  1. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:00 British Summer Time 11 May

    Tattersall c and b Thain 31 (Essex 123 v Yorks 216 & 297-3)

Noah Thain had to wait an absolute age for that to come back down after Jonny Tattersall top edged an attempted pull, but the bowler makes no mistake with the catch and Yorkshire lose their third wicket.

They lead by 390, though, and the sight of Jonny Bairstow coming out to join Adam Lyth, who has 177, is hardly a welcome one for Essex.

Bean and Tattersall put on 72 for the third wicket.

  2. Postpublished at 85.2 overs

    Warks 665-5 dec v Surrey 241-5

It's worth pointing out that Warwickshire still need to take another 15 wickets to win this game on what is a blamless pitch.

But the loss of three wickets since lunch - all senior players - must have rocked Surrey a little bit.

Cameron Steel flicks Rob Yates for four but they are still 424 in arrears.

  3. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:55 British Summer Time 11 May

    Karvelas b Singh 1 (Sussex 284 & 239-9 v Worcs 180)

Big swing and a miss and Ari Karvelas loses his off stump.

  4. 'Wonderful innings from Patterson-White'published at 14:52 British Summer Time 11 May

    Notts 333 & 345 v Hants 196

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

    It's a wonderful innings from Liam Patterson-White - with a career best 135 runs.

There was no pressure for Notts, 500 was the target in whatever time they wanted. I don't think there was any rush to get to 500 but the afternoon meandered a bit.

  5. Postpublished at 14:50 British Summer Time 11 May

    Essex 123 v Yorks 216 & 288-2

Noah Thain charges in and Jonny Tattersall simply lobs the ball back over the bowler's head and it runs away for four runs. The Yorkshire lead climbs above 380.

  6. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:49 British Summer Time 11 May

    Robinson run out 30 (Sussex 284 & 235-8 v Worcs 180)

Jack Carson cuts the ball behind point and shouts for two when he gets to the turn at the non-striker's end.

Slight hesitation on his return for that second stops Ollie Robinson in his tracks and the two batters end up chasing to the same end.

A laser throw comes in from Kashif Ali and beats them to it with Robinson out of his ground but marginally closer to the stumps than his teammate at the time.

  7. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 22.4 overs

    Leaning c Cooke b Fernando 0 (Kent 212 & 56-4 v Glamorgan 549-9 dec)

Jack Leaning can't believe he's just done that.

An airy waft outside off stump, an edge to the keeper and Asitha Fernando has his third wicket of the innings.

What a time for 18-year-old Ekansh Singh to come to the middle.

A serious question. Is there anything better to be doing with your time on a Sunday like this? We don't think so.

Liam Patterson-White is bowled by Sonny Baker

Sonny Baker has done Liam Patterson-White for a yard of pace but that was a slightly tired looking shot from the Notts man, who loses his off stump.

Great innings and his partnership with Jack Haynes which saw both of them reach three figures proved significant.

The lead is 482 which would appear to leave two outcomes in this game with a Notts win heavy favourite of the pair.

  10. Postpublished at 90.4 overs

    Essex 123 v Yorks 216 & 276-2

Too easy for Adam Lyth, who glances Noah Thain fine for four as he and Jonny Tattersall post a 50 partnership from 106 balls.

Lyth is 168 and Tattersall has 19 - the Yorkshire lead is 369.

  11. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 77.5 overs

    Roy c Malik b Yates 2 (Warks 665-5 dec v Surrey 217-5)

Perhaps an unwise shot when you've only been at the crease for a few minutes and you're playing your first Championship innings for six and a half years.

Jason Roy attempts to slog-sweep Rob Yates, doesn't keep it on the deck and hits it straight to Zen Malik at mid-wicket.

His comeback knock lasts nine balls.

  12. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 21 overs

    Finch c Cooke b Fernando 28 (Kent 212 & 52-3 v Glamorgan 549-9 dec)

Are Glamorgan going to be heading home a day early? It's looking that way at the moment.

A little nip off the seam there for Asitha Fernando and Harry Finch edges to Chris Cooke - a simple one for the keeper.

Tawanda Muyeye comes out to bat with Kent needing another 285 to avoid an innings defeat after following on.

  13. Postpublished at 14:32 British Summer Time 11 May

    Warks 665-5 dec v Surrey 217-4

Sir Garfield Sobers, unquestionably one of THE all-time greats, was about four kinds of bowler in one.

Beau Webster is now showing his versatility by switching to some floaty off-spin instead of his usual seam-up bowling.

It's a tidy enough over but doesn't dislodge Jason Roy.

  14. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:31 British Summer Time 11 May

    Ahmed b Fuller 10 (Notts 333 & 345-9 v Hants 196

Yorker... and James Fuller pings his stumps.

Farhan Ahmed reacts just to late to a toe cruncher, trying to jab his bat down but it is after the ball has got through.

The lead of 482 and Mo Abbas is out now to see what damage he can do.

Chances are it will be more with the ball when Hants are back in than the bat now.

  15. 'Lawrence disappointed'published at 14:30 British Summer Time 11 May

    Warks 665-5 dec v Surrey 216-4

    Clive Eakin
    BBC CWR Sport

Dan Lawrence can't quite believe he's done that. Yates has a second wicket and it's nicely taken by Davies.

Lawrence will really feel as though he's missed out there and he has to slowly make his way back towards the pavilion.

You can see how disappointed he is and you can understand it.

  16. Postpublished at 14:28 British Summer Time 11 May

    Sussex 284 & 215-7 (lead by 318) v Worcs 180

There in a nutshell is why Ollie Robinson can be such a frustrating batter.

First, a sweetly timed drive to long off which beats long on's quick chase around the rope. And second, a reverse sweep which pings off the middle of the bat for another boundary.

It is followed in the next over from Ben Gibbon with an airy swipe which just falls short mid on and a near run out.

This is fine when Sussex are adding to a lead which is already north of 300 but you feel it would not be a significantly different story if they were trailing.

  17. 'All three results still a possibility'published at 14:28 British Summer Time 11 May

    Sussex 284 & 209-7 v Worcs 180

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex

The important statistic is the lead - which is 313.

I know Worcestershire have had their difficulties with batting, but if you were chasing 310 you're not walking out thinking you have no chance.

If someone gets in and does a Jack Carson then Worcestershire might be able to chase this down. All three results are still a possibility here I think.

  18. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 75.1 overs

    Lawrence c Davies b Yates 45 (Warks 665-5 dec v Surrey 211-4)

Dan Lawrence tries to a cut a ball that is too close to him and keeper Alex Davies accepts the thinnest of edges.

Here comes Jason Roy for Surrey.

His last red-ball game for them was in the Bob Willis Trophy in 2020 and he last played Championship cricket in September 2018, when he made five and 128 against Essex.

Roy has been preferred to Australian signing Kurtis Patterson for this game. He is immediately under way with a single.

  19. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:24 British Summer Time 11 May

    DBD c Carlson b Gorvin 5 (Kent 212 & 48-2 v Glamorgan 549-9 dec)

Andy Gorvin celebratesImage source, Rex Features

Daniel Bell-Drummond took an absolute blinder of a catch earlier in this game - and now he's been dismissed by one.

Andy Gorvin finds the edge and Kiran Carlson dives at third slip to take it in his left hand just above the turf.

They say catches win matches - and that one has certainly increased the chance of Glamorgan winning this one.

  20. Postpublished at 73.3 overs

    Warks 665-5 dec v Surrey 207-3

As Clive Eakin and Mel Farrell discuss the merits of different makes of sandal (none of them would be great if hit by a rapid yorker), Rob Yates starts another over for Warwickshire.

Ben Foakes and Dan Lawrence swap singles with the latter now 43 not out.
