Summary

  1. wicket

WICKET Zafar LBW b Higgins 86published at 14:13 British Summer Time 11 September

    Middlesex 377 v Gloucs 309-9 dec

Zafar Gohar is forward to Ryan Higgins and hit on the pad.

Inside edge? No - and he's in front on middle.

A fine rescue job nonetheless after Gloucestershire slipped to 156-6.

Archie Bailey is not going to bat as Gloucestershire have declared nine down.

  2. Gloucesterhire pass 300published at 14:12 British Summer Time 11 September

    Middlesex 377 v Gloucs 309-8

At one stage this morning Gloucestershire were in danger of being asked to follow on.

    Might parity be possible now?

They have a second batting point in the 86th over thanks to Zafar Gohar, who aims a flashing drive at Ryan Higgins and gets a big leading edge over slip and through a vacant third man for four.

Four more in the next over, driving Toby Roland-Jones through the off side.

Lancs are looking down the barrel of relegation here. Based on the current performance levels and morale within the dressing room, they have next to no chance of at least one win from the remaining Somerset & Worcs matches. I have sadly written this game off already - surprise, surprise.

  4. Bedingham sets new record score for any Durham playerpublished at 14:08 British Summer Time 11 September

    Durham 565-7 v Lancs 288

David Bedingham faces Tom Hartley on 272.

Two needed for the record. He turns the first ball off his pads for one.

He's gone level with Martin Love on 273 - the highest score ever made by a Durham player.

Matt Potts gets one off the fifth ball to deep point.

There it is! He has the record outright with a single pushed carefully into long on.

Warm applause all round the ground as Bedingham breaks a 21-year-old record.

  5. wicket

WICKET Goldsworthy b Roach 9published at 14:06 British Summer Time 11 September

    Somerset 317 & 12-2 v Surrey 321

    Surrey right on top now.

Lewis Goldsworthy has struggled out there and looks to pull Kemar Roach.

But the ball keeps a trifle low and skids through under his bat and clips the top of off stump.

Somerset are eight ahead and, with Tom Banton unlikely to bat, are effectively three wickets down.

Tom Abell, what have you got?

  6. wicket

WICKET De Leede st Hurst b Wells 4published at 14:03 British Summer Time 11 September

    Durham 562-7 v Lancs 228

Bas de Leede is down the track to Luke Wells trying to belt him into the stratosphere and misses.

After a bit of deliberation he's ruled out stumped rather than bowled.

    Matt Potts is in next.

  8. Postpublished at 14:02 British Summer Time 11 September

    Kent 173-9 v Hampshire 403

George Garrett has looked very solid so far in his 55-ball 13.

He and Jas Singh have put on 13 for the last wicket so far, while taking 30-odd balls out of the match.

Still a long way to go to equal Hampshire's tenth wicket partnership (71 between Brad Wheal and Mo Abbas).

  9. wicket

WICKET Vaughan b Al Hasan 3published at 14:02 British Summer Time 11 September

    Somerset 317 & 8-1 v Surrey 321

Shakib Al Hasan strikes second ball!

Archie Vaughan looks to flick away a delivery on off stump but seems to play down the wrong line and is almost yorked.

The Bangladesh all-rounder took four wickets first time around and is in the wickets again already.

    Tom Lammonby is up next.

  10. wicket

WICKET Root b Crocombe 19published at 14:00 British Summer Time 11 September

    Sussex 491 v Glamorgan 186 & 55-2

Both Glamorgan openers back in the hutch.

Billy Root walks off still practicing his shot after missing a quicker ball from Henry Crocombe which uproots two stumps.

    Glamorgan in a hole.

  11. Play under way at Leicesterpublished at 14:00 British Summer Time 11 September

    Leicestershire 98 & 90-3 v Yorkshire 379

Yorkshire only managed one wicket before the rain came this morning.

They will certainly be wanting quite a few more than that to force through a quick victory.

George Hill takes the ball after the break and has Rehan Ahmed blocking immediately.

  12. Postpublished at 13:59 British Summer Time 11 September

    Somerset 317 & 7-0 v Surrey 321

Another swing and another play and miss from Lewis Goldsworthy.

He toe-ends the final ball of Kemar Roach's third over to deny the West Indian a maiden. It wasn't far away from the fielder, mind you.

  13. wicket

WICKET Slater b Harmer 8published at 13:58 British Summer Time 11 September

    Essex 457 v Notts 93 & 31-1

    Essex celebrateImage source, Rex Features

Stop it, Simon Harmer, that is naughty.

The turn on that ball. Utterly deceives Ben Slater as it hits the ground and then bounces off in almost totally the opposite direction, taking the bails off as it does.

The first Notts wicket to fall in the second innings - but the 10th overall today.

  14. Somerset move into the leadpublished at 13:56 British Summer Time 11 September

    Somerset 317 & 6-0 v Surrey 321

Ooof, Lewis Goldsworthy won't want another look at that stroke.

He slashes outside off stump and is beaten all ends up as the ball flies through to wicketkeeper Ben Foakes.

The Somerset then attempts a pull which is in the air. But safe. Single.

Archie Vaughan looks more comfortable at the crease as he picks up two from the next ball to take Somerset quickly back into the lead.

Less good news for the hosts is the sight of Tom Banton on crutches.

  15. wicket

WICKET Raine c Bell b Wells 17published at 13:56 British Summer Time 11 September

    Durham 556-6 v Lancs 228

David Bedingham gets a single off Luke Wells to backward point.

He's on 269 - four runs short of the individual batting record for Durham.

    Ben Raine sweeps for one.

One more to Bedingham into the leg side where four fielders are set deep.

Out! Ben Raine gets a leading edge and loops the ball up to George Bell at third man.

Bas de Leede is in next.

  16. Rhodes and Davies in complete controlpublished at 13:52 British Summer Time 11 September

    Worcestershire 307, Warwickshire 128 & 89-1

    Ged Scott
    BBC Sport at Worcester

Bizarrely, after all Warwickshire's batting struggles, Will Rhodes and Alex Davies have now put together the biggest partnership of the match, i'm reliably informed by my BBC colleague Clive Eakin.

They have now put on 84, surpassing the 76-run stand between Brett D'Oliveira and Matthew Waite yesterday.

The Bears now look in complete control - and it has all gone very quiet at New Road.

  17. Pitch inspection at Leicesterpublished at 13:51 British Summer Time 11 September

    Leicestershire 98 & 90-3 v Yorkshire 379

Umpires Watts and Shantry have had a scout and think the conditions are ready for cricket to return.

They have opted for a 14:00 BST re-start.

  18. wicket

WICKET Akhter LBW b Roland-Jones 30published at 13:51 British Summer Time 11 September

    Middlesex 377 v Gloucs 289-8

Middlesex celebrate a wicketImage source, Rex Features

Back of a length. Caught on the crease.

The ball strikes a little high on the pad but Zaman Akhter is right back in front of middle and leg.

Toby Roland-Jones breaks through for Middlesex and now Ajeet Singh Dale will have a bat.

Rojo has 5-69 in 21.4 overs.

  19. Postpublished at 13:51 British Summer Time 11 September

    Somerset 317 & 3-0 v Surrey 321

Archie Vaughan is off the mark second ball as he flicks a Dan Worrall delivery off his pads for a single.

    One from the over.

Kemar Roach, back in the Surrey fold for the first time since May, follows it with a maiden.

  20. 50 runs

50 up for Glamorganpublished at 13:49 British Summer Time 11 September

    Sussex 491 v Glamorgan 186 & 51-1

Colin Ingram has been ticking along nicely as Glamorgan look to chip away at their big deficit on first innings.

Ollie Robinson serves up a half-volley on off stump and Ingram is not going to miss out on that, dispatching that through the covers for his sixth four. He goes to 35.

It takes Glamorgan past 50 and reduces the deficit to a still daunting 254.
