This has been the difference today. Yes, New Zealand were bowling tighter than India have been today but Babar Azam couldn't keep the runs ticking over. Today when the ball's had his name on it, he's sent it.

  3. Pak 22-0published at 4 overs

Babar Azam looks up for this today. Two loose balls from Harshit Rana in the over and sends both of them to the boundary.

    Eight off the over.

Lovely shot from Babar Azam. Slightly off stump, he just shuffles the ball all the way.

This is what I was talking about, finding the gaps and executing well.

  5. Pak 18-0published at 3.3 overs

    Wahoo! Boundary for Pakistan!

It's slightly overpitched from Harshit Rana and Babar Azam dispatches him for four between mid-wicket and mid-on.

The dot ball percentage has been quite high again for Pakistan. Just being able to find the gaps is really important.

  7. Pak 14-0published at 3 overs

My word, this outfield looks slow.

Imam-ul-Haq picks a gap in India's field between cover and point but is only rewarded with two as the ball practically comes to a halt in the deep.

Pakistan are still searching for their first boundary.

The establishment of the IPL put the talent of the India cricket team on a different planet. Even by the lightest of chances if Pakistan make a decent score, India’s batting line-up will be too strong for them. Unlike India, Pakistan will play the occasion not the game - Pakistan all out for under 200 and lose heavily today.

It's a strange one for Pakistan, they have to put all the criticism at the back of their minds. All the pitches in this Champions Trophy are so different.

  10. Pak 10-0published at 2 overs

Good running from Babar Azam to get off the mark with two. Pakistan will be hoping to see more of that after his slow innings against New Zealand.

It's the end of a very long over, a few very easy runs here for Pakistan.

It shows that India are not a machine of execution yet.

  12. Pak 6-0published at 1 over

Well, that didn't go quite as expected, did it?

Five wides from Mohammed Shami in a nervy 11-ball opening over to gift Pakistan some early runs.

Rohit Sharma will be hoping for a tidier start from Harshit Rana.

  13. Pak 6-0published at 0.5 overs

Five wides and counting from Mohammed Shami...

Mohammed Shami really hasn't got his radar right. It's really difficult as a batter to get used to the surface when the deliveries are all over the place.

  15. Pak 3-0published at 0.3 overs

Mohammed Shami was excellent against Bangladesh but this has been a nervy start from the bowler, gifting Pakistan a trio of wides as he struggles to find his line early on.

The big superman dive from KL Rahul behind the stumps is always a joy to watch, however.

Mohammed Shami has had a good tournament so far, he's in tiptop shape.

Pakistan's batters are out in the middle.

Mohammed Shami is revving up to open the bowling for India.

We need to see more intent from Pakistan. The pitch will be a bit slower but you can't have 22 runs from the powerplay. If they bat like they did the other day, India are going to walk this game.

India will be heavy favourites but it's a game of cricket, anything can happen. The surface here is a tired-looking pitch. It's not the kind of pitch where you'd expect them to score 300.
