By Da Silva's reaction it wasn't so much an inside edge as a hope against hope that he wasn't struck in front.

  2. West Indies reviewpublished at 31.1 overs

    WI 113-7

Gus Atkinson raps Josh Da Silva on the back leg and up goes the umpire's finger.

After a lengthy discussion, the batter goes for the review. In hope more than expectation, I'd suggest.

  3. WI 113-6published at 31 overs

Just a single from the next five balls of the Shoaib Bashir over.

Ben Stokes jogs off at the end of it. Off to put on his bowling boots?

  4. 6 runs

    WI 112-6published at 30.1 overs

Josh Da Silva is going to take on Shoaib Bashir.

The right-hander picks up a full delivery from the England spinner and launches it high over long-on for six.

England won't mind seeing that sort of shot.

    Andy Zaltzman
    Statistician on Test Match Special

Ben Stokes has bowled four spells in this series - two have been 10 overs long, one eight overs and then one here just two overs before stumps one day.

It has been strange. But then when he does come on, you can't get the ball out of his hand.

I suppose Shoaib Bashir has acted as that fourth bowler.

Is Ben Stokes injured? He seems like a reluctant captain to bring himself on.

  8. WI 106-6published at 30 overs

A second boundary of the over and this time it's from the bat of Jason Holder.

The big all-rounder gets forward and drives handsomely through mid-off.

An expensive first over back for Gus Atkinson.

That is a fine shot. That was the Da Silva of the first innings.

  10. WI 102-6published at 29.1 overs

    Target 385

Gus Atkinson returns and Josh Da Silva pulls his first ball away for four.

That flew to the fence in front of square. Excellent timing from the West Indies wicketkeeper.

  11. WI 97-6published at 29 overs

Shoaib Bashir gets through another very tidy over but no real scares for West Indies as Jason Holder and Josh Da Silva continue play patiently.

They've done a good job of slowing England's momentum. At least for now.

Josh Da Silva has impressed me. He's looked like someone who could be a bit of a leader.

  13. WI 96-6published at 28 overs

Mark Wood completes the fifth - and final? - over of his spell.

Just three from it, a single to get Josh Da Silva off the mark from his 14th ball and two for Jason Holder, punched through the off side.

  14. WI 93-6published at 27 overs

    Maiden over from Shoaib Bashir.

The young spinner hits Jason Holder on the front pad with the all-rounder not playing a shot.

There's a brief strangled appeal but England take it no further. Good call but ball-tracking shows it was closer than they though - umpire's call, just clipping the top of off.

Oh, that did turn. He's unlucky that that has gone over the top of the stumps because the bounce is quite low on this pitch.

    This is good from Bashir.

  16. WI 93-6published at 26.2 overs

    Beauty! How did that miss?

Shoaib Bashir rips one from wide of off stump, through the gate as Jason Holder aims a big drive through the covers... but the ball bounces over the top.

    Nearly the perfect off-spinner's wicket.

It is always the drinks break that does it... maybe they slipped in something special.

  18. WI 93-6published at 26 overs

Mark Wood has bowled brilliantly in this Test. I'm not sure how he hasn't taken more than two wickets so far.

He sends down a 91mph delivery that stays low but just misses Josh Da Silva's off peg.

The next ball bounces a bit more and this time whistles past the edge.

  19. WI 92-6published at 25 overs

No dramas in this over for the West Indies with just a single from it.

Shoaib Bashir is bowling very nicely, though, and will fancy getting himself another wicket or two before this game is done.

    Thanks, Mike.

Well, this escalated quickly. It's not long ago it looked like West Indies were going to put themselves into a position to have real crack at this chase on day five.

Now, they'll do well get to a fifth day. Given how things have gone while I've been on, they might have a chance.

But I was around for Joe Root's century earlier so maybe my luck is changing?
