    Somerset 554 v Kent 178 & 32-0 (f/o)

Shot! Craig Overton drops short and Ben Compton moves back and pulls the ball in front of square leg for four.

Overton bowls fuller and Compton defends.

79 overs left in the day if conditions allow and that means Somerset should have a second new ball available just before the close.

Jack Leach is going to have a bowl to Zak Crawley with a short leg and a slip in play.

Crawley stretches forward to the fourth ball and drives to wide long on for one. The ball was airborne for a while but lands safely.

Two runs to Compton, dabbing a shorter ball into the off side.

  2. Postpublished at 12:50 British Summer Time 19 May

    Somerset 554 v Kent 178 & 23-0

Lovely shot from Ben Compton, who waits for Craig Overton and steps half forward to glance the ball sweetly through square leg for four.

Zak Crawley is forward to Lewis Gregory, dropping the ball into the off side for a single.

A bright start for both Kent openers, albeit with some slightly risky shots from Zak Crawley earlier on.

    Surrey v Worcs 11-1 (target 513)

It's a soft dismissal as Gareth Roderick is forward and across to Dan Worrall trying to glance the ball to fine leg and nicking it through to keeper Ben Foakes, who crouches and takes it at waist height.

Kashif Ali is in at three.

  4. Postpublished at 12:44 British Summer Time 19 May

Dan Worrall gets good carry and gets a ball to whizz past the shoulder of Gareth Roderick.

Kemar Roach continues from the Pavilion End.

Jake Libby gets a four clipped wide of Sean Abbott through mid wicket.

Spectacular catch by Che Simmons and Michael Rae has his second wicket!

Nick Browne drives and Simmons, at short cover, flings himself to his right to clasp the ball.

The two Bears debutants combine to put their side back in control as Essex chase 330 to win.

Skipper Tom Westley is next in for the home side.

  6. Experienced heads for Yorkshirepublished at 12:42 British Summer Time 19 May

    Division Two latest

Yorkshire have a couple of experienced men in the middle it's safe to say as they try and chase 183 to beat Sussex.

Adam Lyth and Joe Root, with more than 30,000 first-class runs between them, are batting with Yorkshire 37-2.

Glamorgan have begun their second innings with a deficit of 160 after bowling Middlesex out for 343.

Leicestershire opener Rishi Patel has just reached his century and the Foxes are yet to lose a wicket against Gloucestershire today. They're 204-5 but still 502 behind.

The game is still in the balance between Derbyshire and Northants. Derbyshire have just lost a fourth wicket - Ben Sanderson bowling Danny Lamb for 52. They're 257-4 in their first innings and trail by 165.

  7. Postpublished at 12:40 British Summer Time 19 May

    Somerset 554 v Kent 178 & 19-0

Zak Crawley drives straight without quite timing the ball bowled by Craig Overton but he gets a single.

Ben Compton blocks out the over and avoids the Overton glare!

Lewis Gregory gets some away movement off the seam and Crawley withdraws his bat from harm's way.

He drives the second ball down the ground for two.

The fourth ball is driven and edged over the slips to third man for four.

Ooh! Another ball driven over the slips for four.

  8. 'Early wicket is what Bears definitely wanted'published at 12:39 British Summer Time 19 May

    Essex 8-1 (target 330) v Warwickshire

    Clive Eakin
    BBC CWR Sport

Michael Rae has turned out to be a good emergency signing for Warwickshire.

He's taken his opportunity even if he doesn't sign a longer deal with Warwickshire. You feel that any other county that needs an overseas bowler might look at this performance and think he might be worth a pop.

That's what Warwickshire definitely wanted, a nicely early wicket just to swing the pendulum back towards them a little bit.

  9. 50 partnership for Clarke and Haynespublished at 12:37 British Summer Time 19 May

    Notts 235 & 97-4 v Hants 276

Good effort by this Nottinghamshire fifth-wicket pair, as they try to claw back the initiative in a match that's swung one way, then the other throughout these two and a bit days.

Joe Clarke has 36, with Jack Haynes on 20 as the Notts lead grows to 56.

  10. Postpublished at 12:34 British Summer Time 19 May

    Surrey v Worcs 1-0 (target 513)

    Maiden from Kemar Roach.

Three slips in for Dan Worrall and Gareth Roderick is well forward to defend.

Just a single from the over.

  11. Postpublished at 12:32 British Summer Time 19 May

    Somerset 554 v Kent 178 & 8-0

Good first over from Craig Overton, conceding just one run to Zak Crawley.

Lewis Gregory will bowl from the River End and Crawley gets an inside edge safely into the on side for one.

Ben Compton gets a bit of width outside off and drives through point for four runs.

The fourth delivery is a no ball.

  12. wicket

WICKET: Khushi lbw b Rae 0published at 12:31 British Summer Time 19 May

    Essex 0-1 (target 330) v Warwickshire

Not the start Essex were after as they begin this chase of 330...

Feroze Khushi is gone first ball, lbw to Michael Rae and Warwickshire spirits - which were probably a bit low after their shocking performance with the bat second time around - are immediately lifted.

Nick Browne is in at three for the home side.

  13. 'This game has ebbed and flowed'published at 12:29 British Summer Time 19 May

    Sussex v Yorkshire 25-2 (target 183)

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex

Sussex added just 33 this morning with Tom Alsop’s battling innings lasting nearly six hours ending 14 runs short of what would have been a well deserved century.

Chasing 183 to win Yorkshire have already lost Finlay Bean and Shan Masood the later to an excellent diving catch by John Simpson off the bowling of Ollie Robinson.

Joe Root is now at the crease as this game that has ebbed and flowed throughout takes another twist.

    Surrey 213 & 419-9 v Worcs 128 & 0-0 - target 513

Five sessions of play left in the game.

    Five and a quarter, actually.

Gareth Roderick and Jake Libby are ready to bat, bat and bat.

Roderick will face the first ball of the innings, bowled by Kemar Roach.

Two slips, a leg slip and a short mid wicket in play.

  15. 'Bell will be fine, he's a good young player'published at 12:26 British Summer Time 19 May

    Lancashire 357 & 149-4 v Durham 236

    Scott Read
    BBC Radio Lancashire

It's not quite happening for George Bell at the minute but he's a good young player, I'm sure he'll be fine and it'll come for him at some point in the not too distant future but not today.

  16. Kent following on at Tauntonpublished at 12:25 British Summer Time 19 May

    Somerset 554 v Kent 178 & 0-0

Zak Crawley and Ben Compton return to the middle with a mountain to climb.

    Great bowling, superb catch!

The keeper takes a wonderful diving catch.

  18. SOMERSET ENFORCE THE FOLLOW ONpublished at 12:22 British Summer Time 19 May

    Somerset 554 v Kent 178 & 0-0

The Kent innings will get underway shortly.

  19. 'Essex give themselves a chance to win the game'published at 12:22 British Summer Time 19 May

    Essex 162 v Warwickshire 397 & 94

    Clive Eakin
    BBC CWR Sport

It's been a very good bowling performance by Essex, particularly by Simon Harmer and Matt Critchley today.

They have wrapped up the Warwickshire innings who added 51 more runs but are well short of where they want to be.

They've still got a decent target to bowl at but Essex have certainly given themselves a chance of winning the game that looked well beyond them at the end of the first innings.

  20. wicket

WICKET: Bell lbw b Stokes 17published at 12:21 British Summer Time 19 May

    Lancashire 357 & 135-4 v Durham 236

Second wicket of the innings for Ben Stokes!

The England captain dismisses George Bell lbw and Lancashire are four down, leading by 256.

Tom Bruce comes out to join Keaton Jennings.
