  1. Tea at Southamptonpublished at 15:25 British Summer Time 23 May

    Hants 154 v Sussex

Sussex will be back out with the bat at about 3.40pm or thereabouts but they are going to take an early tea.

  2. 50 runs

for Michael Pepperpublished at 54 overs

    Surrey v Essex 190-7

Tip and run off Nathan Smith takes Michael Pepper to 50 for the fourth time this season - this one has taken him 70 balls.

By instinct an attacking batsman, he has tempered that with a measure of discretion in this innings, which has been an invaluable one for his side.

Shane Snater goes for a wild drive and it flies over the slips for four.

  3. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:24 British Summer Time 23 May

    Latham c Roderick b Brookes 59 (Worcestershire v Warwickshire 164-3)

    Worcestershire finally break through.

Ethan Brookes puts one in the perfect place, with a whisper of away swing, and Tom Latham gets the drive out.

It grazes the edge through to Gareth Roderick behind the stumps.

Given how long Latham's been in, it was a surprise he didn't middle that.

Credit to Brookes, who found just enough movement.

    Partnership broken at 109.

  4. 200 up for Derbyshirepublished at 57.2 overs

    Derbys 204-1 v Kent

A single for Harry Came takes Derbyshire to 200 and Caleb Jewell despatches Jake Ball's next two deliveries for four - a pull, with one hand coming off the bat, and a cover drive. He is 87 not out.

  5. 50 runs

for James Salespublished at 15:22 British Summer Time 23 May

    Northamptonshire 137-4 v Gloucestershire

Gutsy stuff from Northants post lunch as James Sales brings up a very valuale half-century.

It's a lovely bit of deftness that brings up his 50 - a late dab off Ollie Price - off that goes down to deep third.

Sales cut that out of the keeper's palms pretty much.

  6. Raine before rain..?published at 15:21 British Summer Time 23 May

    Durham 215-6 v Somerset

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

The clouds just beginning to build up to the west, where this next weather front is coming from.

I think we'll be ok today, hopefully the rain will come through tonight.

Martin Emmerson: Highs of 14 degrees today apparently.

It's going to get quite wet and windy over the bank holiday weekend..

    Ben Raine on strike...

  7. Postpublished at 52.2 overs

    Surrey v Essex 179-7

Finally, the sixth member of Surrey's seam attack for this match is given his chance - here comes Jamie Overton.

Having dropped two slip catches earlier on, he is out of luck again as Shane Snater pulls and a top edge flies over the keeper for four.

  8. wicket

HANTS 154 ALL OUTpublished at 15:20 British Summer Time 23 May

    Turner b Coles 0

And that brings to an end a fairly poor effort with the bat and a very fine one with the ball.

John Turner is bamboozled by James Coles and Hampshire's innings is over.

Chief plaudits are awarded to Henry Crocombe playing his first match since December (England Lions) he ends with 4-27 which included a spell of 3-1 in six balls.

It was that intervention which put the skids under Hampshire's batting effort and with James Coles finishing off the tail that is maximum bowling points for Sussex.

  9. 50 runs

50 for Brownpublished at 15:18 British Summer Time 23 May

    Hants 154-9 v Sussex

Ben Brown moves to his half century with a pull for four off Fynn Hudson-Prentice.

  10. 100 partnership for Derbyshirepublished at 15:17 British Summer Time 23 May

    Derbys 199-1 v Kent

Harry Came steers Matt Parkinson into a vacant gap in the covers as he and Caleb Jewell reach a 100-run stand from 190 balls. Derbyshire have the foundation for a big total - will they capitalise?

  11. Division Two updatepublished at 15:15 British Summer Time 23 May

Caleb Jewell and Harry Came are nearing a century partnership for Derbyshire, who are 191-1 in the 56th over against Kent.

Kiran Carlson is three runs away from following Sam Northeast to 50, with Glamorgan now 160-3 in the 50th against Middlesex.

Lancashire have lost their fifth wicket at Leicester, with George Bell caught off Ian Holland for 12 - the visitors are 147-5.

James Sales and Saif Zaib continue to defy Gloucestershire at Wantage Road, where Northants are now 130-4 in the 51st over.

  12. 200 runs

for Durhampublished at 15:12 British Summer Time 23 May

    Durham 202-6 v Somerset

Durham will obviously want a lot more than this but it's a psychological boost nonetheless.

Ben Raine has lit the fire since he came in, dashing to 16 off nine balls while man-for-a-crisis Colin Ackermann ticks along in his slip stream.

This isn't a crisis (yet) but Durham will feel it wouldn't take much to make it one.

  13. 150 runs

up for Warwickshirepublished at 15:09 British Summer Time 23 May

    Worcestershire v Warwickshire 153-2

A notable double at New Road as the Bears bring up their 150 and Tom Latham and Sam Hain take their third-wicket stand to 100.

It's come off 166 balls and has put the visitors on top.

Feels like a long time since Alex Davies was out for 21 and that's because it was.

Worcestershire starting to scratch around a bit for some inspiration.

  14. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:06 British Summer Time 23 May

    Wheal b Coles 1 (Hants 146-9 v Sussex)

That has turned enough to get through the gap and Brad Wheal leans on his bat after hearing the rattle behind him.

Nine down and Sussex will be batting soon you feel.

  15. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:05 British Summer Time 23 May

    Abbott c Coles b Crocombe 0 (Hants 138-8 v Sussex)

Crocombe takes a fourth with a delivery which spits off the track and takes the shoulder of Kyle Abbott's bat and flies to James Coles at third slip.

  16. 100 partnership for Glamorganpublished at 47.3 overs

    Glamorgan 154-3 v Middlesex

Sam Northeast tucks Zafar Gohar's left-arm spin to mid-wicket for a single as he and Kiran Carlson bring up a 100 stand from 157 balls.

They have overseen an excellent recovery since Marnus Labuschagne's downfall left Glamorgan on 52-3.

  17. Postpublished at 48 overs

    Surrey v Essex 163-7

Michael Pepper is very much Essex's best hope now of getting anywhere near a batting bonus point.

He flicks Sam Curran down to fine leg for four and meets the next with a ferocious Robin Smith-like square cut which brings him another boundary and takes him to 43 not out.

Pepper made 109 against Surrey at Chelmsford in the opening match of the season. It's probably safe to say that Essex aren't going to get close to matching their 582-6 declared in this innings.

  18. How's stat!?published at 14:59 British Summer Time 23 May

    Durham 185-6 v Somerset

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

17.7% of Ollie Robinson's dismissals for Durham in first-class cricket have come from Matt or Matthews!

  19. 50 runs

for Tom Lathampublished at 14:58 British Summer Time 23 May

    Worcestershire v Warwickshire 147-2

Tom Latham joins Sam Hain in notching his half-ton.

It's come off 128 balls with seven fours and it's the second one for Warwickshire (the last one he got he converted into a maiden century).

Meanwhile, Hain has hit the gas.

He's taken 13 from Bears (young) old boy Ethan Brookes first over to move up to 63.

  20. Postpublished at 46.5 overs

    Surrey v Essex 155-7

Shane Snater clips Dan Worrall through mid-wicket for four.

It is almost his final scoring shot as an away swinger flashes past the outside edge as he tries to drive.
