  1. Postpublished at 10:55 BST 18 September

    Surrey 79-1 (Target 315)

Josh Tongue rips one past Ollie Pope's outside edge with a ball which bounces and lifts and squares-up the England vice captain.

The noise levels have gone up in the field with that early breakthrough.

Just the two runs from that over.

  2. Postpublished at 10:53 BST 18 September

    Sussex 232-8 v Yorkshire 194

Damp under foot at Hove to start the day but the groundstaff have been at work and there will be an inspection at 11:15am.

Sussex lead by 38, with Ollie Robinson and Sean Hunt the not out batters.

  3. Postpublished at 10:51 BST 18 September

    Surrey 77-1 (Target 315)

Ollie Pope goes for an ambitious drive at Brett Hutton and hits fresh air.

Hutton tries again, Pope leaves it alone.

A few flutters in the Surrey dressing room at that?

    It's a maiden.

Grace Road, LeicesterImage source, Rex Features

    Après le déluge.

Following a 10:30 inspection at Grace Road, the umpires decide that an early lunch will be taken at mid-day and there will be no play this morning.

Leicestershire inch ever closer towards the Division Two title.

  5. wicket

WICKETpublished at 10:48 BST 18 September

    Middleton c Aldridge b Vaughan 9 (Somerset 454-8 dec v Hants 172 & 37-2)

Fletcha Middleton goes back to Archie Vaughan and glances, but he is caught at the second attempt by Kasey Aldridge at leg slip.

Great start by Somerset, great field placement, but Tom Abell will play no part for them today under concussion protocols after being hit on the head while fielding - Josh Thomas has taken his place

  6. Postpublished at 10:48 BST 18 September

    Surrey 77-1 (Target 315)

A tenth lbw decision of the game gets Notts back in this.

Some of those have looked a little harsh but Rory Burns can have no complaints.

There's another shout but it's missing Dom Sibley's leg stump.

  7. wicket

WICKETpublished at 10:46 BST 18 September

    Van Buuren c&b Broad 44 (Gloucs 180-6 v Northants 206)

Graeme van Buuren has played an excellent hand to drag Gloucestershire towards parity, but he goes for one shot too many.

A miscued pull goes straight up and Justin Broad takes a decent catch running forward off his own bowling.

  8. wicket

WICKETpublished at 10:43 BST 18 September

    Burns lbw b Tongue 45 (Surrey 74-1 - Target 315)

    Now then...

Josh Tongue bowls full and straight and smacks one into Rory Burns' pads - that's as out as you can be.

    Huge breakthrough.

Here comes Ollie Pope early in the day, exactly what Notts wanted.

  9. wicket

WICKETpublished at 10:43 BST 18 September

    Wells lbw Roland-Jones 62 (Lancs 110-1 v Middx 211)

Lancashire lose their first wicket at Old Trafford as Toby Roland-Jones finds a little bit of inswing and Luke Wells is on his way.

Keaton Jennings is 38 not out as he is joined by Josh Bohannon.

  10. Postpublished at 10:42 BST 18 September

    Surrey 74-0 (Target 315)

A maiden from Brett Hutton - a better line and length.

Just looking at our straw poll (10:34 BST) it has changed from yesterday.

At the start of the Surrey run chase the majority of you felt Notts would win this but that's now swung to the home side.

Is there another twist in this?

  11. Postpublished at 10:40 BST 18 September

    Somerset 454-8 dec v Hampshire 172 & 36-1

    Ouch.

Archie Vaughan drops short, Fletcha Middleton cuts and the ball hits silly point somewhere near the ankle.

    First run of the day.

  12. wicket

WICKETpublished at 10:39 BST 18 September

    Lees c Roderick b Taylor 8 (Durham 10-1 v Worcs 591-9 dec)

Alex Lees has thrown the bat at anything outside off stump and that proves his downfall.

A little snick through to Gareth Roderick gives Worcestershire their first wicket.

It's good bowling from Tom Taylor to pick up his 50th wicket in the County Championship this season. No other bowler has reached that landmark so far this season.

Ben McKinney is in at number three.

  13. Postpublished at 10:39 BST 18 September

    Surrey 74-0 (Target 315)

Six runs from Josh Tongue's opening over of the day.

Just like yesterday, Notts haven't got their line right to either batsman yet.

Incidentally, yesterday Rory Burns and Dom Sibley went past 1000 runs as an opening pair for the season.

  14. Postpublished at 10:36 BST 18 September

    Somerset 454-8 dec v Hampshire 172 & 35-1

    The acid test for Hampshire.

Jack Leach enters the fray. Turn immediately as Nick Gubbins pushes forward in defence. Another maiden.

Lewis Goldsworthy's over was just to facilitate a change of ends. Archie Vaughan returns.

  15. Postpublished at 10:34 BST 18 September

    Surrey 68-0 (Target 315)

Two runs taken from that first Brett Hutton - both runs to Dom Sibley.

A quick straw poll - thumbs up if you think Surrey will get this done today or thumbs down for Notts to get those 10 wickets.

  16. Postpublished at 10:34 BST 18 September

    Somerset 454-8 dec v Hampshire 172 & 35-1

A surprise decision? Lewis Goldsworthy is handed the ball for Somerset.

Two slips, two short legs for the left-arm spinner. That's a maiden.

  17. Postpublished at 10:34 BST 18 September

    Durham 4-0 v Worcs 591-9 dec

Former England opener Alex Lees gets a thick outside edge past the slip cordon that runs away for the first boundary of the day.

The left-hander was in control with the ball going straight down.

  18. Play underway at Tauntonpublished at 10:32 BST 18 September

    Somerset 454-8 dec v Hants 172 & 35-1

Ali Orr fell to the final ball before the rain hit Taunton yesterday, so Nick Gubbins is facing his first delivery, and the last of Archie Vaughan’s 11th over.

The left-handed batter negotiates it safely and Hampshire’s quest for a great escape begins. A minimum of 576 balls to come…

  19. 'It's very nicely set up'published at 10:31 BST 18 September

    Surrey 173 & 66-0 v Notts 231 & 256

    Mark Church
    BBC Radio London commentator

At least it's a simple equation today - both teams need to win.

Surrey need 249 runs and Notts need 10 wickets.

  20. Postpublished at 10:31 BST 18 September

    Surrey 66-0 (Target 315)

    Here we go.

It's Dom Sibley to face the first ball of the day.

Brett Hutton has the ball in hand.

Sibley eases the first one into the leg side but there's no run.
