  1. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:31 British Summer Time

    du Plooy b Kellaway 89 (Middx 387-5 v Glamorgan 199)

Lovely ball draws Leus du Plooy forward and does him off the pitch and brings to an end a 131-run partnership for the Middlesex pair.

Ben Kellaway will be putting that one on his highlights reel as it really was a beauty, pitching on middle and clipping the top of off.

Du Plooy even threw in a puzzled 'how did that happen' glare back at his stumps before walking.

  2. Latest from Canterburypublished at 11:30 British Summer Time

    Kent 334-8 v Glos 472

Kent have lost their first wicket of the morning at Canterbury, with Jas Singh caught behind after trying to drive a ball from Matt Taylor.

An ambitious stroke - especially if you don't move your front foot to the pitch - and Kashif Ali is now out there with Ben Compton, who is on 155.

  3. 'It makes a nice change for Notts to do well here'published at 11:29 British Summer Time

    Warwicks 93 v Notts 217-5

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

It's not a dig at Warwickshire at all but it makes a nice change for Nottinghamshire to do well here.

They've got a wretched record at this ground in the Championship. In 150 years they've only won 10 times at Edgbaston and only twice this century in the County Championship.

I'm not saying Notts are going to go on and win this game, but the two things that link the two wins are that in 2005 and 2010 they went on to win the title.

    Warwicks 93 v Notts 217-5

Haseeb Hameed flicks one of his pads for a couple and goes to 79.

He's added four runs to his overnight tally, dealing with the Warwickshire seam attack's advances comfortably so far.

  5. wicket

    Thain c Roderick b Brookes 54 (Essex 179 & 246-7 v Worcs 202)

    Ethan BrookesImage source, Rex Features

Noah Thain isn't convinced he nicked that, but the umpire's raised finger brings his praiseworthy innings to an end.

It's a second wicket of the innings for Ethan Brookes and Worcestershire will be delighted with that.

They won't want to have to chase too many in the fourth innings.

  6. Under way at Hovepublished at 11:24 British Summer Time

    Sussex 435 v Surrey 95-1

Ollie Robinson sends the first over down in this slightly delayed match at a cost of five runs and Jayden Seales follows up from the other end with a very tidy maiden as this gets under way.

A watchful beginning from Ollie Pope and Dom Sibley who have extended their overnight partnership to 61 with Surrey trailing by 340 runs.

  7. Postpublished at 11:22 British Summer Time

    Somerset 184 v Hants 217-3

A lovely little clip off his pads from Hampshire's Liam Dawson goes for four more.

You felt Somerset needed to get an early breakthrough this morning but there's been no sign of that happening in the first 20 minutes of day three here so far.

  8. 100 runs

for Luke Procterpublished at 11:22 British Summer Time

    Derbys 307 v Northants 248-3

Derbyshire have made him work for it this morning, but Luke Procter has his first Championship century since May 2024.

He tucks Luis Reece round the corner for a single and goes to three figures from 202 balls faced - and also brings up a 50 partnership with Rob Keogh.

It is Procter's ninth first-class ton and he will be looking to build on this and help his team establish a decent first-innings lead.

  9. Postpublished at 11:18 British Summer Time

    Essex 179 & 240-6 v Worcs 202

Good over from Ben Allison brings him a maiden.

The pace bowler goes past the outside edge of Simon Harmer's bat but Worcestershire are still waiting for their first breakthrough of the morning.

Essex lead by 217 - five overs to go to the new ball.

  10. 'Early wickets needed for Somerset'published at 11:16 British Summer Time

    Hants 205-3 v Somerset 184

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

    Somerset need early wickets.

I think they'll do well to get out of this with a draw and it maybe that the weather tomorrow will be their ally in that as there are heavy showers forecast.

  11. Postpublished at 11:13 British Summer Time

    Somerset 184 v Hants 204-3

200's up for the hosts at The Utilita Bowl following a fabulous cut-shot from Liam Dawson.

Nick Gubbins backs that up in the next over, flicking one off his pads for four.

Hampshire have started day three well.

  12. 150 runs

150 for Leespublished at 11:12 British Summer Time

    Durham 269-1 v Yorks 307

It is already a great innings from Alex Lees but reaching 150 has just put a layer of gloss on it.

A single off Dom Bess and the Durham opener (formerly of Yorks of course) ambles through before taking an understated fist bump from Emilio Gay.

Lees will have his high water mark at Durham, the 195 he scored against Glos in 2023 in his sights.

  13. 150 runs

for Ben Comptonpublished at 11:09 British Summer Time

    Kent 327-7 v Glos 472

Having flashed Marchant de Lange through the covers for four, Ben Compton pulls the South African for his second boundary of the day and reaches 150 from 253 balls faced.

He may not find favour among the Bazball fraternity, but Compton's value as Kent's 'rock' is inestimable.

Cricket's equivalent of the AA, Green Flag or RAC (and probably other breakdown companies too) comes to the rescue of a broken down roller at Old Trafford.

  15. Postpublished at 11:05 British Summer Time

    Warwicks 93 v Notts 208-5

First runs of the day and Lyndon James spanks a square cut shot to the boundary for four.

The following delivery is a beauty from Ethan Bamber, cutting James in half, and Warwicks appeal for a catch behind the wicket but the umpire immediately shakes his head.

  16. Under way at Chester-le Streetpublished at 11:05 British Summer Time

    Durham 265-1 v Yorks 307

Jordan Thompson has fired down the first over on day three and it has cost Yorkshire a single. Centurions Alex Lees (148*) and Emilio Gay (106*) resume their partnership with Durham now trailing by 42 runs.

  17. 'This match could still go either way'published at 11:04 British Summer Time

    Essex 179 & 237-6 v Worcs 202

    Nick Gledhill
    BBC Essex

The match has been well contested and could still go either way.

I think the general consensus is that whereas Worcestershire had the better of day one, Essex have just moved into the slightly stronger position at the end of day two thanks to that tremendous century from Paul Walter and Noah Thain with a very, very usual hand.

The weather belongs more to spring than summer, it's perfectly pleasant. It's partly cloudy bit it's high cloud. There's plenty of blue sky with the sun just going in and out.

for Noah Thainpublished at 11:00 British Summer Time

    Essex 179 & 234-6 v Worcs 202

    Noah ThainImage source, Rex Features

Ben Allison will bowl the day's first over against his former club.

Two balls is all Noah Thain needs to collect a single to long leg and reach a maiden first-class 50 off 134 balls.

The 20-year-old has four in 50-over cricket but this is his first against a red ball.
