Georiga Voll is making her debut and when you are doing so in a team which is doing really and well and is dominant it means she must have done something impressive to break into that team. It'll be exciting to see her go about her business.

Here come the players for the start of the Australia innings.

After the change of innings, there are 26 overs left in the day, England will know they need to make inroads into this ludicrously long, strong Australian batting line-up.

Conditions should be good for bowling at least...

The lights come on in that twilight period and the ball starts to move a little bit more and as a batter you have to be focused.

As a bowler you sense something is going to happen regardless of the situation. So you've always got that to look forward to, an in to the game. The pink ball does behave differently.

The 10th-wicket partnership between Lauren Bell and Ryana MacDonald-Gay lasted 49 balls, making it the longest 10th0wicket partnership (in terms of balls faced) in 19 women's Tests since the start of 2010.

That was not good enough from England today.

Alana King, she's been exceptional this whole Ashes series, unfortunately it didn't fall her way. This clean sweep is in sight.

Alana King has to settle for a four-for but that that is probably the biggest 'disappointment' for Australia tells you plenty.

A superb bowling performance from the home side with only Nat Sciver-Brunt, and latterly Ryana MacDonald-Gay, offering much resistance for England.

Australia's decision to bowl first has paid off so far.

I'm not sure what they were doing there, the easiest of run outs for the Australians.

Bell run out (Brown) 7 (Eng 170 all out)

Mix up and Lauren Bell is run out by a distance.

A nice shot by Ryana MacDonald-Gay, punching into the off side, and perhaps running because she felt it deserved at least a single.

The problem is, Darcie Brown is at point and moves to her right to gather with all the time in the world to get the throw into Beth Mooney's gloves.

She does just that, Mooney does the rest and England's first innings is done.

Last five bowlers to take a five wicket haul vs England in women's Tests.

    • Nonkululeko Mlaba (SA) - 5/67, Bloemfontein, Dec 2024
    • Deepti Sharma (IND) - 5/7, Mumbai (DYP), Dec 2023
    • Ash Gardner (AUS) - 8/66, Nottingham, Jun 2023
    • Ellyse Perry (AUS) - 6/32, Canterbury, Aug 2015
    • Ellyse Perry (AUS) - 5/38, Perth, Jan 2014

Alana King will be eager to add her name to this list.

  11. Eng 170-9published at 71 overs

Still Alana King cannot take complete her five-for.

The Australia leggie has bowled so well that she deserves it but, for now, Ryana MacDonald-Gay and Lauren Bell are keeping her at bay.

  12. Not outpublished at 70.4 overs

    Eng 170-9

A lot of bat involved so it stays not out.

No wonder the Aussies weren't convinced.

Alana King down on one knee after that delivery.

  14. Australia reviewpublished at 70.4 overs

Alana King hits Lauren Bell on the pad and despite nobody looking entirely convinced, Australia call for a review.

They have two left and just one wicket to get after all.

England are moving on a little bit but they've been disappointing today.

England are trying to crawl their way to 200.

  17. Eng 169-9published at 70 overs

    Bell 7, MacDonald-Gay 14

Lauren Bell uses her long levers to swipe the ball from wide of off, over mid-wicket for four.

The England number 11 certainly seems to enjoy the off-spin of Ash Gardner more than the pace of Darcie Brown.

Seven from the over for the tourists.

  18. Eng 162-9published at 69 overs

Ryana MacDonald-Gay latches onto a rare short ball from Alana King but picks out the fielder at cover.

The field comes up with two balls left in the over but MacDonald-Gay shows soft hands to guide the ball through the gully region for one.

    She'll keep strike.

  19. Eng 161-9published at 68 overs

Australia want to bowl at Lauren Bell and get their wish early in the over as England take a single first ball.

Five deliveries for Darcie Brown to get stuck into the tailender and she so nearly finishes the innings.

Bell chips the ball into the off side but it lands short of the fielder, then plays and misses at two in a row; a full toss that whistles past off then a length delivery that goes narrowly over the top.

  20. Eng 160-9published at 67 overs

With mid-off a bit deeper, Beth Mooney essentially talks England into taking a single when Ryana MacDonald-Gay drives towards that fielder.

"There's one there," the wicketkeeper says, almost disbelievingly when it looks like they might not run.

They do take the single and Lauren Bell gets through the last two balls of Alana King's over.
