What a day of County Championship cricket!

Following a nerve-jangling 20-run win over Surrey, Nottinghamshire will take a 14-point lead into the final round of matches, when they will look to seal a first title since 2010 in their game with Warwickshire.

At the bottom, Worcestershire are down, and five other teams will scrap it out to avoid becoming the second to be relegated.

Congratulations to Leicestershire and Glamorgan, champions and runners-up in Division Two without even making it to the middle today.

We will be back with you next Wednesday for the final round of games, but don't miss our coverage of the One-Day Cup final between Hampshire and Worcestershire on Saturday.

Congratulations to Leicestershire who have sealed the title and will play in the top flight for the first time since 2003.

Glamorgan will join them in Division One after their rain-affected draw at Derbyshire.

Gloucestershire have been docked two points for a slow over rate in their win over Northants.

Kent will definitely finish with the wooden spoon.

So, Nottinghamshire lead Surrey by 14 points with one game to go.

It should have been a 15-point lead but they've lost one for a slow over rate at The Oval.

The title race goes to the final week.

At the bottom, the battle to stay in the division will also go to the final week with a big game between Yorkshire and Durham, but only 10 poiints cover the teams from fifth to ninth.

    Worcestershire are already down.

Ollie Price's go-to shot has been the sweep and he nails Rob Keogh in front of square to move past 50.

Crucially, in the context of the game, it brings the required rate back under six.

Calvin Harrison is playing a fine hand for Northants here.

Turning it a long way and varying his pace to good effect. Just four runs off the bat and one leg bye from the over.

Before you head off and start buttering scones for tea (or is it pronounced 'scones'?), there is still a game going on at Bristol, where Gloucestershire were set a target of 158 against Northants.

The players shake hands and that's the end of the game.

There'll be disappointment amongst the Somerset fans for not taking the wickets needed to win.

All credit to the Hampshire batters who showed real grit, determination and guts.

    It's a draw!

  20. SOMERSET DRAW WITH HAMPSHIREpublished at 17:32 BST 18 September

Hampshire hold on and secure 10 extra points in their fight against relegation.

A courageous final day from Nick Gubbins, Ben Brown, Felix Organ and Co.

Somerset pick up 16 points but their hopes of finally winning the County Championship will have to wait another year.

Archie Vaughan ends up with six for 96 in the second innings. He and Jack Leach twirled away tirelessly all day, but time has run out.
