    Somerset 454-8 dec v Hampshire 172 & 112-3

Nick Gubbins and Ben Brown have been in so much control that it hasn't felt like there has even been a serious appeal for quite some time.

They have shared 55 runs in 205 balls.

A new ball is coming up in an over., though...

  2. Postpublished at 14:34 BST 18 September

    Surrey 265-7 (Target 315)

Full from Brett Hutton and past the edge of Tom Lawes' bat it goes.

Back comes Lawes, off the back foot he hammers one away to the boundary.

Two balls later he drives down the ground for four.

    Fifty runs needed.

I think this is going pretty much how we saw it when we turned up this morning.

    Bring the spinner back on?

  3. Postpublished at 14:32 BST 18 September

    Sussex 250 v Yorks 194 & 45-3

Jack Carson overpitches and Jonny Bairstow crashes it through the covers for four.

Same type of floated delivery two balls later, same result.

Bairstow moves to 23 not out.

What a match we've had here.

I think neither of the sides deserve to lose.

  5. Postpublished at 14:30 BST 18 September

    Surrey 256-7 (Target 315)

Surrey have won the past three titles relatively comfortably.

They've only won four games this season compared to eight last year but, crucially haven't lost yet.

They are not used to being in this position.

  6. Postpublished at 14:29 BST 18 September

    Lancashire 375-5d v Middlesex 211 & 4-0

Middlesex are back at the wicket.

Josh de Caires steers a drive through the covers off Tom Bailey.

What drama is coming up at Old Trafford this afternoon?

  7. 100 runs

for Emilio Gaypublished at 14:28 BST 18 September

    Durham 206-3 v Worcs 591-9 dec

A dab down to third man goes for four and brings up an excellent hundred for Durham opener Emilio Gay.

He's given Worcestershire no chances and ticked along at a nice tempo.

  8. Postpublished at 14:26 BST 18 September

    Sussex 250 v Yorks 194 & 37-3

Time for the off-spin of Jack Carson.

The first one turns extravagantly from off to leg and beats everything on its way to fine leg for four byes.

  9. Postpublished at 14:26 BST 18 September

    Surrey 253-7 (Target 315)

It's gone a bit quiet around The Oval now.

Shall I mention the possibility of a tie at this point?

I mean, we've had just about everything else!

  10. 'Opportunity to get control back'published at 14:25 BST 18 September

    Mark Church

This gives Haseeb Hameed an opportunity to get a bit of control back in the game.

Both Tom Curran and Dan Lawrence gone.

    This is far from over.

  12. Postpublished at 14:22 BST 18 September

    Surrey 246-7 (Target 315)

    Right,

    Let's take a breath.

Surrey lost two wickets in six balls and haven't added a run since Tom Curran was dismissed.

Surrey need 69 runs for victory; Notts need three wickets.

Liam Patterson-White has done his job and the spinner is taken off.

    Josh Tongue is on.

  13. Postpublished at 14:21 BST 18 September

Only the second boundary of Yorkshire's innings arrives as Jonny Bairstow glances Jaydev Unadkat to fine leg. Still 27 needed for parity.

  14. Postpublished at 14:21 BST 18 September

    Somerset 454-8 dec v Hampshire 172 & 99-3

Tom Lammonby's left-arm medium pace is into the attack. Can he be Lewis Gregory's golden arm?

He gets some good movement in his first couple of balls but Nick Gubbins is in little trouble.

  15. 'Notts needed that wicket'published at 14:20 BST 18 September

    Surrey 173 & 246-7 v Notts 231 & 256

    Beth Harvey
    BBC Commentator

Liam Patterson-White has done his job. I imagine Haseeb Hameed will be giving himself a good pat on the back because they really needed that wicket.

It was a crucial time because it felt like the game was slipping away from them.

  16. D'Oliveira off the fieldpublished at 14:18 BST 18 September

Durham 193-3, trail Worcestershire by 398

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Worcestershire skipper Brett D'Oliveira has spent the afternoon off the field after he rolled his ankle bowling his first ball of the match.

It could be a bitter blow for The Pears, who are just two days away from the One-Day Cup final against Hampshire.

Durham lost two wickets in the morning session before Emilio Gay and David Bedingham put on 122 for the third wicket.

Bedingham has been struggling for any kind of form this season, following a broken toe against Warwickshire back in the spring. When he was fit to play again he was away with South Africa.

In the few glimpses we have seen of him since, there's not been much form to talk about. He had a scratchy start today before settling in and reaching 50. But then he got carried away and paid the price.

Having hit Matthew Waite for a four and a six, he tried to pull him for another maximum off the final ball of the over and was caught on 58 at fine leg.

Live by the sword die by the sword, as they say. But given Durham's relegation predicament he could have been a bit more risk averse today and spent most of the afternoon in the middle.

Meanwhile, Gay has 92 runs and has hit some lovely cover drives to the boundary.

    Lawrence lbw b Pennington 50 (Surrey 246-7 - Target 315)

    Gone!

Dillon Pennington pins Dan Lawrence - up goes the appeal - up goes the finger.

Lawrence almost has to be dragged off the field.

Tom Lawes did a great job as nightwatchman for his 22 and will need to contribute here.

  18. Postpublished at 14:16 BST 18 September

    Surrey 246-6 (Target 315)

A successful first over of spin in the entire game.

Now, do you keep Liam Patterson-White on or get him off for your seamer again?

The perils of being a captain - great work from Notts skipper Haseeb Hameed though.

  19. Declaration at Old Traffordpublished at 14:16 BST 18 September

    Lancashire 375-5d v Middlesex 211

George Balderson hits two sixes in a row and now we know why...

The declaration has come. Is a result on at Old Trafford?

  20. Postpublished at 14:14 BST 18 September

    Sussex 250 v Yorks 23-3

As if facing the spin of James Coles wasn't enough, Yorkshire are being given a real working over by Indian paceman Jaydev Unadkat from the other.

Aside from an odd no-ball, it's high-class stuff and he beats James Wharton with a beauty from round the wicket.

Wharton takes a single and Jonny Bairstow is lucky that an airy drive, with one hand coming off the bat, from the final ball of the over does not cost him his wicket.
