Summary

  1. Pak 86-2published at 22 overs

A cute shot from Saud Shakeel to close out the 22nd over.

He's full stretch down the wicket as he goes for the reverse sweep. He's only rewarded with a single but it looked good.

It's been so good from India, everything has been dots or ones.

  4. Pak 82-2published at 21 overs

Harshit Rana is mixing up his deliveries nicely here, throwing in a slower ball and a short one to test Mohammad Rizwan.

    Three more from it.

The crowd haven't had a lot to cheer about, from either side.

Another very economical over for India. They are very much in control of this game.

  7. Pak 77-2published at 20 overs

An average first-innings score of 218 in Dubai... So, Alex Hartley isn't wrong (10.39) - 270 would be a really good score for Pakistan.

It seems quite far away though as they take just two runs off the 20th over.

  8. How's stat?!published at 10:39 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February

The average first-innings score at the Dubai International Stadium is 218, with the average winning score at the ground 258.

Pakistan's highest total at the ground was the 307-7 they made against Australia in March 2019 in a match they lost to Australia by 20 runs.

There are so many gaps to rotate the strike. Pakistan need to start hitting it about but can't get too reckless.

I think 270 will be a really good score.

  10. Pak 77-2published at 19 overs

A few overs ago, Pakistan's run rate was hovering just under five. It's now dipped dangerously close to four.

  11. How's stat?!published at 10:36 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February

This is this third meeting between India and Pakistan at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Both their previous meetings came in the 2018 Asia Cup and resulted in comprehensive victories for India by eight wickets and nine wickets.

Aamer: Bored of the 'Pakistan can beat anyone on their day' narrative. Those are few and far between. This is a very average side if you look at most performances.

  13. Pak 74-2published at 18 overs

A brisk over from Axar Patel, who rattles through his six deliveries and concedes just two runs. That'll help the over rate.

Harshit Rana is back into the attack for India.

There was a lot of talk about Pakistan's ability to rotate the strike after the first game. They've done it well today.

  16. Pak 72-2published at 17 overs

Hardik Pandya looks like he's really enjoying himself out there today. He's conceded just 18 runs from his six overs.

Chatting away to fielders, smiling in between deliveries, nonchalantly walking back to his mark... then again, if my run up was long as his, I'd be taking my time too.

Having Axar Patel in the team really balances it out well. He makes his bowling work in a white-ball format.

  18. Pak 70-2published at 16 overs

A much more positive over from Pakistan. Seven runs from it and their first boundary since the 10th over.

  19. Pak 67-2published at 15.1 overs

The lesser-spotted boundary! Saud Shakeel paddles Axar Patel over KL Rahul's head for four and the ball sedately rolls to the rope.

It's been a strange old innings. Pakistan were rotating the strike well. India have fielded well but it's a very slow outfield here.
