lees, who gets an edge and wicketkeeper Matty Hurst reacts quickly as he dives in front of first slip to take the catch one-handed.

Colin Ackermann is in now to join his captain Scott Borthwick.

  14. 150 runs

150 for Zak Crawleypublished at 17:26 British Summer Time 19 May

    Somerset 554 v Kent 178 & 269-1 f/o

This has been a splendid knock from the Kent and England opener.

It's hard to believe he's only passed 40 once this summer before today.

He reaches the landmark with a drive through cover off Migael Pretorius.

  15. Postpublished at 17:24 British Summer Time 19 May

    Surrey v Worcs 225-9 (target 513)

Sean Abbott bowls to Ben Gibbon, who smashes a half tracker over square leg for six.

He clubs a single just short of Dan Lawrence and then Yadvinder Singh spins across to slap a short ball through square leg for four.

    That's a 10th wicket stand of 50 in just 38 balls!

A pause in play as the umpires decide to change the ball. To be fair, at has been smashed into the Galadari Stand quite a lot.

  16. 'Both sides have had their moments'published at 17:21 British Summer Time 19 May

    Notts v Hants 33-3 (target 169)

    Robbie James
    BBC Radio Solent commentator

I just wonder here if Hampshire are just trying to survive the day a little bit and that can be a downfall for a lot of sides, especially when you're not chasing a particularly large total.

You can end up thinking we've just got 15 overs to bat to see out today and then get the job done easy peasy tomorrow but they need to make sure that they're in a decent position going into tomorrow and that would mean not really losing any more wickets than three, that is for sure.

This game is very much alive.

It has been a good game of County Championship cricket, both sides have had their moments.

  17. Postpublished at 17:19 British Summer Time 19 May

    Surrey v Worcs 214-9 (target 513)

Gus Atkinson persists with the short ball to Yadvinder Singh, who is back and across to flay the ball through point for four.

That takes the gap under 300.

There's a pause in play as the next ball strikes him on the wrist.

The physio is waved away and Singh sees out the over.

  18. 50 for Jordan Coxpublished at 17:19 British Summer Time 19 May

    Essex 168-4 (target 330) v Warwickshire

Jordan Cox (Notts)Image source, Rex Features

A round of applause for Jordan Cox as he paddles a short ball from Che Simmons for a single to bring up his half-century.

Cox fell for 47 during Essex's first innings, but he's improved on that this time - exactly what the home side need as they pursue 330.

While Cox and Matt Critchley remain together, they're in with a shout - the pair have added 56 now and they've just passed the halfway point in this victory chase.

  19. Kent surge past 250published at 17:17 British Summer Time 19 May

    Somerset 554 v Kent 178 & 257-1 f/o

Zak Crawley is forward to Jack Leach and gets an inside edge to fine leg for one to bring up the 250 in the 58th over.

At the other end, Daniel Bell-Drummond stays in the crease and pulls Migael Pretorius through mid wicket for four.

Seven runs off the over in all.

  20. Postpublished at 17:14 British Summer Time 19 May

    Surrey v Worcs 209-9 (target 513)

Gus Atkinson tests Yadvinder Singh out with another bouncer and the Pears number 11 ducks.

Dan Lawrence has gone for 49 in three overs and he's been replaced by Sean Abbott.

Ben Gibbon carves the second ball through the off side but he'll only have time to run for one.

A decent shot from Yadvinder Singh pushes the ball through cover for two runs.

An Abbott bouncer hits Singh on the shoulder and is picked up at leg slip.

Singh digs out a yorker to end the over.
