  1. 250 up for Yorkshirepublished at 14:13 British Summer Time 11 May

    Essex 123 v Yorks 216 & 250-2

Jamie Porter charges in and Adam Lyth nudges the ball to mid-wicket and they take a single. That is 250 up for the Tykes, who are now 343 to the good in this match.

  2. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:13 British Summer Time 11 May

    Simpson c Roderick b Allison 9 (Sussex 284 & 188-7 v Worcs 180)

John Simpson looks to hook a short ball legside delivery from Ben Allison and gets some glove on it.

That didn't have much going for it aside from tucking the Sussex skipper up a touch and should have been a boundary not a wicket.

But there you go.. and this match is moving on at pace with Sussex leading by 300.

  3. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:07 British Summer Time 11 May

    Bell c Zaib b Guthrie 11 (Northants 238 & 273 v Lancs 276 & 33-2)

Another one goes, George Bell following his fellow opener's lead in bunting a catch to short midwicket.

There is a little bit of work to do by Saif Zaib who has to dive to his left but it is at a nice height and he gets two hands on it.

Lancs still need 203 and could do with first innings centurion Marcus Harris coming up with another here.

  4. Surrey reach 200published at 69.4 overs

    Warks 665-5 dec v Surrey 200-3

Surrey have sent in Ben Foakes ahead of Jason Roy.

The wicketkeeper may be undervalued by England as far as batting is concerned, but not by the reigning champions.

A perfectly played on-drive for four off Rob Yates takes the total to 200.

  5. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:03 British Summer Time 11 May

    Hutton c Brown b Abbott 0 (Notts 333 & 330-8 v Hants 196)

Smart catch behind the stumps from Ben Brown after Brett Hutton edges an outswinging delivery from Kyle Abbott.

The lead is 467 and Notts will probably just have a bit of a swing now.

  6. wicket

    Compton lbw Fernando 17 (Kent 212 & 39-1 v Glamorgan 549-9 dec)

Asitha Fernando dismisses Ben ComptonImage source, Rex Features

    The breakthrough for Glamorgan.

Asitha Fernando angles the ball in from round the wicket, Ben Compton plays slightly across the line and is leg-before.

That is a big wicket - Kent's most obdurate bat is gone.

  7. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:01 British Summer Time 11 May

    Jennings c Sales b Guthrie 17 (Northants 238 & 273 v Lancs 276 & 30-1)

Disappointing end for Keaton Jennings who pulls a delivery from back of a length straight to midwicket.

It was a bright start for Lancs who have knocked off 30 of the 236 required fairly quickly but they will have been hoping Jennings contributed a little more to the chase than that.

  8. Postpublished at 13:58 British Summer Time 11 May

    Essex 123 v Yorks 212 & 244-2

Sedate start by Yorkshire after lunch at Chelmsford.

They have added four runs from four overs since lunch - Adam Lyth is now 155 not out, exactly 150 more than partner Jonny Tattersall, and the lead is 337.

  9. 'A beautiful delivery'published at 13:55 British Summer Time 11 May

    Sussex 284 & 177-6 v Worcs 180

    Liam O'Brien
Cricketer for England PD Team on BBC Sussex

    It's a beautiful delivery.

Hudson-Prentice just goes to poke it at, it hits the seam and takes the outside edge. That's a pretty perfect wicket if you're a bowler and asking how you want to get a wicket - that's unbelievable.

In fairness, there was nothing Hudson-Prentice could do there.

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:54 British Summer Time 11 May

    Haynes run out 120 (Notts 333 & 322-7 v Hants 196)

Just a slight hesitation as to whether to go for a second and it proves crucial.

Jack Haynes clips a delivery from Kyle Abbott down to deep square leg where Sonny Baker gathers and fires in a flat bullet over the top of the stumps at the striker's end.

A really good throw and smart work from Ben Brown but a slight pause as the pair made their minds up to go for two has done for Haynes.

  11. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:54 British Summer Time 11 May

    Sibley c Barnard b Yates 64 (Warks 665-5 dec v Surrey 188-3)

A bit of a gift for Warwickshire, although it was a great catch by Ed Barnard, diving to his right at backward point.

Poor shot by Dom Sibley, who fails to get on top of a ball from Rob Yates floated up outside off stump.

He won't want to see that one again.

  12. Postpublished at 67 overs

    Warks 665-5 dec v Surrey 188-2

Che Simmons starts a new over and Dan Lawrence dabs his first ball between first and second slip for four.

It was a deliberate shot, and Rob Yates can't intercept despite a desperate dive to his left.

A couple of no-balls in that one too. Not a day to waste effort.

  13. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:50 British Summer Time 11 May

    Hudson-Prentice c Roderick b Allison 10 (Sussex 284 & 177-6 v Worcs 180)

Perfect delivery which catches Fynn Hudson-Prentice between defence and attack and gets an edge which Gareth Roderick takes behind the stumps.

  14. Postpublished at 13:48 British Summer Time 11 May

    Kent 212 & 31-0 v Glamorgan 549-9 dec

Three successive boundaries for Harry Finch off Zain ul-Hassan at the start of the afternoon session - a leg glance, a straight drive and an on-drive.

The bowler managed to get his fingertips to the second one but couldn't prevent it running away to the rope.

Finch is 17 not out and Ben Compton has 14.

  15. Postpublished at 65 overs

    Warks 665-5 dec v Surrey 177-2

A chastening over for Che Simmons - or should that be a Che-stening over? - which underlines there is very little margin for error on this pitch.

Dan Lawrence flicks a wayward delivery for four and then pulls the next one to the mid-wicket boundary - 10 from it.

  16. Postpublished at 13:43 British Summer Time 11 May

    Warks 665-5 dec v Surrey 168-2

The teams are back out in the middle at Edgbaston.

More hard work is in store for the Warwickshire bowlers.

Dom Sibley is on strike to Che Simmons on 62 not out and Dan Lawrence has 19.

The first ball hits him on the thigh pad via the inside edge and they jog a single.

  17. Glamorgan expect 'more resistance' from Kentpublished at 13:26 British Summer Time 11 May

    Kent 212 & 19-0 (f/o) v Glamorgan 549-9 dec

    Nick Webb
    BBC Radio Wales

Glamorgan have five sessions to win this game but Kent survived the first 40 minutes of their long haul, with a defensive operation taking Ben Compton and Harry Finch through to lunch after being forced to follow on.

The home side resumed with a mountain to climb at 156-8, and although George Garrett edged Asitha Fernando over the slips, the tail-ender dominated the early scoring in a stand of 54.

They lasted 52 minutes before Garrett, on 35, edged Zain ul-Hassan behind and the seamer cleaned up Kashif Ali for three leaving Chris Benjamin stranded on 94 not out in his second match after moving from Warwickshire.

It’s now a question of how fresh Glamorgan can keep their bowlers with more resistance surely ahead of them than in the first innings when Kent slumped to 23-5.

  18. 'Still averaging a wicket per session'published at 13:23 British Summer Time 11 May

    Warwickshire 665-5 dec v Surrey 167-2 - lunch

    Clive Eakin
    BBC CWR Sport

There’s little sign of conditions changing at Edgbaston where batters are continuing to make runs in the sunshine.

Warwickshire’s one success this morning means we’re still averaging a wicket per session in the match.

It was a good ball which found Ryan Patel’s edge, Australian Beau Webster claiming his first victim for the Bears.

What the home bowlers have managed to do so far on the third day is keep it tight. Surrey have added just 69 runs in 32 overs which is buying Warwickshire some time.

If they can at least be close to bowling Surrey out by the end of the day they’ll retain some chance of victory but that’s a tall order against a formidable batting line up with Dan Lawrence and the obdurate Dom Sibley at the crease when they resume after lunch.

    Sussex 284 & 166-5 v Worcestershire 180

    Division Two

    Northamptonshire 238 & 273 v Lancashire 276 & 12-0

  20. Lunch at Wantage Roadpublished at 13:16 British Summer Time 11 May

    Northants 238 & 273 v Lancs 276 & 12-0 (target 236)

That has been quite a morning of action from these two sides and Lancs will be glad that the last few overs brought an air of calm to proceedings with Keaton Jennings and George Bell surviving to lunch.

Lancs were cruising with Northants 189-7 in the second innings but Ben Sanderson knocked them off course with an astonishing 28-ball knock, posting 67 - and that after he was dropped on four.

His innings has given Northants something to hold on to with Lancs now needing to show some steel to get to a target of 236.
