Summary

  1. wicket

WICKET Aldridge b Clark 10published at 14:52 British Summer Time 11 September

    Somerset 317 & 52-4 v Surrey 321

Somerset's hopes are heading south in a hurry.

Kasey Aldridge has a big stroke of luck as he gets a thick edge to Jordan Clark's first ball of the innings and it slips past leg stump away for four.

But next ball, Clark does beat Aldridge for pace and the ball clips the off-stump bail.

James Rew joins Tom Lammonby in the last chance saloon.

  2. wicket

WICKET Stoneman c Bancroft b Bailey 7published at 14:50 British Summer Time 11 September

    Middlesex 377 & 34-1 v Gloucs 309-9 dec

Archie Bailey is coming on to bowl at the Nursery End and Sam Robson dabs the first ball to backward square for two.

The next ball is a bit legside and brings a leg bye.

Edged and gone! Archie Bailey has his first wicket in first class cricket.

Pitched up, angling across and edged to Cameron Bancroft at second slip.

Mark Stoneman is on his way back to the pavilion.

    Max Holden to bat next.

    Shot, Tom Lammonby!

Dan Worrall bangs one in short but the Somerset batter is on to it quickly and pulls it decisively through midwicket for his first boundary from is 24th ball.

Kasey Aldridge then takes a couple and nudges a single off Shakib Al Hasan's seventh over as Somerset edge their lead to 44

  4. 50 runs

50 for Notts' Hameedpublished at 14:49 British Summer Time 11 September

    Essex 457 v Notts 93 & 81-2

Positives have been few and far between these past couple of days for Nottinghamshire.

However, skipper Haseeb Hameed provides a rare ray of light by reaching his 50.

That's 21 more than the highest scorer in Notts' awful first innings. Indeed, they are not far off passing that dismal total of 93.

They still need a miracle to avoid defeat, mind, still more than 250 runs behind.

  5. wicket

WICKET Rahane b Coad 22published at 14:48 British Summer Time 11 September

    Leicestershire 98 & 131-4 v Yorkshire 379

    A huge wicket for Yorkshire!

You thought that if Leicestershire were going to save this match, Indian Test batter Ajinkya Rahane would have to spend a lot of time in the middle.

But Ben Coad gets him to play on and Yorkshire have a day three victory back in mind.

KENT BOWLED OUT FOR 207published at 14:45 British Summer Time 11 September

    Kent 207 v Hampshire 403

14 balls with the new ball and Hampshire have their tenth wicket.

Mo Abbas pins Jas Singh (18) after a very useful 47-run stand with George Garrett.

To enforce the follow-on or not, is the question for James Vince...

    Somerset 317 & 40-3 v Surrey 321

Life continues to be tough if you're a Somerset batter right now.

The hosts have mustered just three boundaries from the opening 16 overs.

There's no let up in the pressure from Shakib Al Hasan whose sixth over costs a single to Kasey Aldridge.

Considering we have barely managed to get over 200 in our last five County Championship innings, a lead of 345 is sadly going to be a step too far. Division Two awaits the Red Rose but more importantly Benkenstein and Porterfield's methods and futures have to seriously considered for the next season as this season has been nothing short of atrocious.

Josh Bohannon is off the mark first ball, driving Matt Potts firmly down the ground.

Luke Wells gets two fours in the over off Ben Raine, tucking a leg side ball away fine and punching the last ball away through backward point.

    Sussex 491 v Glamorgan 186 & 91-2

Fynn Hudson-Prentice has made a tidy start since joining the Sussex attack.

He finally leaks runs off his 11th ball as Kiran Carlson drives the paceman through the covers. It rolls down the hill and beats the chasing fielder to the rope.

Carlson top-scored in Glamorgan's below-par first knock with 56. How the visitors will crave an even bigger score.

Four more runs to Sam Robson, driving Ajeet Singh Dale firmly through long off. Immaculate shot.

Seven runs off the over in all.

Tom Price appeals for caught behind in the next over but that's a play and miss by Robson going forward to defend.

This is cricket on fast forward. 25 runs in five overs.

WICKET Jennings c Ackermann b Potts 0published at 14:37 British Summer Time 11 September

    Durham 573-9 dec v Lancs 288 & 2-1

Two runs off the Ben Raine over.

Matt Potts is getting good lift and movement off the seam away from Keaton Jennings and strikes third ball!

Lancashire lose their leading run scorer early.

Jennings is half forward and fencing at the ball.

Edged low to Colin Ackermann at second slip, moving in front of Scott Borhwick at first.

Josh Bohannon is in at three.

I think the ball that they've just thrown away will be softer than a tennis ball.

  17. new ball

New ballpublished at 14:36 British Summer Time 11 September

    Kent 198-9 v Hampshire 403

Like Hampshire, Kent's tenth wicket is their second-highest of the innings.

George Garrett and Jas Singh have put on 38.

But a new ball has been whipped out of the pocket of Ian Blackwell's white jacket.

Mo Abbas will take it. Hampshire will hope it won't be used for long.

  18. ouch!

    Kent 198-9 v Hampshire 403

James Fuller has been bowling a lot of bouncers at Jas Singh.

But this time he's gone very very full with a beamer into the batter's midriff. He's been absolutely pinned by that, no chance of avoiding a painful blow.

Absolutely no chance that was done on purpose by Fuller.

  19. wicket

WICKET Abell lbw b Shakib 18published at 14:34 British Summer Time 11 September

    Somerset 317 & 37-3 v Surrey 321

    Big wicket!

A huge blow for home hopes as Shakib Al Hasan turns one past the forward defensive prod of Tom Abell and thuds into back pad.

    Lovely bowling.

Somerset lose a third wicket with a lead of 33.

With Tom Banton on crutches, Somerset send in Kasey Aldridge.

The bowler is promoted two spots up the order above Banton and James Rew.

  20. Postpublished at 14:33 British Summer Time 11 September

    Essex 457 v Notts 93 & 70-2

Some very dark grey clouds at Chelmsford, Matt.

The weather could be Notts' only hope of avoiding defeat.

Hameed, in fairness, is doing his bit with the bat, unbeaten on 47 off 66 balls after a nicely-cut four.
