Alice Capsey's natural attacking game might be becoming more refined. Looking at her last 10 innings in T20 cricket, she's averaging more (27.1 compared to her career 23.2) but is scoring at a more restrained pace (105.9 compared to a career strike-rate of 121.7). She's also sticking around longer (for 21 balls on average, compared to 17).

I think Danni Wyatt-Hodge has just realised how big a moment that was. England have got two people on nought in the middle which is not great. Hopefully, Amy Jones can use her experience here.

    Wyatt-Hodge st Joty b Nahida 41 (Eng 76-4)

Great bowling from Nahida Akter, who lures Danni Wyatt-Hodge down the track, and Nigar Sultana Joty whips off the bails with the batter miles out of her ground.

Is that stumble becoming a trip?

I think if we get 120 or 130, it is absolutely enough. Bowling is England's strength.

Bangladesh hit back well after England had enjoyed a good Powerplay.

  6. Eng 75-3published at 11.4 overs

Alice Capsey comes in at number five, England are stumbling a bit here and Bangladesh should be quite confident.

That was a lovely paced delivery, it was seamed up and it just nipped back in. Ritu Moni bowled very well against Scotland in the opener and now, she is just carrying that on.

    Knight b Ritu 6 (Eng 73-3)

    Got her!

Great delivery from Ritu Moni, she moves it in off the seam and through the gate to rattle the stumps. Heather Knight looks nonplussed as she trudges off.

A lovely one bounce four. It was set up as if 'I'm going to just baseball this' from Danni Wyatt-Hodge.

  10. Eng 72-2published at 11 overs

Shorna Akter is into the attack, and she's bowling with her cap on. One player I can recall doing that was Geoff Boycott - his right-arm medium paced swingers were a rare sight back in the day.

Danni Wyatt-Hodge is not fazed, drilling the bowler for four as England take nine from the over.

  11. Eng 62-2published at 10 overs

We're at the halfway mark as some much-needed fluids are brought on for the players and the umpires.

England are 15-2 since the Powerplay finished, so they may be watchful for a few overs yet.

  12. Eng 62-2published at 9.3 overs

Danni Wyatt-Hodge moves past 30 with a powerful hit straight back over the umpire off Rabeya Khan.

England have been becalmed ever so slightly but their openers got them off to a fine start, putting on 48 in next to no time.

  14. Eng 58-2published at 9 overs

Heather Knight joins Danni Wyatt-Hodge as Ritu Moni becomes the latest spinner into the attack.

Wyatt-Hodge's sweep towards the boundary drops short of a fielder, the innings has a touch of nerves about it at the moment, it's three overs since the last boundary.

One for Nat to forget about I think. It was very much a up and down ball. If you get caught like that in your first 10 balls, it can do that to any player.

  16. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 8 overs

    Sciver-Brunt lbw b Fahima 2 (53-2)

Nat Sciver-Brunt comes down the track and is hit on the front pad. It's given out but she opts for a review...

It's plumb - hitting middle and England are two down.

An aggressive move by England to send Nat Sciver-Brunt at number three - this is just the third time she's batted there for England in T20s in 2024.

    Previous innings:

    • 47 off 23 vs New Zealand, Southampton
    • 8 off 10 vs Pakistan, Leeds

England have got off to a great start, so why not get Nat Sciver-Brunt in early?

  19. Eng 50-1published at 7 overs

Alice Capsey was slated to come in at three, but there's been a reshuffle.

Bouchier was just looking to capitalising on the start England had, but she just didn't get that off the middle of the bat. A decent start to her World Cup.
