    He informs me that it is "chucking it down".

    The good news is that it doesn't seem quite so bad at Headingley. Albeit the covers remain in place for now.

    Does that set the record for shortest innings before a rain delay? I think the batters only made it about 6ft inside the boundary before being sent back!

    A passing shower? Perhaps. We'll just have to wait and see, I'm afraid.

    Josh Tongue's four wickets came in 17 balls for eight runs at the end of the India innings.

  9. England now well clear of the draw after that flurry of wickets but India remain big favourites according to WinViz.

    Conditions certainly seem to be in the tourists' favour as well but it was England's choice to bowl first so they can't complain about that.

    You look at Ben Stokes, he will be delighted. But now the game starts.

    The India seamers will be used to bowling on these surfaces so they will fancy themselves. Jasprit Bumrah is world-class.

  13. Rain was falling as the England players celebrated that wicket and we did see the covers being pushed onto the outfield.

    But it's the heavy roller rather than the covers on the cut strip at the moment.

    The India bowlers are out already, keen to get going in favourable conditions for the seamers.

    England will be delighted with this last hour of play, but they will have to play really well with the bat.
