Summary

  1. Ban 13-2published at 4 overs

Bangladesh continue to look a little nervy, as Tanzid bottom edges Harshit's delivery onto his pad and past the stumps, then runs halfway up the pitch from the non-striker's end and is sent back by his batting partner.

Shreyas Iyer throws down from backward square leg, a direct hit would have had Tanzid walking back to the pavilion.

There's been a real difference in quality from Tanzid compared to the other Bangladesh batters so far.

India's batting line-up however is formidable so you need to be looking for more than 300 runs if you are going to test their line-up later today.

  3. Ban 11-2published at 3 overs

    That's more like it.

Tanzid Hasan picks up consecutive boundaries for Bangladesh, lifting Mohammad Shami's delivery over the cover ring then timing the next ball through a gap in the same area.

A terrible start for Bangladesh! That ball was there to be driven, it angled across the left-handed Najmul Hossain Shanto nicely but ended up looping to Virat Kohli for the simplest of catches.

The skipper has not been able to make the impression he would have wanted and he's left his team in trouble now.

Smeared straight to cover - it's two wickets in two overs!

New batter Najmul Hossain Shanto is out for a two-ball duck, chasing Harshit Rana's wide-ish delivery and hitting on the up right at Virat Kohli, who takes the catch above his head.

The start gets better and better for India...

It was a bit of a loose shot, Soumya Sarkar was looking to drive. His bottom hand came through and he wasn't in control at all.

The wicketkeeper knew straight away and Sarkar didn't even bother appealing.

  9. wicket

    Soumya c Rahul b Shami 0 (Ban 1-1)

India strike in the first over!

Mohammad Shami sends down four dot balls to Soumya Sarkar and the pressure tells with his final delivery.

The Bangladesh opener attempts to drive and gets done by a touch of movement, feathering an inside edge to wicketkeeper KL Rahul, who takes the catch moving slightly to his right.

A fantastic start for Rohit Sharma's side.

It's a dry surface out there, there's not much grass at all. It will take spin later on and India have picked a team accordingly, so they will try to attack early.

India will be full of confidence, that's for sure.

  11. Ban 1-0published at 0.1 overs

Tanzid Hasan gets Bangladesh off the mark straight away, an inside edge off Shami's first delivery running into the leg side for a single.

Right, almost time to get going in Dubai.

The stadium is looking fairly sparsely populated, but will hopefully fill up as the match goes on.

Mohammad Shami is going to take the new ball for India.
