That was very catchable for Lauren Bell.

Going through her action, and then it was drilled back to her non-dominant side.

A good number of India supporters in the crowd at Lord's and they are cheering every run their side are scoring. But it's not coming easily for the tourists.

Smriti Mandhana almost chips one straight back into the hands of Lauren Bell, but the England bowler cannot react quickly enough!

India really should have been two wickets down here.

Em Arlott has a real knack for making an impact early in her spells, with the wicket of Pratika Rawal she's taken a wicket in her first over in four of her last five international matches.

Well, well, well! We've got some sunshine at Lord's!

Em Arlott continues with the ball and almost earns another maiden over, only to bowl a wide.

That's disappointing! But still, just the one run off the over.

Isn't it time to simplify the boundary four law to stop all the time taken checking if the fielder touched the rope. If the ball has bounced then it is only a four if the ball crosses the line regardless of the fielders position. Keep six law as-is.

    England keep up the pressure.

Only two more runs conceded off that over.

  8. Ind 8-1published at 2.3 overs

Smirti Mandha gets off the mark from the second ball of Lauren Bell's second over.

The England pacer then forces an inside edge off Harleen Deol. It nearly got dragged on to the stumps, but India take a quick single.

The second maiden of this series. There was only one the other day in Southampton.

  10. Ind 6-1published at 2 overs

A wicket maiden from Em Arlott!

Harleen Deol is the new batter in for India and negotiates the final two balls off that over.

At the other end, Smriti Mandhana is yet to face a delivery.

You can see the potential in Em Arlott. She had a mixed T20 series.

Some things did work for her, but she did get attacked a little bit. I feel like she is a longer stage project for Charlotte Edwards.

But that is one to enjoy. Em Arlott got it full and it drifted in. It beat the outside edge of the bat hitting the off stump.

    Em Arlott gets Pratika Rawal!

The England fast bowler begins with three dots before firing a slow yorker that is completely missed by Rawal, who is castled.

Rawal departs and England find an early breakthrough.

Finally we get some cricket to watch. And just in time too as I was struggling to think of ways to put off the household chores during the rain delay.

It's a good start from India opener Pratika Rawal.

She runs two after clipping one towards backward square off the fourth ball before retaining the strike by nicely guiding the final ball of the first over to deep third.

England have definitely done the right thing bowling first.

India will want to be ruthless. It will be massive to get a win and finish the series at Lord's.

  16. Ind 3-0published at 0.2 overs

The first runs of the innings comes from a fumble from England wicket-keeper Amy Jones.

She fails to collect Lauren Bell's wide delivery which swings late but Emma Lamb cuts it off near the boundary rope.

Good fielding from Lamb but India will run two.

At long last, we have the first ball in this second ODI.

Pratika Rawal drives off Lauren Bell's delivery, but it's hit straight at the fielder.

Lauren Bell has the ball in her hand and will open England's attack.

The skies remain grey in London but the rain is staying away for now.

Finally, the umpires are walking out to the middle and we will have some cricket at Lord's.

England players break off from a huddle and make their way to the field, followed by India openers Smirti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal.

You have got to look how India played spin.

Sophie Ecclestone and Charlie Dean really squeezed India in the middle [in Southampton].

I feel bad for my mate [Kate Cross], but that's cricket.

As a bowling unit you have got to keep the ball off the floor in the first hour of play.
