Suddenly, it's not looking quite that straightforward for India, who had been flying. Two quick wickets could change everything.

    Big!

Sophie Ecclestone drags the ball a little wider, tempts Smriti Mandhana down the pitch and she gets a thick outside edge straight to Lauren Filer at short third.

    Now, can England capitalise?

I felt like this game was going to be won or lost in the powerplay and Shafali Verma has won this game for India.

10 from the over as Mandhana has the wonderful Jemimah Rodrigues for company.

Expect lots of ones and twos now, as she is rapid. England need to be on it.

The wicket doesn't bother Smriti Mandhana in the slightest.

A curious bowling change sees Alice Capsey introduced and her first ball is swept for four.

Charlie Dean is pumped. I don't blame Shafali Verma for going for it. But that boundary is bigger than we usually have here.

However, you do feel, unless England can get one of Smriti Mandhana, Jemimah Rodrigues or Harmanpreet Kaur, it's going to be India's game.

    Gone this time!

Shafali Verma's aggression is eventually her downfall as she picks out Alice Capsey on the square leg boundary. She barely has to move to take the catch but after a pretty poor record in the field recently, that'll be a big relief.

Verma departs for 31 from 19 - job done (you'd think...)

It's a tough one for Sophie Ecclestone. It was always skewing away from her and I don't think she was realistically ever in the game.

Gutting for Issy Wong, after a brilliant over to close the powerplay with England under pressure.

She draws the false shot from Shafali Verma, the ball flying up towards mid-off but Sophie Ecclestone can't get there. Not quite a drop as she doesn't get a hand to it, but it's a definite chance.

It's so good to see Issy Wong back playing for England. She is lacking in a bit of pace, but it will come as she gets more confident and works on her action a little bit more.

After all the chat about Lauren Filer, it's Issy Wong who delivers the first blow with a short ball.

Smriti Mandhana is struck on the helmet, and goes through the mandatory concussion check. Thankfully, she seems fine.

Another masterclass from Shafali Verma in the Powerplay - her career strike-rate in this phase, 140, is the highest of any woman in the history of the format (minimum 50 innings).

  13. Ind 50-0published at 5 overs

    Feisty from Ecclestone.

Smriti Mandhana defends the last ball of the over and the England spinner throws it back at the keeper. She's closed out the over well after the early boundary.

The strength India have at the minute is all down to the Women's Premier League. They have improved so much over the last two or three years.

The way they go about playing, you just think why they didn't have a domestic competition earlier. They could be world beaters.

  15. Ind 49-0published at 4.2 overs

    Alex called for Sophie Ecclestone.

And Sophie Ecclestone's second ball is pulled for four by Smriti Mandhana.

England are under the pump here. You feel they need to bring on Sophie Ecclestone. They need a wicket soon.

    Somewhere to be, Shafali?

Chipped over mid-on for four more. I hope India's team bus is ready.

Shafali Verma is on fire. She is finding the boundary with ease. She has taken the game on and it's hard to think of an Indian team without her in it.

And the free hit is clubbed for four more.

England were 21-1 at this same stage...
