  1. 50 runs

for Matty Hurstpublished at 13:49 BST 18 September

    Lancashire 315-4 v Middlesex 211

A sixth time past fifty for Matty Hurst in the County Championship this season.

It has come in a brisk 54 balls - which has included THREE sixes.

  2. Postpublished at 13:49 BST 18 September

    Somerset 454-8 dec v Hampshire 172 & 87-3

Kasey Aldridge scored 180 with the bat earlier in the match.

Can he rustle up some heroics with the ball?

This is his first over of the match, his last at Taunton before joining Durham in the winter.

  3. 200 runs

200 up for Surreypublished at 13:45 BST 18 September

    Surrey 201-5 (Target 315)

Tom Curran steps across his stumps and flicks Lyndon James down to the long-leg boundary.

We've now had 38 runs and a wicket since lunch.

Dan Lawrence surely holds the key for Surrey here?

He's got to 34 not out from 36 deliveries.

  4. MISSED STUMPINGpublished at 13:44 BST 18 September

    Somerset 454-8 dec v Hampshire 172 & 87-3

The first chance of the afternoon session, and it is a toughy.

Ben Brown advances down the pitch, is done through the gate by one that leaps out of the ground from Archie Vaughan.

All James Rew needs to do is collect the ball and take the stumps, but the mixture of extra-bounce and suddenly appearing from behind the batter sees him fail.

  5. 'A look of disgust on his face'published at 13:42 BST 18 September

    Surrey 173 & 197-5 v Notts 231 & 256

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

Ryan Patel did not need to do that. He's given Notts a way back in there. He's try to pull a ball he thought was short enough but he's spooned it up high to Hameed. There's a real look of disgust on his face.

  6. Postpublished at 13:42 BST 18 September

    Lancashire 297-4 v Middlesex 211

Matty Hurst moves a few inches down the track, swings wildly and leathers the ball for six.

He and Mike Jones have freed up their biceps for a few overs, but that is the first time that ball has been well and truly middled.

  7. Postpublished at 13:40 BST 18 September

    Surrey 195-5 (Target 315)

Josh Tongue is getting up towards 90mph.

He hits Tom Curran in the midriff.

He goes past the outside edge of Tom Curran.

    One run from the over.

Surrey require a further 120 runs to win. Notts need five wickets.

  8. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:37 BST 18 September

    Bean c Carson b Coles 1 (Sussex 250 v Yorks 194 & 6-3)

James Coles forces Finlay Bean onto the back foot, he inside edges onto the thigh pad and Jack Carson dives forward from short leg to take a brilliant catch in the middle of the pitch.

Jonny Bairstow comes to the crease at number five in only the fourth over of the innings.

  9. Postpublished at 13:36 BST 18 September

    Somerset 454-8 dec v Hampshire 172 & 85-3

Ben Brown doesn't like blocking out, but he is good at it.

Against Worcestershire in July, he batted the entire last day to save a draw but said: "It isn't enjoyable. In those situations, clarity is better than having no plan. I put run scoring out my mind. It was boring and tiring but we got a draw."

So far today he has faced 60 balls for his 16 - barely playing a shot in anger in that time. But he'll certainly "enjoy" escaping Taunton with a draw.

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:35 BST 18 September

    Sales c Taylor b Shaw 14 (Gloucs 241 v Northants 206 & 77-4)

James Sales is caught at square leg after getting a big top edge on a short delivery from Josh Shaw.

    Northants four down...

    Patel c Hameed b James 6 (Surrey 193-5 - Target 315)

    Lyndon JamesImage source, PA Media

That's a giveaway from Ryan Patel.

Having just driven wonderfully for four, Patel goes on the back foot to try to pull Lyndon James and the ball gets big on him.

All the Surrey man can do is pull it straight to Haseeb Hameed at mid on.

Tom Curran is next in - remember, it's his first red-ball game this season.

  12. 'Lawrence looks in the mood'published at 13:34 BST 18 September

    Surrey 173 & 193-4 v Notts 231 & 256

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

Real intensity from Dan Lawrence and he looks in the mood. He's applying a little bit of pressure here.

Lyndon James will have to change his length a little as he's hit over mid wicket for four.

  13. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:32 BST 18 September

    Agarwal c Haines b Coles (Sussex 250 v Yorks 194 & 5-2)

Two gone in the same over.

Mayank Agarwal pushes forward, edges to first slip and it 's straightforward catch for Tom Haines.

That is Agarwal's second duck in three innings since he joined the White Rose county.

  14. Postpublished at 13:31 BST 18 September

    Surrey 190-4 (Target 315)

Ryan Patel drives beautifully for four runs.

He's one who goes under the radar in this Surrey side but can bat anywhere in the top six.

    Twenty-seven runs added since lunch.

  15. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:29 BST 18 September

    Lyth c Hudson-Prentice b Coles 5 (Sussex 250 v Yorks 194 & 5-1)

Sussex give the new ball to spinner James Coles and he gets rid of Adam Lyth in his first over. The left-hander is over casual as he chips a catch to Fynn Hudson-Prentice at short mid-wicket.

  16. Postpublished at 13:27 BST 18 September

    Surrey 186-4 (Target 315)

The end of a Lyndon James over with eight runs from it.

Dan Lawrence steps down the wicket and whips one away for four runs - he's not nervous then!

A quick look at our third and final straw poll then (13:15 BST) and you're saying Notts will win this.

So it's 2-1 in favour of the visitors in our very unscientific poll.

    Let's see if you're right...

  17. Postpublished at 13:25 BST 18 September

    Sussex 250 v Yorks 194 & 4-0

    Disciplined batting needed by Yorkshire.

Ollie Robinson has the new ball for Sussex, with Adam Lyth on strike - he already has 1,100 Championship runs to his credit this season.

Lyth tucks the final ball of the over away behind square for four.

  18. Postpublished at 13:25 BST 18 September

    Somerset 454-8 dec v Hampshire 172 & 83-3

Where have all the close-in fielders gone?

Jack Leach only has two slips in catching positions. Ben Brown has no intentions of playing anything expansive, so this feels odd not to pile the pressure onto him.

Leach might not need them. He is ripping the ball. If anything, he is turning the ball too much, as he passes the outside edge.

  19. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 13:23 BST 18 September

    Surrey 178-4 (Target 315)

    Oh Kyle Verreynne...

Ryan Patel gets a big edge to Josh Tongue.

Wicketkeeper Kyle Verreynne dives across in front of first slip - should catch it, doesn't...

  20. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:21 BST 18 September

    Bell lbw Higgins 18 (Lancashire 256-4 v Middlesex 211)

George Bell survived an lbw shout and could have been run out a few balls ago.

But this time Ryan Higgins fires the ball into his pads and the finger is raised.
