For a third over running, Surrey send the first ball to the rope.

This time Grace Harris biffs Amu Surenkumar through point to go to 14.

But wait. The game turns again.

A nice piece of work from Nat Wraith as she whips the bails off with Sophia Dunkley a touch out of her crease. What a moment.

    Surrey 72-3 Target: 154

Grace Harris stays legside and swats Hannah Baker back down the ground for her first boundary.

Sophie Dunkley then smacks a flighted ball down the ground. It climbs high and for a moment you wonder if there's a catch in the offing, but it drops just over the long off boundary.

Surrey need 82 more from 66 balls.

This counter-attack has got Surrey back on course after the wickets of Alice Capsey and Bryony Smith but they still need 7.7 an over.

  4. Dunkley on the chargepublished at 8 overs

    Surrey 59-3 Target: 154

After a super first over from Hannah Baker, Sophia Dunkley greets the first ball of Millie Taylor by hammering it down the ground for four.

The next ball is dragged down and the England batter climbs it into to dispatch back-to-back boundaries.

A pair of twos and a single later and Dunkley is swiftly on to 15 from eight balls.

Nice counter-punch brings 14 from the over.

    Two wickets in three balls!

Alice Capsey is lured down the pitch with a super ball from spinner Hannah Baker.

It beats the advancing batter and Nat Wraith does the rest behind the timbers,.

The top three are all back in the hutch and we have two new batters at the crease - Sophia Dunkley and Grace Harris.

  6. 'Exactly what the Bears needed'published at 18:33 British Summer Time 27 July

    Surrey 42-2 Target: 154

    Nikki Chaudhuri
Commentator on BBC 5 Sports Extra

We talked about those dot balls and buildling the pressure. Yes there were a few boundaries between the pair but they couldn't quite find the timing.

They were trying to get that release shot, trying to force something. Smith goes for 21 and that is exactly what the Bears needed.

  7. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 6 overs

    Smith c Austin b Surenkumar 21 (Surrey 42-2 Target: 154)

Amu Surenkumar was a touch expensive in the eliminator and comes on to bowl the final over of the powerplay.

Lovely stroke as Alice Capsey punches straight down the ground, past the grasp of a diving Surenkumar to the long on boundary.

But Bears end the powerplay with another big wicket.

Bryony Smith skies one into the covers with a big leading edge straight into the hands of Austin.

  8. Postpublished at 5 overs

    Surrey 37-1 Target: 154

Em Arlott in for her second over after making the breakthrough in her first.

Bryony Smith almost chips it towards mid-on, but then pulls the next ball through midwicket for four as Arlott drops short. A fourth boundary takes her to 21 off 13 balls.

The Bears pace bowler tidies up the over with three dots.

  9. Postpublished at 4 overs

    Surrey 32-1 Target: 154

The lights are on and it suddenly looks a little gloomy at the Kia Oval.

Georgia Davis gets her line wrong and Bryony Smith sweeps to the rope before a slog sweep brings back-to-back fours.

The bowler reacts by going over the wicket for a change in angle, but Alice Capsey hammers a well-timed sweep which whistles to the boundary.

    Fourteen from the over.

  10. Postpublished at 3 overs

    Surrey 18-1 Target: 154

    Nice timing!

Bryony Smith cashes in from a bit of width from Issy Wong and dissects the field at deep cover for her first boundary.

The Surrey skipper frees her hands again from another wide ball but brilliant work in the deep from a sprinting Davina Perrin denies Smith a second four. Then a thick outside edge towards deep third.

A slightly hairy single ends a lively third over.

  11. Postpublished at 2 overs

    Surrey 10-1 Target: 154

Em Arlott goes past Alice Capsey's outside edge as she looks to cut square.

Capsey will feel better as she picks up Arlott's final ball and pulls it through midwicket for four.

  12. 'Huge wicket for the Bears'published at 18:15 British Summer Time 27 July

    Surrey 6-1 Target: 154

    Mark Church
    BBC Radio London commentator

Danni Wyatt-Hodge came into this match as the competition's leading run-scorer with 372 runs and that is a huge wicket for the Bears.

  13. wicket

    Wyatt-Hodge c Baker b Arlott 5 (Surrey 6-1 Target: 154)

Em Arlott's first ball is short and wide and Danni Wyatt-Hodge just gets enough on it to pick up the first boundary.

Then next ball she's gone. Big wicket!!

Wyatt-Hodge looks to whip it legside, but Hannah Baker sprints round and makes great ground from deep backward square to take the catch.

    Alice Capsey is in.

  14. Postpublished at 1 over

    Surrey 2-0 Target: 154

Issy Wong is straight on the money with an in-swinging yorker to Bryony Smith first ball which the Surrey skip keeps out.

Super close-in fielding then keeps Smith to a single.

Danni Wyatt-Hodge misses out on a welcoming full toss and then nips through for a single to get off the mark.

    Tight start from Wong.

  15. The chase beginspublished at 18:06 British Summer Time 27 July

    Surrey 0-0 Target: 154

Surrey boast a powerful top order packed full of international quality as they seek to become the first winners of this trophy.

But there will be nerves and a few early wickets, and things could get very interesting.

Openers Danni Wyatt-Hodge and skipper Bryony Smith come to the crease to begin the chase.

Issy Wong, who took four wickets in the eliminator, will take the new ball.

    Surrey v Bears 153-9

    Well that was frantic.

Surrey have been set 154 to win the inaugural Women's Vitality Blast. It is 10 shy of the target they set The Blaze in their semi-final but they won that by 20 runs.

Finely poised you might say and Chris Harby is now in the chair to guide you through what should be an exciting chase.

  17. 'Bears have given themselves a chance'published at 17:58 British Summer Time 27 July

    Surrey v Bears 153-9

    Mark Church
    BBC Radio London commentator

They've got to the 150. From 115-8 in the 15th over this is a good effort from the Bears.

That has been an entertaining, pulsating innings from the Bears.

They went for it all the way through and then played sensibly.

Surrey would probably have taken that at the start but from 115-8 the Bears have given themselves a chance.

  18. BEARS SET SURREY 154 TO WINpublished at 20 overs

    Surrey v Bears 153-9

A misfield at fine leg sees Bears scramble a second run with the last ball of their knock.

Bears are in this game but will need everything to go well with the ball if they are to win.

It could have been significantly better had Laura Harris stayed in or had they not thrown away two wickets to run outs.

But partnerships of 20 for the ninth and 18 for the last wicket between Millie Taylor and Georgia Baker have nudged them to a position which could be defended.

Phoebe Franklin with 2-16 was the pick of the Surrey bowlers and Alexa Stonehouse's 2-39 was a decent contribution.

Surrey were favourites before a ball was bowled and still are... but you never know.

  19. 'They've done really well'published at 17:55 British Summer Time 27 July

    Surrey v Bears 146-9

    Mark Church
    BBC Radio London commentator

The Bears have done really well here.

They have managed to add 31 with an over to go since Laura Harris was out.

They looked like they were going to be bowled out well inside their 20 overs.

  20. Postpublished at 19 overs

    Surrey v Bears 146-9

This pair Georgia Baker and Millie Taylor have done well to climb up to nearly 150 but the Bears will still feel they are well short of a challenging total.

This is a good batting pitch and Bears will need to bowl really well to win.
