  1. 'They'll want 160'published at 17:15 British Summer Time 27 July

    Surrey v Bears 80-4

    Mike Taylor
    BBC WM commentator

They're sticking on the 'who dares wins' principle are the Bears.

I'm sure they'll be thinking they want 160 against a very powerful Surrey line-up.

So 163 was a winning score earlier and they'll want at least that many.

Whether they'll have enough wickets to get there is a good question.

  2. Postpublished at 10 overs

    Surrey v Bears 80-4

Dani Gregory misses her length and Amu Surenkumar sweeps her on the full for another four.

Eleven from the over and the ball goes to Phoebe Franklin for her second over.

  3. Postpublished at 9 overs

    Surrey v Bears 69-4

Amu Surenkumar kickstarts her innings with a fine sweep for four off Alice Capsey to put some balm on a damaging over for the Bears.

The running and the intent is keeping them on the front foot and keeping the run rate reasonable but they cannot keep losing wickets.

The Bears need a partnership to stick albeit with Laura Harris still to come.

  4. 'A gamble too far'published at 17:08 British Summer Time 27 July

    Surrey v Bears 62-4

    Mike Taylor
    BBC WM commentator

They've taken it on once too often, Sterre Kalis is run out for 10.

It's 62-4 and that felt like a gamble too far.

  5. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 8.3 overs

Kalis run out 10 (Surrey v Bears 63-4)

    That was just ridiculous.

Sterre Kalis sent the ball straight to the fielder on the point boundary and seemed hell bent on two despite it never being on.

Ryana MacDonald-Gay fires the ball back and Kalis is miles out of her ground.

It was her call and it was a wicket the Bears did not need to lose.

  6. Postpublished at 8 overs

    Surrey v Bears 61-3

Nat Wraith pounces on another short one, this time from Dani Gregory, bursting it through the off side field to the point boundary.

    That was all class.

But she also gets a life with a big inside edge which just misses her leg stump and gets two runs for her trouble.

  7. 'Both teams will be happy'published at 17:00 British Summer Time 27 July

    Surrey v Bears 52-3

    Mike Taylor
    BBC WM commentator

Surrey wanted to chase and Bears will be very happy setting a target because they have been very good at squeezing teams this season.

They very nearly managed to squeeze Surrey in this group game at Edgbaston. Surrey got to their target in the final over, so probably both teams are happier this way.

  8. 50 runs

50 for the Bearspublished at 6.3 overs

    Surrey v Bears 52-3

Natasha Wraith pounces on a short wide delivery from Phoebe Franklin to bring up the Bears fifty, crashing it to the boundary in front of square.

  9. Postpublished at 6 overs

    Surrey v Bears 45-3

That is the powerplay done and Surrey will be more than happy with their efforts so far with Issy Wong back in the hutch as one of three to go.

Alexa Stonehouse has two and has bowled very nicely but is replaced by Phoebe Franklin.

  10. 'That's a huge wicket'published at 16:56 British Summer Time 27 July

    Surrey v Bears 43-3

    Mark Church
    BBC Radio London commentator

That's a huge wicket. I think Stonehouse has just got that to tail back from left arm over and it's hit the top of the leg stump.

It's a good bit of bowling because Issy Wong was looking to work that legside, but I think she just swung it.

  11. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 5 overs

    Wong b Stonehouse 31 (Surrey v Bears 41-3)

An off cutter and it does for Issy Wong.... a big wicket for Surrey.

Alexa Stonehouse has bowled a tight over with some movement through the air, a yorker and a slower short ball which is called a wide.

But she finishes it with a cracker, angled towards the pads but just moving as it reached Wong's pads, snaking through and taking leg and middle.

A fine delivery and a third bowled victim.

  12. 'It's a very good pitch'published at 16:50 British Summer Time 27 July

    Surrey v Bears 39-2

    Mark Church
    BBC Radio London commentator

They may have lost a couple of early wickets but they're going at nearly 10 an over, thanks in main to Issy Wong who has got 30 of the 39.

Surrey wanted to chase and it's a very, very good pitch this, and big boundaries.

  13. Postpublished at 4 overs

    Surrey v Bears 39-2

The run out is always a possibility with the Bears who seem to operate on the basis that a direct hit is unlikely.

More often than not they are right but it seems a little risky at times.

Ryana MacDonald-Gay finds the edge but it flies for four off the bat of Issy Wong.

Danni Wyatt-Hodge saves another at backward point with a fine stop away to her left and they finish the over with a two to make it 11 from the set.

  14. 'That's a horrible single'published at 16:45 British Summer Time 27 July

    Surrey v Bears 28-2

    Mark Church
    BBC Radio London commentator

If that hits she's gone, but she doesn't hit. She wasn't even in the picture, Issy Wong.

That was a horrible single and Bryony Smith will be disappointed with that.

That's a real chance to get rid of Issy Wong. There is never a run there.

  15. Postpublished at 3 overs

    Surrey v Bears 28-2

Issy Wong rushes a quick single to Bryony Smith who gathers and fires at the non strikers.

That would have been gone with a direct hit and she wasn't far off doing just that. Lucky escape.

Wong then hits out to the cover boundary and there is confusion over a second run. And she would have been run out had they gone for the right end.

She rubs salt in the wound with a well-struck drive over wide mid-off to round off a chaotic over.

  16. 'Capsey will be relieved'published at 16:41 British Summer Time 27 July

    Surrey v Bears 20-2

    Nikki Chaudhuri
Commentator on BBC 5 Sports Extra

She goes for a big swing across the line does Davina Perrin, but it beats the bat and Surrey get their second breakthrough.

Alice Capsey will be relieved after that one for sure.

  17. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 2 overs

    Perrin b Capsey 0 (Surrey v Bears 20-2)

That was a bit of a loose over from Alice Capsey until the final ball

A nice free swing from in-form Issy Wong as Capsey misses her length, sending the ball back over the bowler's head for four.

And another, Wong driving through mid off on the full.

But after they take a single, Capsey responds with the wicket of Davina Perrin who goes without scoring.

Perrin went too early and simply missed it.

  18. Postpublished at 1 overs

    Surrey v Bears 9-1

It's all happening. A wicket and four overthrows in the first over.

Issy Wong sends the ball out to point where it is stopped and fireed back in by Paige Scholfield as they rush for the single.

It goes to the non-strikers end where Phoebe Franklin should have done better, missing it and seeing it race away to the boundary.

    Five runs.

  19. Postpublished at 16:33 British Summer Time 27 July

    Surrey v Bears 4-1

    Mark Church
    BBC Radio London commentator

There's your reply. First ball driven for four, the next one swinging back into the right-hander and Austin is bowled.

It swung back in, onto the pads and ricocheted onto the stumps.

  20. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 0.2 overs

    Austin b Stonehouse 4 (Surrey v Bears 4-1)

Alexa Stonehouse sends down the first ball of the final and Meg Austin crashes it to the cover boundary.

Second ball? Bowled. What a start.

It was full and straight and Austin plays around it.

It brings Issy Wong to the wicket and she arrives laughing and joking with Davina Perrin.
