    Bouchier c Nahida Akter b Rabeya 23 (Eng 48-1)

Bouchier lifts Rabeya to leg, but she toe-ends it and the ball loops up for an easy catch at mid on.

Nat Sciver-Brunt strides to the crease.

  2. Eng 47-0published at 6 overs

Maia Bouchier goes past 20 with a slog-sweep off Nahida Akter high over midwicket.

A classic Danni Wyatt-Hodge shot. She just climbed into it, a couple of bounces for four. That's the way you want to be going, you don't want to run in this heat.

  4. Eng 41-0published at 5.3 overs

Danni Wyatt-Hodge carves the left-arm spin of Nahida Akter over the off side for four more, but the batter cannot make the most of a full toss, slapping it to a fielder at midwicket.

She had three gos at it. That could be a big drop, it was an easy one as well.

I think it is a bit of a gamble to bowl Marufa for three overs in a row. She might be a little bit fatigued. I'm not sure about this decision.

  6. dropped catch

    Dropped catchpublished at 5 overs

    Eng 36-0

Bouchier cuts again but Rabeya Khan spills a dolly, at midriff height, out at point.

Skipper Nigar Sultana Joty gives the fielder what Paddington Bear would call "a very hard stare".

  7. Eng 30-0published at 4.3 overs

Maia Bouchier is hitting her straps now, lifting the impressive Marufa Akter over mid-wicket for her first boundary, then stepping outside her off stump to cut her for four more.

A decent start for England, both openers still out there. A bit of chaos early on but it's calmed down out there. Wyatt-Hodge has faced most of the balls and Bouchier will want to get on strike.

Since the start of 2023 England have scored at 7.91 runs per over inside the Powerplay, the fastest of any side in world cricket.

  10. Eng 22-0published at 4 overs

Danni Wyatt-Hodge breaks the shackles, pulling leg-spinner Fahima Khatun over square leg for the first boundary of England's innings.

The second follows quickly, it's a lovely cover drive punched through the off side.

England are just finding this pitch a little bit tricky. I think you need to spend a bit of time getting used to this wicket.

  12. Eng 13-0published at 3 overs

Marufa Akter's swing is a bit like the swing bowlers you used to get in Brian Lara Cricket back in the day - other cricket games are available.

She's nippy as well, and she restricts England to just two in an excellent over.

I'm exhausted - we've only had 2.2 overs. It's really getting the crowd going!

  14. Eng 12-0published at 2.2 overs

Marufa Akter is hooping the ball all over the place, Danni Wyatt-Hodge has to be alert to dig an inswinging yorker out from right on her toes.

A direct hit and she would have been in trouble here, it was a very ambitious run. And it's a classic Danni Wyatt-Hodge dive, it's on the knees.

  16. Eng 11-0published at 2 overs

We haven't had to wait too long to see spin with Nahida Akter's left-arm spin next up.

Danni Wyatt-Hodge is off the mark immediately, and off the fourth ball she dives in from a long way out. A direct hit would have seen the opener off, it's all a little bit harum-scarum.

It was a bit of a risky run first up from Maia Bouchier. A great piece of fielding at mid-off.

  18. Eng 4-0published at 1 overs

It's an all-action first over as Marufa Akter hustles through, especially when Maia Bouchier hurries through for one and gets two as a shy at the stumps ricochets away, Marufa racing away into the deep to get the ball back herself.

  19. Eng 0-0published at 0.1 overs

The first delivery really nips back at Bouchier and the opener has to be alert to keep it out off the back foot.
