That's it after another eventful four-game day in The Hundred.

There were wins for Southern Brave and Northern Superchargers in the women's competition, while Brave beat Birmingham Phoenix again in the first men's match before Rehan Ahmed led Trent Rockets to victory in this evening's match - you can read about that here.

We'll be back again tomorrow when Manchester Originals take on London Spirit in a double-header at Old Trafford. See you then!

Trent Rockets’ Rehan Ahmed, speaking on Sky Sports about Akeal Hossein is: “Akeal is unbelievable. He’s number one in the world for a reason.

“We’ve got a great balance as a team.”

On how tough the game was: “We took it one ball at a time. When I think too far ahead I don’t do myself any good.

“I think if I was in the powerplay it would have been a tiny bit easier. But with the spin on it was always going to be tough.”

  3. 'This team is a happy and talented bunch'published at 20:53 British Summer Time

Trent Rockets bowler Akeal Hosein, speaking on Sky Sports about dismissing both openers: "I was grateful for that start and was thankful to get the team into a winning position early on."

On bowling plans: "Both sides played differently. It was sticky on one end and the other side was low. I was trying to work out what was best to do.

"This team is a happy bunch and talented too. We have one goal in mind. When we get the ball in hand we want to make a contribution to the team. If it doesn't go your way, you have your brothers to cover you.

"I didn't even have my pads on, I had full confidence in the boys to chase it down. It is great to get over the line."

Spin was the key tonight with Rehan Ahmed and Akeal Hosein both taking two wickets for Trent Rockets.

Then all five wickets fell to spin in the chase, Imad Wasim with three and two for Adil Rashid.

Northern Superchargers just didn't get quite enough on the board.

Third consecutive successful chase for the Rockets in the men's Hundred after having lost five in a row while chasing.

Also, overall, the seventh successful chase out of eight games in the men's Hundred this season.

It was a pretty ugly chase. Trent Rockets set the tone with the ball in the first half. Credit to all the bowlers.

They got home, not the way they wanted. But they got home.

  7. Rockets win by five wicketspublished at 4 balls left
    Breaking

    Rockets 128-5

Marcus Stoinis finishes the job for Trent Rockets.

With the field up, the Australia all-rounder calmly pushes the ball through point.

A comfortable margin of victory in the end and they were always ahead in the chase - but it didn't feel that way for a time with the pitch slowing up.

The Rockets make it two wins from two to start The Hundred this year, inflicting a first defeat on Northern Superchargers.

  8. Rockets 124-5published at 5 balls left

    Need another 1 to win

Scores are level - but only just!

They run a leg bye but Matthew Potts gathered the ball in his follow through and turned to try and hit at the non-striker's end.

Adam Hose would have been long gone had he hit.

A nice shot from Adam Hose. It went up and over. I find it strange that extra cover has not been brought it.

Superchargers have been drilled well by Harry Brook but it was always hard with 125 on the board.

  10. Rockets 123-5published at 6 balls left

    Need another 2 to win

Another full toss and this time it's punished by Adam Hose!

Hit up and over extra cover for four. The Rockets are nearly there.

  11. Rockets 119-5published at 7 balls left

    Need another 6 to win

Full toss, muscled by Adam Hose but straight to the mid-wicket fielder. No run.

  12. Rockets 119-5published at 8 balls left

    Need another 6 to win

Just a single, nudged to leg so Adam Hose is on strike.

The Rockets are one hit away...

Matthew Potts needs some dot balls and a wicket.

It is still in the hands of the Rockets to lose. Cricket is a funny game, but hopefully not that funny.

  14. Rockets 118-5published at 9 balls left

    Need another 7 to win

Two down the ground from Marcus Stoinis.

    The Rockets edge closer.

  15. Rockets 116-5published at 10 balls left

    Need another 9 to win

Dot ball to end the set from Imad Wasim.

That's the spin done, Matthew Potts is coming on and he might have to bowl all 10 unless Superchargers use a bowler for the first time for the last five.

Marcus Stoinis and Adam Hose at the crease for the Rockets.

    Oh dear.

That was unlucky. It hit Tom Alsop's boot and then his pad and then his stumps. I have never seen that happen before.

How on earth has that ended up hitting the stumps?!

Tom Alsop tries to heave a shorter ball leg side, comes off the bottom edge and then spins back, via the pad, to hit off stump.

So unfortunate for Alsop, who batted nicely, but it keeps Superchargers in with a chance.

Rockets need nine from 11 balls.

A nice ball from Adil Rashid. A slider, just into the top of off stump.

There is still plenty of batting in the Trent Rockets line-up however.

  20. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 15 balls left

    Rehan b Rashid 31 (Rockets 115-4)

Quicker one and he's bowled 'im!

Adil Rashid strikes with his last ball, getting it to skid on to beat Rehan Ahmed's attempted cut shot.

The leggie ends with 2-18 from his 20 balls, impressive but it's likely to be in a losing cause... in no small part down to an important, battling knock from Rehan.
