In reply to Ruth, it's no good Woakes being the leader of the pack if he can't bowl outside of England.

Great batting, it’s a bit boring but they’re sticking to what they want to do.

Really well played, Mark Wood just gave him the width and the length to get it up there.

    Six!

Another maximum for Josh Da Silva to bring up the 400 for West Indies.

Banged in short by Mark Wood and with his pace, even a thick edge from the batter is enough to take the ball high over deep third for six.

Shamar Joseph pumps his fist in approval at the non-striker's end.

That might be it for Chris Woakes. He's had an arm around the shoulder from Ben Stokes and Gus Atkinson is getting loose.

That's a tremendous shot, much needed for the West Indies.

    Shot!

Full from Chris Woakes and Shamar Joseph hammers the ball over mid-off for four. Very cleanly struck.

That's remarkable, its kind of a back-foot punch over point.

The pace of Wood just flying off the bat.

  13. 50 runs

50 for Josh Da Silvapublished at 102 overs

    WI 394-9

The first two or three balls of every over seem a bit pointless at the moment. With the field spread, England aren't trying particularly hard to get Josh Da Silva out and the batter isn't really looking to attack all that much either.

Even when the set batter is trying to hit boundaries, these passages of play can be quite tedious. When they're not, it goes to another level entirely.

England do bring the field up for the last ball of the over, though, and now Da Silva plays a big shot. Smashing the ball high over the off side for six!

That's more like it! What a way to bring up your half-century. Da Silva's fifth in Tests.

Great to see Chris Woakes settling in to the role of leader of the bowling attack. He's lived in other bowlers' shadows for far too long, and he deserves to be in the limelight more.

I'm not sure what the message from Josh Da Silva was but Shamar Joseph goes for a booming drive as Chris Woakes goes full.

It nips back a touch and through another sizeable gate. Just wide of the off stump.

I don't think this is the right field for Woakes' bowling.

The ball is seaming quite a lot.

Again the field spreads with Josh Da Silva at the start of the over and Chris Woakes a wicket away from a five-for.

After turning down singles from the first three balls, Da Silva takes one from the fourth, leaving Shamar Joseph two balls to face.

Ben Stokes can just bide his time as captain here, just see how it unfolds, make sure Da Silva doesn't pick up too many boundaries.

West Indies turn down a single from the fifth ball as a thick outside edge Josh Da Silva almost carries down to Joe Root at deep third.

But England, oddly, don't bring the field in for the last ball and Da Silva cuts for an easy single to keep strike.

    All a bit strange.
