Summary

After a short discussion and a few nervous looks up at the clouds above, the umpires decide the light is still acceptable.

On we go but that suggests the light may become a factor before too long.

  2. Eng 159-3published at 31 overs

    Root 6, Brook 13

Having been starved of the strike for much of the time since coming to the crease, Joe Root does finally get on strike.

He shuffles across his stumps and clips the ball away fine for four. West Indies consider a review for lbw, thinking it might have been off pad rather than bat.

They decide against it and that's a smart decision as the umpire gives it as runs.

England are under a bit of pressure, perfect bowling conditions for the West Indies.

  4. Eng 151-3published at 30 overs

Very, very risky from Harry Brook.

He backs away to leg to try and carve the ball behind square on the off side - and sends it just over the head of the gully fielder.

Given there is now a fielder down on the rope at deep third, it's a lot of risk for a single.

I don't know what Brook has done but he's sent it for four.

It's an amazing shot though, the timing on it, he just flicks it.

  6. Eng 148-3published at 29.3 overs

    Top shot!

Short from Alzarri Joseph and Harry Brook leans back and ramps it over the slips for four.

He makes it look like the simplest thing in the world.

Dare I say it, the crowd is getting very 5pm on a Saturday in Nottingham.

  8. Eng 144-3published at 29 overs

Drop and run from Joe Root to start the Jayden Seales over. A single into the off side.

Seales then beats Harry Brook with a full, swinging delivery - and a graphic now shows us that West Indies have found significantly more swing since the ball was changed.

Brook will stay on strike for the start of the next over after working a single to mid-wicket to end the over.

The West Indies should have a spring in their step as there is an opening.

  10. Eng 142-3published at 28 overs

    Lead by 101

Harry Brook has shown himself to be fallible to the short ball and Alzarri Joseph wastes no time testing him again.

The fast bowler does waste a delivery, though, sending it down leg and when the line is better, Brook pulls in front of square to get off the mark with a couple and take England's lead past 100.

England are really struggling in the 70s this year, they've had eight dismissals in the 70s.

Two new batters and a new/changed ball that seems to be working for West Indies.

    Game on.

    Duckett lbw b A Joseph 76 (Eng 140-3)

Lengthy delay waiting for ball-tracking but, eventually, Ben Duckett has to go.

It was very full and as soon as it was shown that he hadn't got any bat on it, Duckett knew he was in trouble.

Hitting middle and leg less than a third of the way up. Good bowling by Alzarri Joseph and West Indies are fighting back again.

This will be a huge disappointment for Duckett if it is out.

  17. England reviewpublished at 27.2 overs

Huge appeal from West Indies as Alzarri Joseph hits Ben Duckett on the toe with a yorker.

It's given out but the England man reviews.

I think he's in trouble here.

I just feel like Duckett wants to get this changed ball softened up and then it will be back to normal proceedings.

  19. Eng 140-2published at 27 overs

If you're going to flash, flash hard - and that's what Ben Duckett does.

Hung outside off by Jayden Seales and Duckett thrashes at it, getting a thick edge up and over the slips for four.
