  1. 50 runs

50 partnership for Lewis and Smalepublished at 14 overs

    Hants v Lancs 71-1 (target 289)

Were you listening just then, Gaby Lewis?

Never mind going into her shell - the Lancashire opener pops her head out again and lifts Bex Tyson over the top for four, then sweeps the next delivery to the rope as well!

    Good over for Lancashire.

  2. Postpublished at 13 overs

    Hants v Lancs 61-1 (target 289)

It feels as though Gaby Lewis has retreated into her shell somewhat after some commanding earlier strokeplay, but maybe she recognises the need to bat long if Lancashire are going to challenge this Hampshire total.

Just one run from Mary Taylor's first five deliveries, but then Seren Smale cuts the sixth through the gap on the off-side behind square to pick up a boundary.

  3. Postpublished at 12 overs

    Hants v Lancs 56-1 (target 289)

We get our first sighting of spin in this innings as left-arm twirler Bex Tyson replaces Freya Davies.

A steady start for Tyson, whose first over goes for four singles.

Lancashire need another 233 from 38 overs.

  4. 50 runs

50 up for Lancashirepublished at 11 overs

    Hants v Lancs 52-1 (target 289)

Mary Taylor's second over is a better one and Lancashire collect three singles as they pass the 50 mark.

If it's any indication of the batting side's chances here, the target of 289 is just one above what Hampshire chased to win the semi-final against Surrey on this ground - with 17 balls to spare.

  5. Postpublished at 10 overs

    Hants v Lancs 49-1 (target 289)

This is really consistent bowling from Freya Davies, who sends down five successive dot balls to close out the powerplay.

She's denied a maiden by a single for Seren Smale off the final delivery of the over, with some more acrobatic fielding by Freya Kemp in the covers ensuring Lancashire don't get any more than that.

  6. Postpublished at 9 overs

    Hants v Lancs 48-1 (target 289)

First bowling change by Hampshire, as Daisy Gibb gives way to fellow seamer Mary Taylor.

Taylor is deposited for four by Seren Smale, an eye-catching straight drive that relied on timing rather than power.

Smale follows that up with another boundary backward of square and it's a good over for Lancashire.

  7. Postpublished at 8 overs

    Hants v Lancs 37-1 (target 289)

Again, this is a tight over from Freya Davies, giving away just another single to Seren Smale.

It means the required rate climbs to exactly a run-a-ball, but that shouldn't worry Lancashire at this stage as long as they keep those nine remaining wickets in hand.

  8. Postpublished at 7 overs

    Hants v Lancs 36-1 (target 289)

Seren Smale finally gets to face her first delivery and steers it for a single, but it's Gaby Lewis who's doing most of the heavy lifting at the other end.

An edged four off Daisy Gibb means she's scored 28 of Lancashire's 36 runs so far.

  9. Postpublished at 6 overs

    Hants v Lancs 28-1 (target 289)

Gaby Lewis, looking to get straight back in the zone after the loss of Alice Clarke, latches onto a Freya Davies half-volley and pumps it to the fence.

She's unable to fully capitalise on that start to the over, although a leg-side misfield from Bex Tyson enables the batter to pick up another two runs.

  10. 'Rabbits in headlights'published at 14:35 BST 21 September

    Hants v Lancs 20-1

    Kevan James
    BBC Radio Solent commentator

Rabbits in headlights is a phrase that comes to mind.

There's been a couple of times just before that where there was a hint that maybe the pair weren't on the same wavelength in terms of calling between the wickets.

That's a wicket that Lancashire could have done without.

  11. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 5 overs

Clarke run out 3 (Hants v Lancs 20-1)

Arrow throw from Freya Kemp and Hampshire have their first wicket!

Alice Clarke pushed Daisy Gibb out on the leg side, there was some hesitation between her and Gaby Lewis and the striker ended up heading back to base - but too late to beat Kemp's direct hit.

Seren Smale is the new batter for Lancashire.

  12. Postpublished at 4 overs

    Hants v Lancs 18-0 (target 289)

Consistent line and length again from Freya Davies, who's making it difficult for Gaby Lewis to get the ball away.

Just a single from the over.

  13. 'Steady start from Lancashire'published at 14:24 BST 21 September

    Hants v Lancs 17-0 (target 289)

    Scott Read
    BBC Radio Lancashire commentator

It's a pretty steady start this from Lancashire, it's not too dissimilar to the start that Hampshire made this morning in the first three or four overs.

  14. Postpublished at 3 overs

    Hants v Lancs 17-0 (target 289)

This is more like it from Gaby Lewis.

The Ireland international leans into a full delivery from Daisy Gibb and directs it crisply to the point boundary, then picks up four more from a full toss as Lancashire take 10 from the over.

  15. 'It's a bit more cloudy now'published at 14:22 BST 21 September

    Hants v Lancs 7-0 (target 289)

    Rita Green
    BBC Radio Solent commentator

We've got a slip in play which I think is the right thing to do. At this stage of the game you want to get a couple of wickets if you can.

It's a bit more cloudy now which is slightly more favourable for the bowling side but not massively. Looks like a decent wicket as well.

  16. Postpublished at 2 overs

    Hants v Lancs 7-0 (target 289)

Freya Davies shares the new ball with Daisy Gibb and Hampshire will be delighted if she can deliver anything like her effort of 4-39 in the semi-final against Surrey.

Davies is Hampshire's leading wicket-taker in the tournament with 18 and that's a tidy start again from her, only giving away three to Gaby Lewis and a leg-bye.

  17. Postpublished at 1 over

    Hants v Lancs 3-0 (target 289)

Alice Clarke gets the scoreboard moving, pulling Daisy Gibb for a single and the young Hampshire seamer is taking time to find her line, producing two leg-side wides in the opening over.

Gaby Lewis is yet to get off the mark.

  18. 'Here we go'published at 14:13 BST 21 September

    Hants v Lancs 0-0 (target 289)

    Rita Green
    BBC Radio Solent commentator

I think the 300 mark psychologically would have been brilliant for Hampshire and Lancashire will probably feel delighted actually that they pegged them back for many stages of the innings if they felt like it was going to be 300 and more, but here we go.

  19. Lancs chase under waypublished at 14:10 BST 21 September

    Hants v Lancs 0-0 (target 289)

Here we go, then as Gaby Lewis and Alice Clarke make their way to the middle to begin Lancashire's pursuit of 289 to win this trophy...

As Hampshire and Lancashire fight it out in the women's final, Worcestershire were celebrating at the end of the men's final on Saturday.

They beat Hampshire by three wickets with just two balls to spare to claim their first piece of silverware for seven years, leaving head coach Alan Richardson to sing his side's praises.

"I'm a little bit gobsmacked," he told BBC Hereford and Worcester. "But I'm just so delighted for the boys.

"They've worked incredibly hard this year in all formats. We want to be as competitive as we can and to get to a final and play in a great game of cricket, I'm just delighted."
