  1. Postpublished at 16:10 British Summer Time 24 May

    Lancs v Warwickshire 73-1

Alex Davies finds the ropes for the first time in an age as opens the face to glance George Balderson's wide delivery past the slips and down to the fence at third.

Might only squeeze more more over in before tea so a late finish in store... weather and light permitting, of course...

  2. 'Somerset may set sights on five wickets'published at 16:10 British Summer Time 24 May

    Durham 5-1 v Somerset 171

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

I would have thought that Somerset would set the their sights on five Durham wickets before close of play today.

They'd like more obviously but five would be a very good start.

  3. Tea at Northamptonpublished at 16:07 British Summer Time 24 May

    Northants v Yorkshire 204-2

Just two singles from the final three overs before tea at Wantage Road which arrives with Yorkshire having added 114 during the afternoon.

Northants will be very glad indeed to have seen off Adam Lyth for 109 but Shan Masood is well set on 46 not out and the home side will be very well aware of his propensity for big scores.

New partner James Wharton has a single to his name. Remember, no Joe Root or Harry Brook in this match.

  4. Tea at Lord'spublished at 16:05 British Summer Time 24 May

    Middx v Sussex 212-4

A fine session for Sussex which brought 120 runs for the loss of just one wicket - James Coles who fell to a terrific catch from wicketkeeper Jack Davies.

Cheteshwar Pujara is still at the crease having moved to a patient unbeaten 60 off 142 balls while John Simpson reaches tea on 22.

Just 38 more runs required for the first batting point.

  5. Postpublished at 16:04 British Summer Time 24 May

    Lancs v Warwickshire 68-1

The visitors are clearly intent on trying to get through to tea with nine wickets in hand.

Five overs to negotiate, three of those likely to come from Nathan Lyon who is probing away like the wily old fox he is.

Alex Davies has 30 from 69 deliveries, Will Rhodes is on 13 from 58 balls.

    No rush, whatsoever.

  6. wicket

WICKET Cooke b Currie 2published at 16:02 British Summer Time 24 May

    Leics v Glam 251-5

    Scott CurrieImage source, Rex Features

Nice little fight back here by the Foxes.

Glamorgan bring up their first batting point but are rocked soon after.

Scott Currie produces a superb ball to beat the defences of Chris Cooke and send his middle stump flying.

Cooek never looked settled. Zain-ul-Hussain is next man in.

  7. wicket

WICKET Lees run out 3published at 16:01 British Summer Time 24 May

    Durham 3-1 v Somerset 171

    Unlucky.

Scott Borthwick drives the ball back down the pitch, Craig Overton gets the slightest of touches on it and Alex Lees is run out at the bowler's end.

It's a welcome boost for Somerset, but cricket can be a cruel game at times.

  8. Pretorius to miss rest of gamepublished at 16:00 British Summer Time 24 May

    Durham 3-0 v Somerset 171

A change for Somerset with Jake Ball coming into their side to replace Migael Pretorius, who was struck on the helmet during his innings of 53 and will play no further part in the game.

It will be Craig Overton to lead their attack, though, and Alex Lees pushes the ball past mid-on and picks up three runs and get the scoreboard moving.

  9. Tea at Southamptonpublished at 15:56 British Summer Time 24 May

    Hants 28-0 v Surrey 127

Dan Lawrence, all arms and legs, takes the final over before tea as Surrey look to spin to make the breakthrough.

A single apiece for Toby Albert and Fletcha Middleton. Lawrence builds a bit of pressure but Albert plays out for dots.

It's been astunning session for Hampshire and Kyle Abbott.

Surrey resumed at 99-4 after lunch, but were skittled for 127 as the South African completed a superb five-wicket haul.

Toby Albert (4) and Fletcha Middleton (18) then survived an awkward hour to reach tea unscathed 99 runs behind.

Can Hants press home their advantage after tea?

  10. wicket

WICKET Lyth c and b Procter 109published at 15:54 British Summer Time 24 May

    Northants v Yorkshire 202-2

Relief for Northamptonshire as Adam Lyth tamely chips a return catch to home skipper Luke Procter.

The Yorkshire opener can't believe it and bends over his bat staring at the ground for several seconds while the home team celebrate his wicket.

Lyth batted for four and a quarter hours, faces 205 balls and hit 11 fours. A fine knock indeed.

  11. Tea at Bristolpublished at 15:54 British Summer Time 24 May

    Gloucestershire v Derbyshire 276-3

Four runs from the final over of the afternoon by Graeme van Buuren and that's been a highly satisfactory session for Derbyshire.

They have added exactly 150 and Matt Lamb and Brooke Gues are still together, their fourth-wicket stand now worth 207.

Lamb has hit 19 fours and is 109 not out and Guest is only six runs away from his first century of the season.

  12. Postpublished at 15:54 British Summer Time 24 May

    Lancs 65-1 v Warwickshire

Alex Davies and Will Rhodes have knuckled down, just a leg bye and a single off the past four overs.

The run rate has dropped anchor, halving to just over two-and-a-half an over.

There were some eyebrows raised then they opted to bat first on a murky day with the opening session having been washed-out, but they have enjoyed the best of it, so far...

  13. Somerset all out for 171published at 15:52 British Summer Time 24 May

    Pretorius 53, Stokes 4-54.

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

England skipper Ben Stokes has followed up his five-for at Blackpool on Sunday with a four-wicket haul today, as Durham made lightish work of the Somerset line-up.

Migael Pretorius was the man who held them up with 53 runs before he was eventually out, caught at second slip off Stokes by Colin Ackermann.

In an innings in which Somerset struggled from the off, he offered the only major resistance, putting on partnerships of 35 for both the seventh and eighth wickets with Tom Banton, who made 36, and Josh Davey, who made 10.

The ball has been seaming around but we also have a bit of sunshine now, so maybe batting will be a bit easier. One thing is for sure though. It was a good toss for Durham to win.

We are now at tea and 43 overs remain in the day.

  14. wicket

WICKET Carlson c Swindells b Kimber 80published at 15:49 British Summer Time 24 May

    Leics v Glam 246-4

Kiran Carlson becomes the second Glamorgan batter to fall in the 80s with a century tantalisingly in sight.

Carlson;'s eyes light up as Louis Kimber serves up a long hop and goes for the pull.

But sub fielder Harry Swindells does brilliantly to run around from midwicket and take a splendid diving catch in front of the rope.

Chris Cooke is in shortly before tea.

  15. Tea at Canterburypublished at 15:48 British Summer Time 24 May

    Kent v Essex 185-2

Arafat Bhuiyan is trying his best to rope-a-dope Tom Westley, nagging away outside off-stump and going up and down in pace, trying to tempt him into chasing one which will see the back of him.

Joey Evison has really impressed this afternoon, even if he only has one wicket to show for it.

It's been Essex's day so far, but if Kent can make inroads in the 32 overs which remain then it will represent an impressive comeback, with lead bowler Wes Agar still off the field with a shoulder injury.

  16. 'That will mean a lot to Matt Lamb'published at 15:48 British Summer Time 24 May

    Glos v Derbyshire 271-3

    Dave Fletcher
    BBC Radio Derby Sport

A big effort from Matt Lamb, this will mean a lot to him.

This is his first century as a Derbyshire player.

    A terrific innings.

  17. 100 runs

100 for Matthew Lambpublished at 15:41 British Summer Time 24 May

    Glos v Derbyshire 262-3

A great moment for Matthew Lamb as he puts away a low full toss from Ed Middleton and punches the air as he reaches three figures off 143 balls.

It's a been a fine innings, featuring 18 fours, and he has put on 193 so far with Brooke Guest.

  18. 100 runs

100 for Adam Lythpublished at 15:41 British Summer Time 24 May

    Northants v Yorkshire 188-1

    Adam LythImage source, Getty Images

Well batted, Adam Lyth, who completes his third century of the season, and 35th in first-class cricket, with a cover drive for four off Luke Procter.

It has taken him 193 balls and he has hit 10 fours in total. What a way to mark your 200th County Championship match.

  19. 200 for Sussexpublished at 15:40 British Summer Time 24 May

    Middx v Sussex 203-4

Sussex are laying the foundations for a good first innings total here at Lord’s.

Henry Brookes almost prises out John Simpson who edges behind, but wicketkeeper Jack Davies cannot hold a tough, low chance.

Cheteshwar Pujara then glances a legside delivery from Ryan Higgins to the boundary as the visitors bring up 200 in the 58th over.

Not a million miles away from the gloves of Davies.

  20. wicket

WICKET Pretorius c Ackermann b Stokes 53published at 15:39 British Summer Time 24 May

    Durham v Somerset 171

Peter Siddle and Ben StokesImage source, Getty Images

    And that's a wrap.

Ben Stokes goes round the wicket to Migael Pretorius who tries to drive a ball angled across him and Colin Ackermann takes the catch moving to his right at second slip.

Somerset are all out in the 53rd over of their innings and England captain Stokes finishes with figures of 4-54.

What can Durham do with the bat?
