Summary

  1. Ind 161-4published at 35 overs

Fair to say the crowd at the Dubai International Stadium are not exactly enthralled by what they are witnessing. There's a ripple of cheering when Shubman Gill whips Taskin Ahmed's fourth ball through mid-wicket, but it is cut off.

  2. Ind 158-4published at 34 overs

Rohit Sharma is sat on the sidelines chewing on something as he watches on. This is not exactly vintage cricket but he'll be happy if his side get the job done.

KL Rahul and Shubman Gill farm the strike well off Mehidy Hasan Miraz collecting two singles apiece.

  3. Ind 154-4published at 33 overs

Taskin Ahmed returns to the attack.

There's a glimmer of a run-out chance when KL Rahul digs out a full delivery for a single, but the India batter does well to make his ground.

Meanwhile, here's how Shreyas Iyer lost his wicket a little while ago.

  4. Ind 150-4published at 32 overs

Shubman Gill with the shot of a man in confidence.

A fifth-stump line from Tanzim Hasan Sakib but calmly Gill opens the face and guides it fine - very fine - for four.

  5. Ind 145-4published at 31 overs

The hirsute KL Rahul is the new batter and he dabs out four dots from Rishad Hossain, before punching one down the ground for a single to keep the strike.

India need 84 runs from 114 balls.

Bangladesh are putting the pressure on but India are still very much on top. It hasn't been as fluid as we would have thought India would go about it, it has been slow going.

Bangladesh need to keep going like this and taking regular wickets.

  7. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 30.1 overs

    Patel c & b Rishad 8 (Ind 144-4)

Axar Patel gives his wicket away.

A touch of overconfidence, possibly, as he tries whack Rishad Hossain into the legside but sends it skywards.

Rishad has to wait an age as the ball comes down with snow on, but holds his nerve and the catch.

  8. Ind 144-3published at 30 overs

Axar Patel gets a short one angled into him from Tanzim Hasan Sakib's penultimate ball of the over, but's the India batter tall man and is able to whip it across the line to fence for four. Easy as you like.

Bangladesh have brought both pacers back on which is a good move. But even if India lost three wickets now you would still fancy them to win.

Again it comes down to whether Bangladesh have got their bowling combination right. I don't think they have.

  10. Ind 138-3published at 29 overs

Shubman Gill and Axar Patel accumulate four dots off Rishad Hossain, who has an impressive 1-20 from seven overs.

Gill looks well set at the moment. He'll be the key man for India from this point.

  11. In 134-4published at 28 balls

Axar Patel is the new batter. If Bangladesh can winkle another here there might be a few nerves in the India dressing room.

Mustafizur finally gets his wicket. It is exactly what he needed as he has been expensive today.

Bangladesh are taking regular wickets but it may be too little too late.

  13. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 27.4 overs

    Iyer c Najmul b Rahman 15 (Ind 133-3)

Shreyas Iyer picks up four after he unfurls an aesthetically-pleasing square drive off Mustafizur Rahman but falls in a rather cheap manner next ball.

Iyer attempts to hit Mustafizur back over his head but completely mistimes it and it does not come off the meat of the bat and instead ball balloons up over mid-off.

Najmul Hossain Shanto manages to turn on his heels and take a smart catch over his shoulder.

Boundaries are drying up in recent times for India. It does looks as though the pitch is slowing down ever so slightly.

  15. Ind 126-2published at 27 overs

A period of attritional cricket as the disc jockey at the Dubai International Stadium attempts to lift the spirits of the crowd by playing 'La Bamba'.

Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer pick up a single apiece off Rishad Hossain.

Nothing too showy from Gill, he is just getting the job done nicely. He has been very watchable in his half-century.

Bangladesh might be regretting not bringing in that third spinner to the team to constrict the run-rate and find a few wickets.

  17. Ind 124-2published at 26 overs

Shubman Gill, who is a man in form with scores of 87, 60 and 112 in his last three ODI innings for India, picks up a single of Mustafizur Rahman's sixth over with a leg glance.

Shreyas Iyer rather more stylishly square drives but has to settle for a single after it is cut off.

    Thanks, Mike.

The body language of the Bangladesh players very much suggests they think India will chase this down.

A couple of wickets, though, and they will give themselves a sniff.

50 for Shubman Gillpublished at 25 overs

    Ind 122-2

There's the half-century for Shubman Gill!

It's not been a quick one, coming off 69 balls, but he hasn't needed to take any risks given the low target.

To see how India kick on, here's Timothy Abraham.

Shreyas would have been a long way out of his crease if that was a direct hit. There was a little fumble from Fiz so possibly the ball is getting wetter from the dew.

    A chance for Bangladesh gone.
